🙄 just when we were thinking Jared could be genuinely trying to turn things around on social media. Yes, he could've wished more deserving people well besides Perez Hilton. With that being said, Jared turned around and deleted the said controversial Tweet he was getting grilled for, apologized to people for hurting them... And now this story is ALLOVER the media. Must've been all some elaborate publicity stunt to remain relevant. Ugh, I wanted to think this isn't what was meant here but alas, here we are...
ehhhh, I just want to say that I never thought Jared was trying to turn things around on social media. this is what he does: performance. this is yet another time that Jared impulsively popped off because he thought it was the noble, valiant thing to do and because he assumed his thoughts were needed on something when he probably should have just stayed quiet.

Jared is sooooo good at the performative and privileged apology. he’s done it so many times.
“It’s not my fault. I didn’t know. I was just opportunistically trying to hop on a trending topic and make a display of being the bigger person to someone who was mean to me once…I think. So don’t get mad at me.
also #akf (because why wouldn’t I also seize the moment to remind you all why I’m just a fragile widdol guy?)”
for whatever it’s worth, here’s what I think - Jared heard something about the downfall of someone who he’s probably been holding a minor grudge against. he then tried to seize a moment to be a performative savior, the ultimate forgiving nice guy, and it backfired on him.
Jared and Jensen both were discussed off and on by Perez on his blog back in the day for things like their weddings, pap photos, and birth announcements. but the only time I can find anything remotely snarky is about Jared’s 2019 arrest.
Jared probably didn’t know that Perez Hilton posted underage upskirt pics of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen. Or that when Heath Ledger died, Perez sold t-shirts that said it should have been Britney Spears. honestly, I forgot about all the truly heinous crap that Perez used to pull. it’s been awhile. so it doesn’t surprise me that someone like Jared never paid it much attention during the height of all the controversy…because it had nothing to do with him or anyone he cared about.
but in his initial post Jared could have acknowledged the fact that Perez Hilton live-streamed as he proceeded to cut himself for an unsuspecting audience. for such a great big advocate of mental health, it shouldn’t be hard for Jared to see how triggering and upsetting that could be. of course some of his #akffamily might be upset by an outpouring of support.
and now begins the mini redemption arc. because his twitter comments are largely comprised of supportive fans praising him for offering empathy to someone who has expressed remorse for their past. and that’s what really matters, right? remorse? Jared hopes so!
let’s ask Taylor Momsen: link
I wonder if remorse is enough for her. or for any of the others who don’t care about giving Jared the benefit of the doubt.
Perez Hilton made a sizeable living off of his cruelty. one comment under the post linked above had this to say:
this is exactly why it’s difficult for me to believe that Jared didn’t know. forgot? …maybe. was too engrossed in his own image to worry about how the media was treating his female peers? …much more probable.
a few other comments on Jared’s tweets reference being upset that he gave in to the “woke mob.” they are critical that he didn’t stand in business and tell those snowflakes to suck it up. he said what he said.
it seems Jared can’t please everyone.
hey Jared, maybe next time - just hush.
