hi everyone, my name is Julia! this blog is where I'll be sharing my law school journey - from studying and prepping to apply, to starting in Fall 2026. Ok… I officially applied to some law schools. I feel weird and like I want to cry lol. I am just hoping I have better odds than I feel like I do…

It’s so funny how law school is paraded as being accessible to everyone but you have to pay a bajillion fees to apply 😂😂😂

UPDATE: my request for fee waivers was approved!! I don’t have to pay for CAS or any of its reports!! This is amazingggg I’m so happy

Idk how I got so lucky as a student that rarely spoke in class to have the most amazing responses and assistance from the professors I asked to write me letters of recommendation 🥲 also my DC internship supervisor as well, all of them have been so amazing. Without their support and guidance I would never be where I am. This is also why I’d love to teach law courses in college at some point. I want to be to other students what they’ve been to me.

i just started studying for the lsat and found your blog! was wondering if you had any tips for which resources to use and any advice in general/how you studied?

Hey!! Thanks so much for the ask. I would highly recommend 7Sage; I tried so many things before that, but I really liked the way 7sage taught me. I liked how accessible it was, how the instructor explained his lessons and why answers were right/wrong, and I actually felt like I was absorbing the information. And after each lesson you would apply what you’d learned while it was still fresh. I hadn’t really been doing practice problems for each question type after learning them before (stupid I know lol). I was really just trying to stuff my brain full of all these rules without applying it.

I think my biggest tip would be to master one question type at a time, which 7Sage is great at helping you do. They have tons of practice drills you can do, filtering them by which type of question you want to work on and their level of difficulty. And there are practice tests too. I bought the core subscription which I think is a good deal compared to other prep courses.

And honestly another tip I can say I wish I knew sooner is to not put too much pressure on yourself to have studied a certain amount of hours a day, a week, etc. It doesn’t help if you overwork yourself and get burned out. I also didn’t enjoy the way I was studying in the beginning: poring over textbooks and not absorbing anything. It was hard to learn that way. But I feel like it became fun when I didn’t force myself to study when I didn’t want to, and didn’t take it so seriously if that makes sense. I hope my ramblings can be of some use to you lol. Hey guys I know I’ve been pretty absent on here but that’s mainly because I’ve been contemplating a lot about my law school timeline and what I want to do. I was holding on to this idea that I needed a perfect LSAT score, to get into a top school, and I never really stopped to think if I just wanted the appearance of succeeding in that regard or if I really wanted it. I know one thing I really wanted was to move far away from home and establish a life for myself (along with get a law degree of course). I had my eyes set on this one school for so long I never considered any other option. But after taking the LSAT four times, I realized I don’t think any huge change is going to happen in my score. I got my August results back today and they put me in the median of this one school in my state that I’m now completely set on going to. I would be in much less debt, I could commute there from the apartment I’m planning on moving into soon (so I wouldn’t have to up and leave it before my lease is up and move again), and I don’t have to abandon my life and relationships I’ve established here. It’s a good school, it’s connected to the legal market I want to work in, and it really feels like I’m making the best decision for myself. So overall I’m really excited. I also plan on hopefully doing a joint JD/MA degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies which I’m extremely passionate about. All I have to do is get into both programs. I’m happy to say I’m finally out of the years-long studying phase lol. 5.17.25 - 5.18.2

- this has been a very productive weekend for me! I studied for a majority of the day on Saturday and really focused on nailing down the question types I’ve been working on so far (Main Conclusion, Most Strongly Supported, and Point at Issue). Then I studied for a few hours today before going out for my Dad’s birthday

- I felt intellectually stimulated and engaged for the first time in a while which was a great feeling. I did a LOT of drills which I’m starting to find kind of fun lol

- I am really struggling with most strongly supported questions which is definitely frustrating. But I’ve been trying to go easy on myself and working on first getting through easier MSS questions to get more comfortable with them.

- I think before moving on to the next question types I’ve, I’m just going to keep drilling until I’m getting few (if any) questions wrong and feel more confident.

- also, kind of a side note, but I’ve been thinking about maybe starting a YouTube channel where I talk about all things LSAT, preparing for law school, film study vlogs, and maybe even do commentary about legal issues that interest me! Eventually when I get to law school I’d also love to document what that’s like too. I’d love to go more in-depth about what I’ve learned preparing for law school and show a realistic portrayal of what that looks like. If anyone has any topics they’d like to see me cover on that channel I’d love to hear from you!

hey sorry if this is weird but i'm also taking the june test. i don't have any friends who are studying for the lsat and thought it might be helpful to keep in touch/do practice qs together if u want? im a 25 yo girl btw. I've been PTing btwn 168-171 for about a month now.

- studied for a bit today and worked on most strongly supported questions. I used to struggle with these kinds of questions but it definitely got easier going through examples and utilizing grammar parsing to help me better understand the language being used

- 7Sage also showed me a motivational video from a law student who underperformed on her first LSAT and kind of gave up studying for a while and felt demoralized. That reminded me a lot of my situation; I went through a period where I thought I could never get to the score I want so I just gave up studying. But like the student in the video, I’m glad I started up again and I do have confidence that I can master the LSAT. If she could get to her goal score so can I

- I won’t be studying tomorrow as I’m going out after work, so I’ll see you all on Friday with another study update :3
