âOkay, seriously itâs November 1st. Iâm going to need people to chill on the Christmas music. Iâve heard my coworkers playing their Christmas/Holiday playlist already.â
â i donât know, i dig it. christmas is only two months away, you know? itâs not like thereâs gonna be anything in between anyway. â
graysonhamilton:
everything was spinning, and grayson couldnât quite understand why. stumbling onto the closest stationary figure his vision managed to focus on, he flashed what he believed to be a composed smile at the figure, leaned close, and made the most eloquent statement he was currently capable of. ât-thank you for not letting me fall! the ground looks like a f-fucking pain!â
giving a quick laugh at the otherâs clearly intemperate state, lo shrugged off his thanks, grabbing over his arm to ensure further balance. though he had spent much of the night out, he hadnât exactly planned on getting drunk just yet. â yeah, itâs not a problem, man. â he laughed, shaking his head. â do you need help getting home or something? youâre pretty fucking wasted. â
pennymilligan:
âDo you think Iâve gone too overboard on decorating the house? Iâm just genuinely so excited for kids to come and trick or treat. I want it to be a house of Halloween magic.â
â you can never go overboard with decorating. unless itâs taking over your life, i guess. but most people admire the odd done-up house, even if theyâre not trick-or-treating.â
Pushing his glasses further up his nose, Gavin surveyed the ever growing crowd around the booth his dad had him managing at the Autumn festivalâ heâd spent most of his time there chatting with passersby, complimenting the kids on their costumes and taking pictures with them when they insisted that their parents let them stand next to Spider-Man. âPretty good, huh? I know Peter Parkerâs probably makinâ a Halloween costume comeback, but Iâve been workinâ on it for like, a year. You want a hot chocolate or just a chat? Dadâll kill me if I donât make half an attempt to do my job.â He grinned brightly, dragging his fingers through his hair.Â
Having spent most of the day luring the odd passerby to his own companyâs stand, Lo finally decided to take a look at what a few of the other ones had going on. His hands scoured through his pockets in search of his wallet as he looked over one in particular, smiling instantly at the employeeâs chatter. â A year? â He repeated, face lifting in slight astonishment. â Shit, thatâs some serious dedication, man. I picked this up about four hours ago, â he laughed, pointing over his own, rather cheap, pirate ensemble. â I'll take both. Conversation can be included as an additional service, â he gave a small laugh, shrugging. â So your dad owns this stand? â
Just the word free brought her attention to what could those samples possibly be. Anything that was free was a positive thing for her. âMind if I have one or are you suddenly keeping those samples to yourself? Maybe thatâs why you were trying to hide them in the first place,â she said jokingly, giving his arm a nudge with her elbow. âWhen it comes to love, Iâm a more control your own fate type, yeah.â A smirk showed on her lips as she gave a shrug. ââDepends if you consider debates political because I just count this as a simple argument that two people could have. Anyway, back to the subject, I think feelings can change anytime, depending on how you handle them. An example would be having a break-up. The broken-hearted could obviously try, and possibly succeed, to get over their ex, so would you say itâs actually destiny trying to create your love-life? Just think of how easy it is for one to find a new lover,â she rambled. Ivory didnât quite have to continue onward to the topic of destiny and fate, but she, deep down, wanted to know what was his view on it.
She rolled her eyes at the mentioning of her name being too long, but the smirk was still visible and she didnât quite care what he, or others, had to think about her name simply because she liked her own name. âIs that so? Thereâs no possible way in shorting Ivory though, unlike Laurence. Only if you give me some random nickname, but it wouldnât be derived from my real name. âIâll stick with Lo for now.â The brunette found it quite strange how he seemed to be so content with only following her, but she didnât verbally complain or question it yet and continued onward to the direction of a haunted house. âYouâre not terrified of anything horror, are you?â she teased. âI plan on going to a haunted house, so if youâre scared, tell me. I wouldnât want to deal with a baby.â For the first time in a long time, she became flustered at his last words and playfully pushed him away, releasing her grip onto the fabric of his shirt. âDo you ever stop talking or do you just love listening to yourself?â she inquired, completely ignoring his own question.
Hesitating momentarily, Lo pulled out a few of the packets, holding them up between his fingers. He had them to spare, after all. What harm could come from showing her? â Not sure how big you are on skincare, but I guess I could share some, â he smirked, grabbing hold of one to hand over. â You can try it first, if you want. Itâs not half bad. I use it, and I like to think my hands are pretty soft, â he lifted his palms as if to further his point. He obviously wouldnât bring up the fact that buying the product itself was a pure ripoff. He listened as she went on about the topic, rather entertained at how opinionated she seemed on the subject. Certainly seeing as the end of her rant was simply met with a smirk and a shrug on his end. â Yeah, I guess I can get on board with that. Generally. But how do you know it isnât destiny controlling these feelings, hm? That youâre meant to have that heartache or to easily fall for someone else? â He challenged, raising a brow.Â
Lo gave an assertive nod at her choice, pursing his lips in humor at Ivoryâs comment about her own name, â Iâll take that as a challenge, â he grinned. â You can totally shorten Ivory. Ivy. Vo. Vuh? Yeah, no. Ree. Oh, Reeâs a good one, â he snapped his fingers together, pointing to her in triumph before letting out a laugh. His interest peaked again at her mention of where they were going, giving her an impish smile, â Not at all. I wanted to see the house too, actually. Guess going with you wouldnât be half bad. Assuming you arenât scared. Wouldnât want to deal with a baby, right? â He teased the words back in response. Haunted houses never really got to him. He was more about verbal or written horror, things that had fear creep up on him rather than the odd jump scare, seeing as he was pretty hard to startle. Her reaction left him all too amused, his lips stretching even further at her push. He raised his arms into an exaggerated shrug, â Have you heard my voice? Itâs pretty soothing. â
Sabrina mimicked his action and crossed her arms raising an eyebrow at the claim, a smile breaking out across her features. â Itâs admirable youâre going to at least try. ME? Oh no no no. â She said shaking her head, â As much as Iâd love to join in on the fun. I donât want to see anyone cry because they were beat by someone like me. â
A laugh escaped him at her comment, quickly looking away to shake his head teasingly, â You? â He repeated, raising a brow, â Well I guess that would be worthy of some tear-shedding, but thereâs no way youâre able to hold down all that food in the first place. Have you ever even been in a contest? â
She noticed the items being shoved down before nodding her head to them and asking, âWhat was that just now?â Ivory could have left it as his business, but her curious mind got the best of her; It happened every now and then. Ivory could have picked somewhere else to do something or to find someone to keep her company, but she figured she could possibly meet new people at the festival and assumed most would be attending it. Especially with how big the crowd got in the location of it all. Plus, it did give her an opportunity to show off her outfit. âSorry, but I donât believe in destiny,â she stated, raising an eyebrow while continuing to keep her eyes on him as she wanted to see what type of reaction he would give. She didnât take the words about his name so seriously earlier, but she was somewhat glad to see he wasnât upset about such a thing. âDoes Lo stand for something? It sounds too short for my taste.â Taking a step toward a direction, she softly grasped onto his shirt, wanting to lead him to the same path. She suddenly got tired of staying in one place and she did plan on going to a haunted house, so she thought Lo could keep her company for now. âIt depends on what weâre celebrating. I wouldnât be here if it was a Valentineâs Day festival, just so you know, but I can be into Halloween. Like dressing up and haunted houses.â
The question drew him back slightly as his mind searched for a way to answer that wouldnât immediately damn him. â Free samples, â he shrugged, his grin unfading. He certainly wasnât going to spew his speech at her, but hey, if she was to keep pushing, that was on her. â You donât? â He rose a brow at her statement, smirking slightly. â So youâre the control your own fate type, I presume? Or am I starting to get a little too political here? â He laughed. â Too short? Thatâs a new one. I typically give people an earful for having a name thatâs too long. You know, like Ivory. What a mouthful, â he teased, scrunching his nose to emphasize his sarcasm. His face relaxed again as he answered her, â Itâs short for Laurence. Iâm used to the long version being unpronounceable, so I stick to Lo. Call me what you want, â he shrugged. His eyes darted down to her arm as she began moving him, â We going somewhere? â he asked, rather amused and showing no resistance in following her. â Not big on Valentineâs, huh? Are you that much of a buzzkill, â he moved closer, eyes practically glistening in devilish humor, â Or you just havenât found that special someone? â
@lcurence.
While wandering around the festival, she wasnât quite having a blast, but it wasnât all that terrible either. She only arrived not too long ago and the only thing that kept her attention were the attractive people, the rich people, and the attractive, rich people. It was all she wanted so far anyway. Nothing else interested her quite as much ever since she was in high school. Greed and lust got to her and nothing ever felt as satisfying as money and sex. Love never seemed to come to her in her perspective and thought negatively about the soulmate couples simply of jealousy and how others were being treated, even when everybody had a soulmate. It only made her bitter about the situation. Nonetheless, she never bothered covering her hand because she already figured her meeting her soulmate wouldnât much of a difference in her life. Glancing around the area, she continued strolling along the same path before noticing a familiar face not too distant from her. Now, she could have continued walking by herself, but she didnât look like the type to be anti-social. She approached Lo in an instant and planned on staying by his side until someone better in her eyes came along. âI didnât expect to run into you,â she said nonchalantly. âYou know what? I think I forgot your name too.â
Festivals were an opportunity. Any small business owner could tell you that. Though most would argue that Loâs line of work didnât necessarily fall into that category, he considered it such. A small business with horrible products that were constantly shifting. His fingers fumbled through the âfree packetsâ of hand cream he was meant to hand out to lure others toward his companyâs stand. He had gotten bored of the routine quickly and moved off only to distract his mind from the repetitive play. Just as he felt like he could prolong his break no longer, luck found its way to him. Or a familiar girl did, at least. Shoving the samples into the pockets of his trousers, he flashed the brunette a smile, â Guess you took the whole next time thing pretty literally. Destiny calls, right? â He teased, raising his palms into a shrug. A single brow rose at her next statement, letting out an amused laugh. Ivory. He could easily recall her name. â Lo isnât exactly the hardest thing to remember. But maybe Iâm biased. â His head bobbed to the side, unintentionally looking over the girl again before he spoke, â Funny you say that, though. This would be the last place Iâd expect to find you again too. Didnât take you for the celebrating type. â
Witch hat, black dress, and striped stockings paired with red converse. It was a clichĂ© she actually enjoyed and LOVED . Loved just as much as she loved the fall season. While there was a lot to sde her attention at the moment was on a stage with a long table placed in the center of it for the pumpkin pie eating contest, â Wonder if anyoneâs going to beat last yearâs time. â She mused more to herself than anyone else.
fiddling with the cuffs of his pirate costume, loâs hand tapped over the table before he turned to the girl next to him, grinning, ' i will. hopefully, â he shrugged, leaning against the display as he crossed his arms. â or throw up about three seconds in. like i do most years. whichever comes first, â he smirked. he took another quick glance at the table before nudging his chin over to it, â you joining the competition? â

â but there are no supermarkets in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, you gotta drive, and nobody delivers. hell on earth, my friend. hell. on. earth. â dax gave him a small nod, listening to his words and chuckling slightly. â well thereâs reason i donât speak about him. he thought i was married because i was engaged the last time we saw each other, of course. â he replied as if it was nothing, though he couldnât help but wonder why he had never brought his ex-fiancĂ© before. â m.i.a. as in they kicked your sorry ass or as in you havenât met them before? shit man, five grand in a week ? why do i even have to pay rent if youâre the one making the dough. â
â youâre way too fucking lazy, â lo shook his head, laughing, â yeah, i guess. canât imagine what kinda shit you two mustâve pulled on each other if youâre actively avoiding your soulmate, â he teased. â shit, you were engaged? you really donât talk about your personal life too much, do you? â in all fairness, neither did lo, but these all seemed like facts that would have been brought up earlier in one way or another. â why do you always assume the worst of me? â he asked, grinning. â no, m.i.a. as in i never actually met them. â at his comment, lo broke into a laugh, â nah. besides just being cheap, i could just as easily lose twenty grand next week. my salary canât be trusted enough to support two people. â
