“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.”
camp!au ← a helpful hand → lilo/merida
Merida took in a deep breath as she glanced down at her trainers. She couldn’t have a harder time than the moments she had shared with Jim Hawker… no, Jim Hawkins when she couldn’t help him find his cabin straight away when his name wasn’t on the list. She had just gotten back from ranting with Mulan, another councillor but she knew she had better get back out to do her job in case anyone turned up late to the camp.
The archer was told that if she could help the campers find their cabins then that would be a great help. She had gotten a clip board full of lists, the names of the campers to each cabin and where they would go and where the cabins were. She had already gotten to know where all the cabins were, it was just the task of putting faces to the names. The redhead bounded forward, enjoying the feel of the warm sun ahead beaming down upon her bare shoulders as she wore a white vest underneath her dungarees.
The view of someone she hadn’t seen yet made her smile brightly. She was unsure if this girl was a camper or staff member but kept her smile wide. “Hullo~” The Scottish lass waved as she made her way over. “Are ye lost?”
Lilo ran a hand through her silky hair, looking up at the redheaded lass. She pondered the question for a moment, wondering if she was desperate enough to accept the woman's help, or stubborn enough to refuse it. She slowly closed the brochure in her hands," I guess . . " She said reluctantly, each syllable having to be pried from her tongue. "But not because I'm not capable of finding my way around myself," Lilo told her sternly," It's because my sister didn't do her research accurately before shipping me off!"
Yes, that not only sounded believable, but it put the blame totally off of Lilo, which had been her intention all along. She smiled a bit, crossed her arms lightly," So, ya think ya could help me with a cabin? Or something?"
She bit her lip, slipping her hands into her cargo pants as she studied the woman intently. "You are a consuler aren'tcha? I mean, you look young and everything . . ." She trialed off.
Lilo was used to wilderness, palm trees and sand getting everywhere, the whole deal; but as she stood toward the front of the camp, lips pursed and arms crossed. Utterly unhappy. This was not what she was expecting when Nani agreed to let her go to summer camp, granted she had also kept warning Lilo that she ought to check it out more. But she didn't actually think that'd be necessary.
"Now to find my cabin . . or the lake . . or . . . " She trailed off, getting lost in the list of activities and places she was allowed to go.
New sights | Tiger Lily & Lilo
Tiger Lily sighed as she stared out at the strange new world she was in. Everything was so different and odd. She looked out at the ocean, tiling her head to the side. She gasped slightly as she was bumped into, looking behind her and at the girl. She gave her a concerned look. “Um.. I’m not sure how I got here… umm.. where is… here exactly?" She asked her, tilting her head to the side slightly.
"You're in Hawaii," She said skeptically, crossing her arms and leaning against a palm tree. It was strange, most people didn't just end up on Hawaii on accident. It was pretty hard to do that since it was an island and everything, wasn't like accidentally walking into the wrong store, it was a much larger mistake than that. Lilo pursed her lips to the side before straightening them out again," I'm Lilo," She announced, holding out her hand to the obviously confused stranger. "Who are you m'dear?"
New sights | Tiger Lily & Lilo
Tiger Lily laughed as she ran through the forests of Never land., chasing after the Lost Boys in a game of tag. Once she turned a corner, she lost the boys which made her stop. She blinked and looked around. “Now where could those boys have gone to?" She asked herself, tapping her chin lightly with her finger. She heard the crack of a twig and giggled. “There you are!" She ran after the sound, jumping out from behind a tree. “Found you!" But there was no one there. “Huh?" She asked herself before looking around the area until all of a sudden, she heard a scream. Her head quickly turned. It sounded like it was coming from her village. “Oh please… not again." She begged as she began to run. Not another raid. Anything but that..
As she ran through the forest, she didn’t really pay attention to her surroundings except for dodging trees. Which is why she didn’t notice the net on the ground. As soon as she stepped on it, she released a trap and it wrapped around her. She let out a scream and as the net jerked up, she hit her head on a branch, knocking her out. She dazed in and out to voices and blurred vision. When she finally came to, she was laying on the ground. Groaning slightly, she pushed herself up, her head pounding. “Ow…" She whispered, her hand coming up to feel the slight bump on her head. Blinking, she looked around. Where was she? This was not a part of Never Land that she had seen before. She swore she had been everywhere, seen all the sights. As she walked, her dark eyes wandered around in amazement. New animals and plants. All came to her attention. When she came to a clearing, her eyes widened to the new sight. She was defiantly not in Never Land anymore.
Lilo had been exploring. Well, more like not wanting to get caught by Nani again and hiding herself. She might have gotten into another fist fight at school -- and had left a letter for her to sign on the counter. It really wasn't Lilo's fault though, the kid had it coming, taking about her dead parents and all. And how they were probably drunk when the crash happened, that they had brought it upon themselves. She probably could have held off the punching on any other topic, because she knew how many times she'd gotten in trouble this year -- but Ohana? To belittle something that important was something that Lilo couldn't and wouldn't stand for. Hence the fist fighting, and broken nose -- correction, the other kid's broken nose -- and then the principal's note and three detentions. Compared to other things in her file this was mild.
Due to this she ended up in the sort of forest. jungle that was her backyard. Trekking through it to see how long it would take her before she reached the ocean. She must have walked this way a hundred times; but never timed it, or anything of the sort. Lilo was walking absentmindedly now,and nearly tripped over the girl that was in the middle of a nearly clear patch of land. "Oh -- Oh my god!" She exclaimed, jumping back, blinking. "H- How did you end up back here?"
@leavemealone-todie || Holidays ||
"Nooo!" She giggled. “That’s not true." Her mother , in the meantime, sat down on the nearest bench in the shade as Lindy plopped down beside Lilo.
"Okay, but still," Lindy whispered back. “I think the butthead is jealous because you’re cool." She nodded, evidently pleased with herself.
"Yeah, sorta. Mommy always tells me I need to work on that. And thanks."
"But I don’t because I don’t know it here. Hey! You live here! Surely you would know where to look!"
"Oh, but I think it is," Lilo flashed a grin, leaning in to inspect the child's hair. "Aw, look at that! Your hair's already graying and everything."
She laughed," Yeah, uh, sure, I'm sure that's it." She gave an affirmative nod as she thought of Myrtle. Lilo didn't really believe what she was saying though. The lies just slipped from her mouth now days, she hardly noticed them.
"It's not a bad quality." Lilo drawled out, smiling a bit."I'm just not used to it is all."
Lilo laughed, running a hand through her hair, her eyes lit up a bit. "I suppose that the beach would be the best place."

Not Under Your Spell || Mal & Lilo
She’d heard that a village at the south had newcomers. Americans, or something like that. Not like she cared, to be honest. The dark fairy was far more concerned with more pressing matters, like killing King Stephan and Queen Leah. And those three blasted faeries. And the all those little morons in the Fairy Counsel.
Yes, that was far more important.
And after killing them, what would she then do? Obviously, take over the kingdom for herself. But then what? She had time to figure it out later, but for now, she had to devise her plan.
Diablo watched his dark fairy as she stared out, thinking to herself as she drummed her fingers against the stone wall of her window. Her familiar flew over to her, landing on her shoulder, and crooned gently. Maleficent smiled, reaching up to stroke her crow familiar along his breast.
"My dear pet," she breathed.
Diablo cawed, and rubbed his head against hers.
Lilo scaled the mountain quickly, running a hand lazily through her silky black hair. She tied it off into a bun, it always seeming to get in the way. If that wasn't annoying, she wasn't sure what was. She let out a loud breath when she got to the top, brushing the dirt off her clothes. Her muscles held that familiar ache that she normally got when she was climbing something especially steep. But in the end it was always worth the pain it caused.
She snapped a few photos of the top of the mountain, heading toward the castle with every step. It was a large castle, slightly Gothic in Lilo's opinion but absolutely beautiful nevertheless. Oh, the view that it held -- well it was nothing sort of breath taking. The city just a bunch of twinkling lights, and the people? The people were like ants. If she shut one eye and held out her hand she could squish them between her fingers.
Lilo gave a large amused smile at the game, tucking a spare strand of hair behind her ear. "The fun that distracts from loneliness." She muttered, another adventure alone. She thought she'd be used to it by now, but even still it haunted her.
As she drew closer to the castle, she began to hear sounds -- sounds that she didn't recognize. She frowned," Does someone live here?" Lilo wondered aloud.
Exploring || Lilo & Nakoma
They'd won their competition in New York! Which was exciting in itself for now they moved onto the semifinals. If they placed they'd move onto Germany to win the title. Though that was becoming increasingly unlikely for the other hula groups were older and more practiced then they were. Not that it mattered at the moment.
Lilo had somehow managed to distance herself from the group again, despite Myrtle having a particularly close eye on her. She was looking for any excuse to get Lilo in trouble, which unfortunately for her couldn't happen this time around; for she honestly got lost. It was astounding how she'd managed that again, but refreshing nevertheless.
Her eyes were fixated on the green that surrounded her. This wasn't like the jungles in Hawaii, it was more of a forest here, with thicker trees and different variations of shrubbery. It was nice to see something so incredibly different than what she was accustomed to. She smiled to herself, snapping a few clumsy photos before listening intently to the sounds around her.
It sounded as if . . . as if someone was approaching where she was at the moment. "Wh-Who's there?" She called out, stammering slightly.
Comfort Zones || Meg & Lilo
Footsteps warned Meg that in a short space of time she would have to engage in some form of social interaction. What rapture. She rested her elbow on her knee and planted her cheek into her open palm, a bored expression already plastered onto her face in preparation for conversation.
“Hello, my name is Megara; you may call me Meg and et cetera. I doubt you have anything really interesting to say…”
Her words trailed off when she actually began observing the newcomer. Whatever she may have been expecting, it had not been…that.
Lilo rose an eyebrow, after her hula team had taken the original contestants place in the Hula tournament they had won second place. And all expenses paid trip to Greece was what they had won for second place. As well as some money to fund their program. So, Lilo, having not really taken into consideration what happened in Germany was exploring by herself.
Mostly because she could stand Myrtle.
She looked up at the voice, surprised that it immediately started introducing itself. She clasped her camera lightly," I'm Lilo. Nice to meet you Meg?" Lilo sounded uncertain with her last statement. She wasn't really sure it was nice to meet anybody anymore.
"You must live here, in Greece I mean," Lilo commented, snapping a picture of a statue before turning back to the stranger hesitantly. She ran a hair through her hand, annoyed with it. "You are from here, aren't you? Because if you're not your clothing is very believable."
