Anyway now I return back to my void (because Tumblr isn't let me upload images for some reason so I can't even share the art I've been working on in the interim.)

To be honest, we never really see Mark suffer the same fate as Celci, Gunther, and Burt. So that begs the question, is he just, dead in that universe, where all 3 of them are still alive, or is he alive, but just sitting somewhere-

We really do though, is the thing. In the crew lead situations, the Captain and Mark have seemingly abandoned them in those arcs (when in reality, both are stuck in various death loops either together or separated and aren't able to return to the crew). Celci left alone tries to save the ship the only way she knows how - by cryogenically freezing every living person left aboard.

Gunther left alone tries to take control of the situation by force because he feels abandoned by the leadership (aka Captain and Mark).

Burt meanwhile, responds to the perceived abandonment by seeking answers and fusing his mind with the ship's computer.

In all of these scenarios, Mark is either with the Captain after being hijacked by Wug (this is specifically mentioned in Gunther's mutiny), or potentially separated as there are plenty of loops where we lose track of him. Mark, in this universe, could potentially be anywhere. The point is that there are infinite possibilities.

Meanwhile though, Mark does suffer a huge deal. One instance that's notable is the universe where the Captain never wakes, and we find him alone in the ship, using candlelight, dishevelled and going slowly insane. Our Mark, the one we start with, suffers even more! He ends up trapped in a loop within the Warp Core room, left there believing that we, the Captain, were the source of everything that went to shit. And as a result, he ends up building the Warp Core over lifetimes of solitude, and when he eventually is reunited with the Captain is so intensely paranoid that we'll fuck everything up again that he outright attacks us! Then when we inevitably Hang On, he is then forced to realise that he was the one who caused the destruction of the universe all along, because he lost faith in his Captain. - This is not my interpretation of ISWM P2, this is literally in the script.

I think the most tragic of all the fates is ultimately Mark's, since he is the only one of the four who is left after the events of the wormhole with his memories intact. The others get to remain blissfully unaware of what they did and who they hurt in their lowest points, but Mark is ultimately doomed to remember.

please never feel bad for taking shortcuts in art. its ok if you copy and paste the other eye. its okay if you use the circle tool or the line tool. its okay to use a reference. its not about doing it the hard way, its about creating something. i promise you, you arent a worse artist for using tricks and shortcuts. its about the end product, not the process, and you shouldnt torture yourself with the hardest methods imaginable if it wont change your art in the end

i just wanted to clarify some things

artists know the risk they are taking when they post their art online. people are inevitably going to take it apart, color edit it, flip it around or otherwise post it uncredited.

saying that an artist shouldn’t post their work if they don’t want it bastardized is probably the stupidest stance on this subject you could take. if all artists followed this line of reasoning, there would be no art on the internet. 

when an artist posts their work, they are trusting you to enjoy it respectfully. and when you betray that trust either knowingly or unknowingly, it’s like saying the artist’s time, skills and thoughts aren’t worth anything.

you are NOT entitled to an artists work just because they decided to trust you enough to share it with you.

an artist is within their right to feel upset that someone has used their work in a way they never intended it to be used. they are within their right to ask for it to stop and not happen again.

just because it’s “bound to happen” doesn’t mean it’s any less deplorable.
