PACHINKO
The rats have surfaced in light of the release date. Which means this blog is back in business because my whole entire existence exits to act as rat poison. I want to slander the antis by saying they know nothing about the film industry when in actual fact I am the one who knows nothing about the industry, and these people probably know more than I ever could, but at least I have common sense which seems to be the one thing they lack the most. Most of the hate I see about my man are surface level and EXTREMELYā¦EXTREMELY lacking in common sense. So itās right up my ally.
Can someone tell me how we are in 2022 and I have to see nonsense about my very well rounded man lacking in versatility and just being a āknight in shining armourā. I have a new conclusion for this. Despite the many roles this man has taken upā¦people have this knight in shining armour of him stuck in their brains and deeply indented and I think at this point itās less of something that he did and more just the perception that people have of him. Boys over flowers put him on the map but I cannot for the life of me see how that show makes him a knight in shining armour when his Gu junPyo was mostly just toxic over everything else, I am not cancelling out the fact that he really nailed that character down the T, but I donāt consider Gu JunPyo a knight in shining armour at allā¦even when I am drunk.
When I look at all his roles, the only one that has the knight complex has to be Lee Gon (TKEM), and keep in mind that this is only my opinion because for me most of his characters are less perfect men being at their prime and just being dazzling. I think most of his characters have been more about āfinding yourself ā more than anything, he has given various male characters that had visible issues and problems they needed to work on. So on the talk of versatility I wouldnāt even dispute him, he has served. During his drought I took time to watch various kdramas and I noticed that the male leads that people consider the most well rounded are the ones that do a lot of crime, mystery and thrillers, and I thought āhey come on , this is less an issue of my manās acting range and more these idiots not understanding genresā. Imagine not understanding how genres work and then blaming it on Lee Minho.
I can bet my life that if he had done lots of crime and thriller, the story would be different.
So as of today, whenever I see someone talk about Lee Minho and talk of lack of range or him staying in the same āknight in shining armourā role I will just assume that you lack even the smallest sense of self awareness and common sense.
Also I must add, characters are written in certain ways, the actors are not responsible for the way characters are written, so do not blame actors for the fact that their character is a good guy or nice guy or whatever.
So in conclusion⦠this is far from over because I will be back to promote Pachinko as if I get paid for it.
