I’m getting a new 3ds!! A New 3DS, even :)

Got a call from the repair shop today, and the motherboard on my old XL is fucked. Fixing it is tricky since it’s an outdated model, so they offered me a New 3DS XL. I said I’d rather have a regular size (because face plates and pretty colored buttons), and that wasn’t a problem :) They were out, but I’ll probably get it some time in January. And all for a quarter of the price of a new one. Woo!

Update: I just picked up my replacement 3DS, and it's not exactly what I expected. One, it's an XL (and I wanted a regular one), and the system transfer has not been done like they promised. So now I'm stuck with a different system than I wanted and have no access to my user account, including my e-shop history and funds, and no access to my Pokemon Bank, which needs to be renewed soon...

Mourning the death of my 3DS and the fact that I can't play Pokemon Moon anymore... Trying to find comfort in Black 2, a game I started ages ago, but I've only just now beaten the first gym. And a Mareep named Voltaire is improving my mood :) But the annoying thing is, I've contacted a repair service (the official Nintendo service in Norway) and they told me to contact the store where I bought the system. It's three years old, so no warranty, but hopefully they can help anyway. But it's been a couple of day and they haven't even responded to my email :(

Seriously, what the fuck is this? It's happened four times now, and after a couple of those times my 3DS has acted up and not wanted to turn back on again. Is my 3DS dying, or is something wrong with my Pokemon Moon cartridge?

So. Introductions.

I named my trainer Oxyrhynchus, my starter is Popplio because I like water starter. Named him Honolulu. Not sure how long he’ll stay on the team, though, I’m not really fond of Popplio’s evolutions…

I’m currently on Route 2, around the pokecenter there, trying to level up my shitty team before I do a trial thing. I have a Growlithe named Cupcake, a Cutiefly named Lemon (will probably change that name later), a Grimer named Grima (ugh), the mystery gift Munchlax named Totoro, and a Crabrawler named Coconut. They are all leveled 11-15. This should be interesting…

Ok, so it's been a few days and I've played Pokemon Moon for about four hours. (Yeah, I'm slow, but I've been busy.) And I have a few things to say... First, my first impression of the game: It appears messy. There's no set goal. A character even said, maybe I'll figure out my story as I go... And I don't feel like I've actually done much, other than being directed here and there by a bunch of people, and the Rotom dex I've just received now makes it feel like I'm still in the intro/training part of the game. Maybe I still am? I honestly don't know. I just wonder when stuff will begin to happen, or when I'm going to see some of the actual story of the thing. Idk. Second, I feel a little lost. Not in the geography, but I don't really have a plan for my team. Basically because there are no gyms and I have no idea what to expect and train for. I suck at team building, and this lack of direction is confusing and frustrating. Having a team of *everything* just isn't gonna work. There are tons of new Pokemon I don't know anything about (the pokedex app I'm using isn't updated yet), and I feel like I need to settle on a decent team soon, or in gonna be leveling up newbies for fucking ever because I'm always switching it up. I'm a creature of habit and have my favorite pokemon, but I don't know which ones are even in the game... I want to try the new critters, but again, I'm too impatient to grind forever to level up a bunch of babies. The Alola forms are cool, though. Means I can use the pokes I already know, but in fancy new colors :) So yeah... I'm only a little bit into the game, but I guess so far I feel like it hasn't quite lived up to the hype? Then again, I'm difficult, so who knows. What do you think?

So I started over my Omega Ruby wonderlocke. Kept my trainer name (Demeter), but chose Treecko as my starter. Should be better prepared for the first gym, but all those bug types in the forest might fuck me up... Named him Wunderbaum.

Well, shit. I just lost a wonderlocke for the first time... Picked up Omega Ruby after not playing for almost a year, to continue a wonderlocke I started ages ago. I had a buttload of traded pokemon on my team, but I can't remember what I caught and traded to get them. All of them had Japanese names, which was a bit confusing. I also had a Carvanha in a box because it was level 25 and I couldn't use it yet. My trainer name was Demeter, my starter was a Torchick named Vindaloo, and the rest of my team consisted of a Zigzagoon, a Wingull, a Ralts and a Swablu. I dreaded the Rustboro gym, where most of these would be useless, so I tried to level them up. And well, Zigzagoon became level 13 and didn't listen to me anymore, and then I lost Ralts to the fucking twins on the bridge. Lost the rest of my team to the gym leader's Nosepass because I'm stupid and it's been too long since I did this... Time to reset and try again.
