I had to erase and redraw that eye like 10 times, you have no idea.

The spine of my 2025 scrapbook broke. I'm cannibalizing the pages and putting them in protector sheets in a binder. As I go back to these pages, reorganizing the stories, preparing to scan the pages, I think there's something to be said about the variety of scrapbooking styles there are. In a way, this does sound obnoxious - scrapbooking, after all, only exists to take on the designs other people have already made. How can there be style if it's only a collage of other people's work?
But there is style. Folks often use blank pages because they plan on covering all the details. I use graph paper because I like being able to have a grid to line up, and the white space I leave behind have the grid as a pattern to support the design. That, by itself, is very much a stylistic choice.
As I peel the backings of my punched out stamps, I hear my family who don't understand the point of scrapbooking. I don't want to monetize my hobbies. I want to create art.
Yk the Five Below watercolor sketchbook is pretty solid actually. Unlike the Canson XL, this paper doesn't warp terribly with too much water. It also doesn't really absorb water at all, but that's a different issue.
Found a drawing of Matt from earlier this year, and oml. The Deku-ification is real 😭
Started off as an artfight drawing for a friend like... almost 3 years ago? I finally finished it last month. Lots of things I'd change if I did a full redraw at this point.
Obviously there's no wrong way to scrapbook/journal/collage/whatever-you-call-it, and haters exist everywhere for everything. I'm perplexed though why there seems to be this niche drama/beef with journaling on TikTok. It's a video someone is sharing online. Of course it's a performance. That's the point.
I fear in the search for something authentic, people forget the camera isn't always on. It's not fair to assume that these people are buying these supplies for one-time use because it's not there in the next video. Even if they were though, crafters are frankly infamous for hoarding supplies for "special occasions" that never happen. Why is there a special disdain when that dragon-hoard crafter posts on TikTok?

Yo, I'm finally posting again. Gingerpilot my beloved, it's Poe wearing Hux's coat.
Edit: Forgot the alt text, fixed now.

I love Simon and Betty sm... here's a screenshot redraw tribute to Fiona and Cake with my favorite OC couple!! Presley and Meimeng 💙 In the process of letting Meimeng's hair grow out, she should be allowed to experience some gender euphoria, methinks.
pretend the date doesn't reveal I've been hiding this in drafts for 3 months
