7 Ways to Take Advantage of the Moment
This sponsored post was created in collaboration with Fresh Start Moving Crew!
Hi everyone! Long time no blog! Even if you've been living on another planet, you probably know these past few months have not been the easiest for a lot of people. There has been a ton of stress, illness, and upsetting news in almost everyone's life. But, one of the things that I have learned during this time is that life moves on, no matter how bad the minute, day, week, or month is and you need to be ready to adapt, work hard, and also take advantage of the current moment. So, how do you take advantage of this moment - with the pandemic in mind? Here are a few ways:
Spend Time With Family Either you had/have a lot of extra time to spend with family, or you did not get the chance to visit your family due to the virus. Whatever your situation might be, I’m sure that you realized how important family time really is. If you took it for granted, I hope that this time has changed your perspective on it all. Family is so important and the fact that a lot of us were forced into taking a breath (instead of hustling non-stop) was so great for all of us...as long as you really took advantage of it and prioritized family!
Consider Moving Interest rates have never been lower! It’s a great idea to take advantage of the interest rates, the amount of people wanting to sell their home in order to make a good financial decision for their family, and the current market. When you do end up moving (if you take advantage right now), make sure that you support local businesses while you are making your move. This will not only help local families and individuals, but it will also reduce your stress load, as well. A great business that you might want to consider supporting during your move is Fresh Start - The Moving Crew. They have been the best local New England movers since 2012 and are committed to handling your move with the three E’s: ease, experience, and efficiency. The owner, James Cooper, has put together a team that lives and works in New England. That’s why they are so familiar with each and every one of the region’s neighborhoods. This is important so that your move is efficient and goes smoothly. James Cooper seeks to earn your business by providing a moving service that is based on trust, compassion, reliability, diligence, and care. They respect every aspect of the move and they treat your property as if it is their own. This means that they will take special care when it comes to packing and moving your items. They take on all of the risk so that your move is as stress-free as possible! Fresh Start - The Moving Crew is a team of Worcester MA commercial movers, residential movers, packers, and more.
Use Your Stimulus Check For Good Do you still have your stimulus check? If so, use it for good! In fact, I’ve heard that you will probably be receiving a second, as well, which was just talked about last night. If this happens, make sure to use your check for good. Pay off your debts, invest the money so that it grows over time, use it to reach your goals, support a local business that is struggling, etc. Money does not grow on trees, but this is as close as you will get to it, so use it very wisely.
Reevaluate What Is Important To You A lot of people are reevaluating what is important to them and I think that is so great! I actually recently talked with a dental hygienist who decided to change careers in the midst of the pandemic. She randomly started taking flight school and has her final test this Friday. She had always dreamed of flying planes, but never imagined that it would be a reality. This pandemic and the downtime that she had was amazing for her because she took the bull by the horns and made her dream come true. I hope that all of you do that, as well. Is your career making you happy? Is your life where you want it to be? Ask yourself the necessary questions and figure out if and how you can make your dreams come true, as well.
Improve Your Health Like I mentioned above, a lot of people have seen illness in their lives recently, or they have been scared of becoming ill. This has led to a worldwide initiative to improve health. People have started taking more vitamins, they have started eating healthier and working out, and they have focused more on washing their hands, in order to stay healthy, as well. This really is the perfect opportunity to start working on your health, no matter what it specifically means to you.
Get Outside The weather has been amazing in Massachusetts recently, so now is a great time to get outside, especially if you have been stuck at home or in an office for weeks on end now. Did you know that it also has health benefits, as well? Vitamin D is essential when it comes to our immune health and soaking in the rays can boost the natural Vitamin D within our bodies. Some foods do contain vitamin D like salmon, but did you know that most people get about 90% or more of our vitamin D from the sunlight?! If you still need more convincing, let me give you a few more facts. Research shows that kids in elementary schools who spend more time outdoors vs. the ones who do not, are less likely to develop nearsightedness! Research also shows that the indoor air quality is worse for us compared to outdoor air quality. Get outside to detox and suck in all of the fresh air that you can get. This will help with your overall health, mood, and it will even help you become more creative, due to the fresh air and sunlight - it’s the perfect way to reset when you are having trouble concentrating, or if you are feeling down. There are just a few fun facts about why you should definitely get outside while the weather is amazing right now!
Take Comfort in the Familiar Again, with social and public health news changing literally every day or even every hour, it can be hard to keep up! Doing things that bring you comfort is more important than ever. I love plants and have so many around my house, so it makes me feel good to go around concentrate on them for a little while - watering, trimming, etc. When the world seems too big, it helps to go small. Take that silly selfie with your pet! Wear your best clothes around the house, even if you have nowhere to go. Just do what you love, what makes you feel good and hopefully, it’ll get you through these uncertain times. One thing that I take comfort in is blogging more, so I hope I can keep doing it more!
