Haha… I have watched the video called “If Google was a guy” before, it is really funny. I am the lady who always find Google to search Facebook.
It is lucky, as Google was not a guy
That makes me wonder, If GOGGLE is a female, everything is mush more understandable :-P
I love watching the comedy so i always find some funny video in Youtube. This is one of the favorite channel for me~ It calls “Just For Laughs Gags”. They post many funny videos here and there is no any dialogue, only acting. you can relax yourself :) Hope you guys enjoy watching this :) Laugh :)

This YouTube video I have notice in Facebook sharing. Have you all seen it before?
I am first attracted in this video because of the title of the video. I am quite curious about the little girl of her crazy reaction.
This video surprises me because of the result after sharing effect. The little girl and her mother were invited to join the Ellen show. Also, it helps to create a meeting of the little girl and the singer of Maroon 5. It is so amusing and unbelievable. I cannot image the power of sharing can achieve the dream of the little girl. I hope I can have such an experience of my life through the impact of the social media. It is better be a positive experience instead of bad.
I do agree with you as that just like a miracle to meet someone you like, someone you have never thought that one day you will have the chance to talk with. But we are lucky as we can share her happiness via this video :)

What opportunities and/or challenges are online communities bringing for brands?
First of all, online communities can help brands to develop good insight. With the anonymous feature of online communities, participants are more willing to speak out their real desires and impression on a brand. Thought the discussion among online communities, consumer demands and expectation can be drawn by analysing their comments. Then brands can easily develop products or services to react to market needs.
Secondly, products can be evaluated by aggregating criticism on online communities. The introduction of social networking sites give people the opportunity to share experiences of using different products. With these comparison, brands can perceive their product performance and make modification on ground of the feedback from communities.
One coin have two side, despite there are many opportunities online communities bring for brands, still some threads are required for attention. As we all know, everything in Internet can go viral. If someone compose deficiency of a brand, whole online communities will quickly know about it. Therefore, monitoring and follow up is very important when we make use of online communities to promo brands.

From my own knowledge, big data is a group of statistic showing the characteristic of consumers. It can be used to analysis market demands, trends and consumer behaviours. In light of the practicability of big data, many companies planning strategies based on it. They try to get to market faster with products and services that are better aligned with customer needs and desires. In this post I am going to share two daily use of big data I have found to further enrich our comprehension on this topic.
1. Netflix
Netflix has become the largest provider of commercial streaming video in the U.S., with 29 million streaming video customers. It collects data about what users watch, when they are watching, where they are watching and what device they are using. It also has data on when you rewind or fast-forward, when you pause and when you stop watching a show or movie entirely.
Now Netflix is beginning to produce its own original programming and it is leveraging all that data to do it. By looking thought all customer behavior and preference, it decided to license BBC miniseries "House of Cards" for a remake. And it correlated fans of actor Kevin Spacey and director David Fincher to fans of the original, making it to hire them for the program.
2. Tennis Australia
Most of the year, Tennis Australia, which operates the Australian Open, resembles a small business. But during the two weeks of the Australian Open, it becomes a massive, data-hungry enterprise that requires uninterrupted access to accurate content, data and stats for instant analysis and decision-making.
Tennis Australia leverages IBM's real-time data analytics software to examine the tournament schedule of play, player popularity, historical data logs and volume of social media conversations to predict the data demands from fans viewing the tournament Website. Based on the demand, the technology is able to assign the appropriate level of computing power required.

Web 3.0, a word I barely heard before the lecture, now has made more sense to me. Form what I have learnt, Web is created by Tim Berners-Lee to link up electronic information. So far there are three stages of Web. First of all, Web 1.0 is a static web just for browsing. Only Website owners can write information. Web users don’t get to alter or comment, kind of like newspaper, is a one way communication. The next stage would be Web 2.0. Web users start to have the ability to contribute content and interact with others. Different from Web 1.0, it is a two ways communication. Everyone can be the message sender and receiver at the same time. What I can relate to is the former blog. I can post something about myself and also comment on other blog. To be honest, I at first thought Facebook also belongs to Web 2.0. But after looking into Web 3.0, I perceive that I was wrong about it. The Web 3.0 has the characteristics of data integration, individually oriented and intelligent browsing and searching capabilities. Facebook actually pretty fit for these features. It converges all data from users like individual preferences, browsing history and then analyzes it to give search recommendation and showing posts that individual would properly like. Let’s put it in this way: If Web 2.0 is people to people communication then Web 3.0 would be people to Web communication. Well, all the above comments on Web is merely based on my own knowledge. If I said something wrong, please take it easy on me ;-P

- Well, this course is mainly about new media culture, thus by using tumblr, a trendy network blogging system, as a practise on new media can help me experience the interaction with people online and get familiar with how message pass along in media.

-What I am interested most is lecture 6 which is about Youtube. Since I use it everyday, therefore I would like to know more about it and how it relates to culture.
