There is no death of the author when the author is very much alive and literally trying to exterminate people ok? Ok
Also when the art itself, completely separated from the artist, is still fucking racist. Lmfao
death of the author is about literary analysis, putting aside the things you know about what the author intended or didnât to interpret and understand the text on its own. it removes the special status of the authorâs own understanding of the piece for reasons that are outlined in the original essay âLe Morte dâAuteurâ by Roland Barthes. The essay claims that a work of literature (or really any piece of art) has no meaning until it is read, and that the meanings are informed by countless cultural inputs that all converge on one point: the reader.
it is NOT about âseparating art from the artistâ or whatever little dorks need to tell themselves to feel good about liking the transphobic media mogulâs racist wizard books.
This implies that the person played the game for 8,492 hours, and then gave it a negative review. After doing that, they played the game for another 9,165.9 hours.
The amount of plot that happens in the first episode of yugioh is absolutely astonishing and Iâd say a tribute to efficient story telling but itâs less efficient and more like a hologram monster hand grabbed me by the throat and dragged me through a city block at 65 mph
So thereâs an ancient Egyptian shadow game and a pharaoh who sacrificed his life to contain it in millennials and then in modern day we have this game called Duel Monsters and this group of friends who play it and one of them has a grandpa with an extremely rare card and so this teenage CEO comes to his game store to try to buy the card but when he canât, 15 year old Jeff Bezosâwho attends the same high school as the working class main charactersâsends some thugs to force the grandpa to play a game of duel monsters against him, which the grandpa does because he wants to teach Rich Boy a lesson about the heart of the cards except he loses so badly that it causes him some sort of physical injury and needs to be taken to the hospital, so Yugi needs to duel to teach Kaiba a lesson, and this group of teens we just met draw a smilie face on their hands to prove their friendship is unbreakable, and then they reference that Yugi has a Millenium Puzzle which should help him win, and then if weâre wondering what that means, the enormous pyramid he wears around his neck glows and he transforms into a person who is functionally identical to himself but Taller and Hotter, and we have just reached the ten minute mark of the first episode.
this is what happens when you need to cover a manga series worth of context into the first episode because youâre skipping animating all that.
