While this is true. The criminalisation of drugs in America is also very much to do with racism and voting disenfranchisement. Started with Nixon but Reagan really pushed it, because they both realised if you say the country has a problem with drugs and then make the public associate drugs with people who are likely to vote against you (in this case its anti-war hippies and POC) you can arrest them and then they cannot vote

i think it’s silly to be ashamed of your art because it’s not in a museum and of your voice because it’s not selling out stadiums. there will always be people who enjoy and appreciate what you can do.
