FUCK, I though it was just another lucky meme but LISTEN. Since a week ago I was waiting a phone call to confirm me if I got a job or not in my university. I reblogged this yesterday’s night “just for fun and because I don’t want any bagel to be mad with me”, and today’s afternoon, while I was losing my time as always, the professor I was supposed to work with called me and asked me for my personal information to start working with her.

I have been really wanting to post my own artwork to tumblr. But I have always found myself too anxious and chickened out due to my anxiety and overthinking it. Worrying people might steal it or not being able to keep up with posting due to my own life. Even asking people questions not anonymously is gives me too much anxiety. And I don’t want to put it off because I have always had this anxiety when it comes to posting anything and putting it off is just gonna make it worse. So I guess I’ve come to ask is posting worth it and or just any advice? I just want to share my fanart, theories and hyper-fixations to others with the same love for the same piece of media.

Let me tell you a secret, anon... I have the same fear. It is frightening to share your work and thoughts with others out there. Even if it is only commenting on an artwork or trying to make connections with other people. It can be terrifying when you're an extremely anxious person. To have your work out in the open to be judged, or that feeling of yelling into the void because no one seems to notice what you do... a lot of people share the same fears and frustrations you might have.

But one of the greatest things that might happen to you is that if you put yourself out there , you can make the greatest connections and friendships you can imagine. Thanks to posting art online, I met my best friends and my partner. Not only that, it is also a way for you to grow as a person and as an artist. It is remarkable what experiences you can make by just sharing your work. All you need to do is make the first step, even if it is scary.
