To Bid Thee All A Fond Farewell

This post comes with a heavy heart. I love this group so much. I've been with it when it first formed and I was with it when it was a different group and I was with it before that, when there was no group at all, but just a bunch of assholes who loved to RP together.

This group has been like a second family to me over the years. Even during my time away in 2012, I remained friends with some of the people in it, which is a tradition I hope to continue.

However, I'm now doing a freelance job. It's a great job and one that I hope to turn into a more permanent thing. As it stands, though, my hours are 3pm-11pm, PST for the next two months. Which means I'm not on whenever everyone else is. This job requires my full attention, so I can't RP while at it like I used to be able to. It's not fair to this group who has thrilling plots going on and deserves someone you can give you more time during the peak hours.

So, with a heavy heart and no ill will at all, it's time to take my leave. My personal account is thatblackwidowgirl and I have an indie Mina Murray account at presentlymina. Though I'm not always active on her for the reasons stated above.

I love you all and wish you the best in your RP adventures! Also, go see Avengers 2. It's worth it. ;)

  [He sat there drinking and thinking of what he would do next. There was not much left to do. Repairs to the building had been half way completed already today. Now all he could do was sit and wait again. It took him a few seconds to notice that he was being stared at. The people who happened to be looking at him he knew slightly also. Quill and his talking tree friend Groot. He argued with himself if he should go over or not. It would be polite to go over but he did not know how they felt about him now. He really should not care about that but for some reason in the back of his mind he did.]

"Hey!" Peter called to Tanaleer, throwing caution to the wind much as he always did. "Count Dracula! Nice cape, by the way. Come join us. Drinks on me." Peter looked to Groot, hoping his friend wouldn't object to this. Peter wanted new of Knowhere and other happenings in space and Tivan seemed like the best candidate. The outlaw had been far too removed as he stayed on Earth, away from his true home.

  Really now? [ Her head cocks to the side as she smiles cheekily, the little jab at him quite obvious. ] S-so what do you do?

Oh me? Not much. 

[ He put his hands on his hips in a little, heroic pose. ]

Some call me an outlaw. Others call me a hero. But really, I'm just an ordinary man trying to make his way in this crazy galaxy.

||    Quill’s choice in music was somewhat odd, but he had heard worse in other quadrants of the galaxy.  The trip wasn’t entirely unpleasant- he had missed the sensation of the ship humming along.  When they arrived, he shuffled himself out.   ||

(    You don’t have to ask me twice.    )

I am Groot.

||    He headed off in search of the bar.   ||

[Why he had decided to take a walk was beyond him. He never went out like this for long. Yet he found himself in front of a bar. He walked in and sat down before getting a drink. There was really nothing for him to do today anyway.]

[ After haggling a deal for the part for the ship he needed, Quill decided to meet his friend for a well deserved drink. Already the sights, sounds and smells of Knowhere was bringing back a wave of nostalgia for him. He had been on Earth too long and the uncertainty of space was calling to him. He missed it out here. ]

[ His thoughts were interrupted as an unruly duo wrestled across the pathway, causing Quill to stop suddenly, lest he get swept up in the brawl. ]

[ 'Yea', he thought. 'I missed this a lot. ]

[ After finding the familiar Groot sitting at the bar, Quill pulled up a stool next to him. ]

We're all set. I say we relax and enjoy ourselves a bit.

[ Just behind Groot, he caught a familiar sight. ]

Hey, isn't that that Gamora's old buyer?

||    Groot nods, eager to get off Terra, even if only for a short time, while the planet was so cold.   ||

(    Do whatever you have to, but I want to go to that bar.  You remember the one.    )

Groot.

[ Peter smirked, liking the Groot's thinking, and then he hopped into the driver's seat and put the ship in drive. ]

[ The flight didn't take too long. The pair was able to listen to a whole album of Nicki Minaj by the time they arrived at Knowhere. Peter docked it and lowered the back ramp. ]

Go on the the bar. I'll catch up after I've bought the part.

||    Groot pokes his head out from a small closet space.  At least, he was pretty sure it was a closet.   ||

(    I’m here, I’m here.  Calm down.    )

I am Groot.

[ After all his yelling, Groot turned out to be right next to him. Peter turned his head to the right and smiled at his friend.]

Oh hey, bro. I gotta take off for Knowhere. Shouldn't take too long but there's a part on the Milano I need replaced. You game to tag along?

Groot! Hey buddy? [Peter searches around the ship for his friend and then mutters to himself] How does one lose a seven foot talking tree?

GROOT?

  Groot- Oh! I know Groot! Big tree bloke, yeah? He’s a sweetie… Hard to understand, but very gentle.

Oh yea, The ol' Ent's a hoot.

I guess so… I can manipulate vines, if that counts as cool. Plus, uh—

[ She extends her arms in front of her, tensing slightly so that three thorns emerge from each forearm. ] I have more, but I tend to just use these three in emergencies. 

[He watches her arm carefully, looking impressed by her skill. It was far from unusual to him, though, and all he's seen on other planets]

You've gotta meet my buddy Groot. He'd go nuts over you!

  You— oh. [ She blushes, hands wringing together and leaves wiggling somewhat - both a kind of nervous tic. ] I-I’m, uh, g-glad you think so.

[He just smirks at her in reply, noting that her shyness may not be ready to handle the full force of the 'Quill charm']

Do they come with any cool powers or anything? The other mutants I met all have cool powers.

[ She looks entirely confused for a moment before eyes widen, a hand slapping up to her neck in attempt to cover the little leaves - but he had seen them already, no point in trying to hide it. With a sigh, the hand drops and her lips pull into a thin line. ]

I’m… From Earth. I’m a mutant, not an alien. [ Sheila takes a few moments to untangle herself from the baggy sweater hiding all the foliage, revealing the back of her arms and the back of her neck. ] Tah-dah.

Oh Right. A mutant.

[He keeps forgetting that those things exist. Earth had changed so much since he was a kid.]

[He looks at her arms and raises an eyebrow] That's kind of hot.

  Ah… F-fair point, sorry. Hey— what’s with the suspicion?! Can’t ya tell by my accent? If you think I’m a Kiwi, I’ll b-bloody snot you.

You don't need to keep up the act with me. It's cool. [He indicates to his own neck where he sees the scale like features on her skin] When did you come to Earth?

  You… Parked your home. Roight. [ She doesn’t look too surprised when he comes clean, the cover up having been fairly obvious. Then again, she didn’t notice him glance at her exposed leaves. ] Nah - foreigner. I’m from Australia originally.

What? You never heard of a mobile home? [he smirked at her, clearly teasing her]

Australia. Suuure. I'm from Colorado. [He winked, knowing she was lying. His lie was only a half truth.]
