What is it with influencers and acting like the first shampoo isn’t doing anything because it doesn’t foam up like when they do it a second time?

The reason it doesn’t foam up on the first wash is because the surfactants in the soap are bonding to the dirt and oils in your hair, aka actually cleaning it, and when the surfactants have no dirt or oils to bind to (because the first shampoo washed them all out), they just bind to the air created through agitation and the water and form bubbles and foam, so unless you have excess product or oils in your hair, double shampooing is as effective as sanitising twice to “kill that last %00.01” of the germs.
