To whoever this may concern at Parks and Countryside
My name is Lee Brady, a national prize winning sculptor from Sheffield. Many years ago I noticed a disused white stone building on the south side of Hillsborough Park. The building is fairly modest in size, in good shape and with loads of character. I have a proposal for the building which I believe to have the public’s heart at interest along with the arts, Sheffield and Hillsborough Park itself.
The charismatic white stone building appears to be reaching out for a help in hand, a rebirth. I believe I have a great idea to transform this aging building to something exciting. The building could be an art studio.
This would be an open studio which invites guests to discuss the arts, maybe even educate schools and host day trips for students. I also propose to display four permanent sculpture inside the walled park just next to the white stone building. One of the sculptures will rotate each year as I aim for artists both nationally and internationally to take a four week residency making site-specific works for Hillsborough and Sheffield. I am currently going through the process of applying for funding from the Arts Council UK to get the project up and running.
