Service dogs in 2018 are starting to become the purse Chihuahuas of the 80’s ….Everyone and their mom has to have one. Everytime i go in the comments of a service dog YouTube video, its “i have anxiety and depression, can i get a service dog??”. service dogs are expensive and a huge deal, they really shouldn’t be a first choice. And i don’t understand when people get mad when they are told to try all other options first. i honestly think people want them now just to feel “cool”. its annoying

Dont let others tell you you “arent disabled enough” and invalidate your experience.

PSA: just because you can’t see a person’s disability doesn’t mean they don’t need their service dog, handicap tag or other assistive devices.

PSA 2: a person having an assistive device does not give you permission to ask what’s “wrong” with them

grrr i stayed up until like 3 am being a depressed little shit. atleast i let all the bottled emotions out in a sort of healthy way. crying for like 6 hours straight is better than other things right? im so fucking tired tho lmfao. fuckkkk. i wanna go back to california to visit my friends alreadyyy. to see people who actually like me and want to spend time with me. people who actually KNOW ME. i have no one like that here :////

I think the hardest thing about training a service dog is not comparing too much to other peoples dogs. We have these dogs who we rely on, and who are amazing and good- but we keep looking at every little thing and comparing to clips we see others posting.  Sure that dog may have perfect 100% focus- but how long did they work on getting that 20-second clip?  Wow, that dog responded so fast to their cue- but how far into a training session were they? You never see the off days. You don’t see them when they get spooked by a loud noise and startle for a few seconds, when they don’t want to listen at home, or when they have a coughing fit in a store.  There are so many puppies who are 6 months old, going to stores every day, doing alerts and tasks, on and on. Or people who got a 3-year-old dog two months ago and they’re already doing PA and tasking and doing great. But you don’t see the drama and nonsense that goes on.  Dogs are dogs, they’ll always be dogs. They have off days, they take forever to train. And it’s silly to beat ourselves into the ground just because our dogs aren’t at the same level of these picture-perfect moments we see online.

Not only does it emotionally scar me, it makes me think that I might be lying and that I don’t have a physical illness but a mental one.

Chronic illness’ and diseases are called invisible for a reason. If you’re not sick you need to know that and if you are sick you need to remember it.

I was one of those people. My ex blocked me last year and I tried talking him on any platform I could find and asked people to tell me what he was doing on social media. I was FUCKING INSANE. It was NOT okay for me to do that. I eventually realized how fucking gross and stupid it was that I was doing that. So I stopped. And honestly? I felt BETTER. I didn't get to know about his life, and it helped me move on. It wasn't good for me to keep watching his life, it was holding me back from moving on. Now I'm over him and we are close friends, a year later. Never EVER do what I did to someone who BLOCKED YOU. It makes you an awful person. They blocked you for a REASON. Move the fuck on. Maybe if you do, you'll be able to fix your issues like I did! You're just torturing yourself and that person when you do that. Just fucking stop, stop stalking their social media, stop asking people to watch their profiles or talk to them, just fucking stop. I was INSANE for doing it for MONTHS. This is kinda a message for "past me" but still, listen to me and OP.
