hi! ok so i am teaching myself how to draw again but i find that every time i try to draw faces i am so bad that i get hella frustrated and scribble everything out. any tips on how to practice facial proportions and expressions? You always have such great expressions, i thought I'd ask :D

Oh !!!! OOC post time!! Well, I’m not sure myself. I think it’s the eyebrows that dictates which expression is most achieved?

Certain head tilts can also dictate it, I suppose. I always draw the nose first as a foundation, then the eyes before the eyebrows. Once I have the face I can then draw the ears at a level with the eyes to where it’s not awkward. I finally add on the hair, shape the face, and add a neck go wild from there. Like I said, it’s prolly the eyebrows that kind of do the expressions, and a nose first foundation for a face.
