after analyzing every possible chess game using a quantum computer we have determined that the optimal strategy is to move the horseys around. this is literally unbeatable
ladies let's meet up and shoot a no budget shot on video exploitation horror movie xoxo
you play chess with levi and his eye brain turns off and he spends the entire game trying to "make the horsies kiss".

(Ā aĀ mixĀ ofĀ horror,Ā humor,Ā andĀ happyĀ hauntings!Ā )
ā you say beetlejuice three times. and iāll say candyman five times. then we get them to fight. ā
ā thatās your face? oh, i thought it was a mask. ā
ā if you ever get scared, you can hold my hand. ā
ā how late do you think the blood bank stays open? ā
ā what slasher do you think you could take? in a fight, i mean. ā
ā and the walls will ooze green slime?! wait, they always do that. ā
ā holy shit, you should have seen the look on your face! ā
ā these pumpkins may be tiny, but they give so much serotonin. ā
ā on halloween we dress as skeletons. but in reality, skeletons dress as us. ā
ā do you believe in ghosts? ā
ā i think weāre being followed. ā
ā well, one of us is going to have to change. ā
ā donāt tell me youāre afraid of the dark. ā
ā weāre not alone. ā
ā i see dead people. ā
ā scream for me, my little banshee. ā
ā i said, look behind you. ā
ā do you think ghosts ask if they believe in humans? ā
ā i heard the houses here give out huge candy bars. ā
ā itās like weāre too old to trick or treat and too young to die. ā
ā hey you need a⦠hand? ā
ā halloween is the perfect day to hide a body in plain sight. ā
ā itās just a mask, donāt worry! ā
ā have you picked out a costume yet? ā
ā i can read your fortune. it says youāre a nerd. ā
ā get in loser, weāre going to spirit halloween. ā
ā did that ghost just spell āget outā wrong? ā
ā if you canāt summon the flames directly from hell, store bought is fine. ā
ā if a zombie apocalypse started on halloween, it would take a while to realize. ā
ā you frightened me. do it again. ā
ā wanna see something scary? ā
ā i came here expecting a trick, but youāre a real treat. ā
ā i donāt think we should be here. ā
ā maybe iāll summon a demon so i can hang out with someone. ā
ā what i want to be for halloween is loved. ā
ā whatās your favorite scary movie? ā
ā iāve seen enough horror movies to know where this is going. ā
ā some people have swimming pools, other people have private cemeteries. ā
ā they really need to add bloopers at the end of horror movies. ā
ā you alright? you look like youāve seen a ghost. ā
ā thatās fake blood, right? ā
ā i could have sworn we were just here. ā
ā do not say we should split up. ā
ā did the eyes in that painting just move? ā
ā i think itās found us. ā
ā scared? iām not scared. ā
ā you canāt help the dead. theyāre beyond help. ā
ā whatever you do, donāt look behind you. ā
ā i think iām getting pretty good at this pumpkin carving business. ā
ā the scariest thing about halloween is that rent is due the next day. ā
ā ā¦and they were never heard from again. ā
ā i know this isnāt your area of expertise, but is this guy dead?Ā ā
ā why does that grave have your name on it? ā
ā i could really go for a hot chocolate right now. ā
iām gonna be glib in this post for comedyās sake but iāve seen enough around tumblr and social media in general to think that this needs to be said, so iām saying it: your character probably shouldnāt beĀ āpracticingā kabbalah.Ā
your character probably shouldnāt have anything to do with kabbalah. and this isnāt a matter ofĀ ājust research it and be respectful, if you read enough and youāre mindful youāll be good to goā - because you canāt research it respectfully.Ā judaism is a closed culture, and while iām all for the push to write jewish characters, simply throwing kabbalah in tells me that more research needs to be done. because you, as the writer, should probably not be accessing the zohar or other writings, since these are meant to be read after decades of torah study for proper context. and i donāt wanna get into age limitations on access to religious texts on the wide open internet because thatās a conversation for the jewish community, but to be clear i donāt want anyone coming onto this post withĀ āthere have been young kabbalists!ā because yes but thatās not anyoneās business outside of young jews talking to their rabbis about their formal religious studies.Ā
because kabbalah is religious. i havenāt read the texts because iām not a middle aged torah scholar, but even a general understanding from living as a jewish person and having these conversations has taught me that kabbalah is a way of understanding g-d and performing mitzvot. it is notĀ āwitchcraftā, and if you want to classify it asĀ āmysticismā, itās absolutely not in any sort of h*rry p*tt*r sense of the word. if the people who actively study and practice it view it asĀ āmagicā, thatās their call to make. but kabbalah is not a book of jewish spells, and iāve seen a lot of gentile witches appropriating it, believing it to be such, and that is flying awfully close to the blood libel sun. it reads to me as the āpositiveā and faux-supportive version of,Ā ājews have secret ancient magic that they do in their basements,ā with the end goal being appropriation instead of extermination. and itās hard to talk about this without speaking for all jews, in the way itās hard to talk about anything jewish online without becoming a mouthpiece that erases a rainbow of jewish experiences, but for goyim at least maybe the Secret Ancient Jewish Magic angle is not a good one. and it may scare a lot of atheists or people who thinkĀ āabrahamicā ( help! ) monotheism is Icky but those texts are⦠to bring you closer to⦠g-d. to live in a more g-dly way. and the blurry line between secular and sacred judaism is, again, not a conversation that gentiles need to be taking part in.
but since i have yet to see a middle aged jewish rper writing a deeply religiously jewish character - aka someone who would want to seek out kabbalah beyond doing it for the Secular Online Witchcraft Aesthetic of it all, which is especially not a good look if youāre a non-jew writing a jewish person - and have definitely not seen someone writing an actively practicing jew over forty - the age you technically need to be to study kabbalah - thereās really no excuse for incorporating it at all.
tl;dr: kabbalah isnāt witchcraft, the culture is closed, you more likely than not cannot actively portray what kabbalah is without reading material you do not have the appropriate respectful context for, and if you are an older adult torah scholar in the tumblr rpc ( maybe thereās One out there ) then you probably already know that thatās not something you should be sharing online for aesthetic writey blog. if youāre jewish and wanna argue with me 1) argue with your rabbi firstĀ š¤Ā ( joke but i do dare you ) and 2) you can inbox / dm me bc iām not having religious conversations in the open this is a and b jew talk and gentiles can c themselves out. you may reblog but please donāt clown.
@cultreviews what if we kissed in the moral grey area of having complete control of someoneās image pre- and post-mortem
what if we traversed the new age graveyard that is the internet and kissed under the digital moon while eyes that are ours and simultaneously not ours watched from the shadows?
what if we recorded our finest material on cellulose because we knew the promise of digital restoration was too good to be true and as we creep inexorably towards a future of digital obsolescence where we no longer have the means to access old stored data we had to choose whether to rot in the real world with our ancestors or to place our hopes in the collective mass media consciousness, nouveau oral tradition, stranded between accessible memory that decays or inaccessible memory that was never alive in the first place? and we both had eyes lining our skulls?Ā š³

āur overthinking thisā bro I have anxiety. I have no other type of thinking available
āWhy do people go to the cinema? What takes them into a darkened room where, for two hours, they watch the play of shadows on a sheet? The search for entertainment? The need for a kind of drug? All over the world there are, indeed, entertainment firms and organisations which exploit cinema and television and spectacles of many other kinds. Our starting-point, however, should not be there, but in the essential principles of cinema, which have to do with the human need to master and know the world. I think that what a person normally goes to the cinema for is time: for time lost or spent or not yet had. He goes there for living experience; for cinema, like no other art, widens, enhances and concentrates a personās experienceāand not only enhances it but makes it longer, significantly longer. That is the power of cinema: āstarsā, story-lines and entertainment have nothing to do with it.ā
