Super Important Announcement!

Um... Hello everyone. If you’ve read this blog, you’d know of Leia’s C.A. whose name is always redacted upon his personal request. However, a certain bet was made and as the loser, I have an announcement to make.  

For those who don’t already know (or haven’t figured it out by some of the clues Leia sometimes shared on accident), my name is Ludger Will Kresnik. My older brother is the head of Spirius’ Technology Department, Julius Will Kresnik. I’ve been a fan of Crown ever since I was in grade school, and I still am now despite the news about his involvement in the Striborg Train Crash. While I won’t ask anybody to change their beliefs on his innocence or guilt without proof of either side, I hope everyone comes to see my personal hero for how I see him.  

So... Because my name’s now out there, you can expect Leia to mention me by name instead of the elusive. “My C.A.”. It’s still a little nerve-wracking for me, but a promise is a promise, and I lost fair and square.  (⌒_⌒;) 

To everyone reading this, I hope you’ve been enjoying the scope into future Ace Detective Leia’s life! And as for those posts about me... honestly I’m not that bothered by them. Besides maybe the one where Leia recording me singing; I guess I never realized how hard I get into a song  I really like. (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

And no Leia, I’m still not going with you to roughhouse a potential gang member. I let the cliff thing go, but I’m not comfortable condoning wandering into Duval and hoping we don’t get lured into an ambush by thugs and get hurt... or worse.

#CaseNoteThoughts: My Future Office

So y’know how the Crown case is going to be my breakthrough case? I was thinking since most detectives in books have their own office, what would my future office be like? Who would I hire to work with me? What kind of clients would I accept or turn away? Well I thought it’d be fun to share what I thought of! 

I know for sure my office’s logo would be the same as our family inn. Dunno if mom would okay that, but I think it would remind the people of Elympios the secret treasure of Rieze Maxia: my family’s inn! On that note, I think I’d keep my office in Trigleph since Duval’s apparently not the best place, Drellin’s waaaay by itself, and Marksburg has most businesses relegated to stalls [and I’d want my own building of course  |･ω･)]. My office wouldn’t be the stuffy, gloomy type you see in movies either-- I’d have sunlight peeking from every corner with a dash of pinkist flair! I’m sure Elize would appreciate that. www 

As for who I’d work with... that’s a toughie. Working with Ludger’s been fun, but he worries me being associated with a future gentleman thief may bring bad publicity. I wouldn’t mind of course, though good guy Ludger of course does the worrying for me. Guess I’ll have to see how well I jive with my Daily Trigleph officemates. 

Now clients, this one’s a bit obvious: I’d try to take on any case I’m given! Can’t find your cat? I’m there! Another conspiracy on the level of Crown? I’m on it before you even have to tell me! But if there was too much on my plate, I think I’d prioritize the smaller stuff; detectives often tackle the big stuff, so the little guy often gets left in the dust. I’d love to be the detective who people think of whenever a problem comes up, big or small, so it seems natural to establish myself as the “Of course I’ll find your cat or retake your purse!” detective. I’m sure Alvin’s just waiting to joke about me being a cat wrangler cuz I used it as my example.

So that’s the whole dream in a nutshell! If I get more crazy ideas while jotting down notes, I’ll be sure to write them here!

I’m sure my readers have a big question in their minds: where’d you go this time, Leia? We actually had a tiny massive crisis at the Daily Trigleph office.  It all started when our main sponsor, Mr. Marx, reported to us that he may have to divert some of the funding he donated to the paper to find his cat, Julius Catstantine the Third. Losing Mr. Marx’s help would gut us hard, so all affiliates working out of the office were asked to help find Catstantine, including me. 

When I brought it up to Ludger, he was gung-ho to help cause that’s actually his grandpa’s cat! Maybe I should’ve figured that out cuz their last names are both Kresnik, but we got other priorities! (ノ*°▽°*) Apparently Catstantine ended up in a fellow flatmate’s apartment (she’s got so many cats, one odd one out just blends in), but the minute we opened the door, they all ran out! Now our 1 cat problem got 100x worse with 101 cats we had to find! 

They all stayed in the country, but I didn’t realize how big Elympios really is when we took at least 10 train rides a day to grab a cat, bring them home, and then head back again just in case there were more in town. How some of the cats managed to hop on a train and go to Marksburg or Drellin... I can only wonder.  ┐(￣ヘ￣;)┌ 

ANYWAY, this story does have a happy ending: we caught all the cats, and we found Julius--the cat, not Ludger’s brother--lurking around Marksburg near some fish crates! Ludger took an honorary photo once I grabbed him. 

NGL it is a bit weird just how much this cat looks like Julius. I didn’t even know they make pet safe hair dye, plus imagine the styling it takes to get that perfect tuft of blonde hair! What matters though is we’re back in action! The goofs and gaffs haven’t ended!

To a Happy New Year’s Day!

I’m sure my mom’s heating up a lecture for me staying up super late today, but I couldn’t let this year go away without a proper sendoff! 

It’s weird to think of a time back when a tech-focused world like Elympios would’ve been something I’d skim in a SciFi novel. Now I’m sending memes at completely appropriate times (no matter what Alvin says otherwise!!!!) while updating my friends and readers on how my work’s been going all without having to handwrite a bunch of letters with a million Slyphjays taking to the skies! It’s all so... just a lot! But I’m glad that I was a part of making this world for both Elympios and Rieze Maxia living and working together happen! 

But of course, I can’t let that journey just end with a little world savin’ action; there’s still plenty of problems from someone’s cat going missing to a massive potential cover-up by one of Elympios’ big companies. While I can’t fix ‘em all, I as an Ace Detective hope to help that big list of problems get smaller day by day! 

To all my readers, I hope we both have an awesome new year!  (((o(*°▽°*)o))) Be sure not to forget ur deadlines tho! I uh... I learned that the hard way last year when the chief told me, “You were supposed to report your progress last night when I’d taken all of New Years to goof off.  o(>< )o

Ludger’s Super Awesome Party Mission: Success!!!

Things are just finally starting to wind down around here, so it’s time I keep my loyal readers from dying of suspense! And lemme just come out and say it: the party was a 10000000000% success! I haven’t seen Ludger smile that wide since.... as long as I’ve known him!  And in a way, I kinda felt like a proud mom watching her son take his first baby steps when I saw Ludger talking to Alvin, Balan, and Yurgen like he’d already met them. Altho it’s hard to tell if he’s grown confident or my mom giving him a lecture to “stop being a stiff and talk to the kind people making your day special!” scared him into faking the kind of confidence he reserves for me and Julius.  

Dad used that Wild Boar meat Alvin promised to hand-deliver for porkchops and man, I didn’t realize how much I missed Dad’s cooking until I took my first bite! But really I shouldn’t have expected less from my #1 chef in the world (Ludger’s a #1.5)! Apparently it paired really well with the expensive Napple Wine Alvin brought-- sadly I wouldn’t know if that’s 100% true cuz mom would kill me if she saw me so much as reach my hand towards a bottle of alcohol. The adults sure enjoyed it at least, although nobody enjoyed it as much as Alvin did. 

Alvin’s so drunk, he admitted to us in a drunken rant that he got scammed when he found out his favorite Fissmauge necktie was actually a knockoff you could buy for 1/10th the price he bought it for! I kinda felt bad for him, but it was also really, REALLY hard not to giggle as Alvin almost cried on the spot by falling for the kind of trick he’d pull before he went clean. 

Sadly for all you Julius fans out there hoping I’d get drunken rambling dirt on him, he drinks like a tiny sparrow: only very tiny sips at a time, and he’s got water on reserve. NGL I’m a bit disappointed myself... I’d love to see Mr. Upright-and-Cool become Mr. Blubbery Mess! Ahwell, maybe another time! 

Oh, but one more thing before I post this! When I was checking my room (we’re staying the night cuz I mean my house is an inn lol), I saw this note on my bed:

I was so worried I forgot, but please tell Ludger I wish him a happy birthday and next year if he comes down to Leronde, I'll make him a nice Chicken Leronde to celebrate. You too, be sure you visit for your birthday. I do miss cooking for you.

I'll be sure to tell him for you and for Mom (cuz I'm sure she would too)! Actually I also forgot to say something too: we were considering coming over tomorrow so Ludger could see how we in Leronde celebrate birthdays!

I'd asked him when we were out touring the local arcade how he'd been celebrating his birthday up until now, and he said he's never celebrated his birthday with more than his brother and maybe one or two friends! Apparently that's just common in the big city cuz it's a lot harder to plan get-togethers when everyone's parents (or your friends themselves) all have day jobs or different obligations scattered thru the week.

On one hand, I totally get it; they say life in the big city moves fast, so not everybody's got time to sit around and have cake with someone outside their family. But on the other, I can't imagine a birthday without having a whole group jump out from every corner of your house to scream "Happy Birthday!" and cheer while you blow out your candles! As Ludger's friend, I refuse to let him lose out on that experience! ( #`⌂´)/

So lemme ask you and mom now: come tomorrow, get everybody ready for a big birthday party please cause the belated birthday boy's gonna be on his way come noon! We're gotta show this city boy how a family celebrates if it's the last thing we do! (*￣▽￣)b

If I throw in a hand-delivery for that Wild Boar meat, could I meet you and Luds there? I’ll even bring our most expensive wine if that sweetens the deal. We’re talking 100,000 galds’ worth of merch free of charge waitin’ for its invite! Who’s gonna say no to that kind of deal?

Alvin, he’s never even seen what you look like outside pictures-- you gotta work up to the “cupcakes on Ludger’s birthday” privilege! If you want cupcakes, you gotta at least say “hi” to him! 

But as for that invitation to Ludger’s surprise birthday party, consider this your invite to go! Bring whoever you’d like too so long as you all show up to the lodge at 11; it’ll ruin the surprise if you guys end up taking the same boat as us to Leronde. If you do everything right, I’ll tell Ludger that you were looking forward to a cupcake too and he’ll make one. Asking now will make it too obvious you’re going to meet up with him somewhere! You can wait a few days for yours, Mr. Adult.   (；￣Д￣) 

BTW, I don’t owe you any favors cuz of that; you’re the one who risked us getting sick if the meat was bad for us! Totally justified!

I figured if you're posting birthday wishes for my brother, it's only natural his big brother joins in; I'd have to turn in my Big Brother license otherwise.

Happy Birthday Ludger, I'm more proud than anyone you're beginning to dip your toes into the world around you. Tell him to check his closet later tonight; I have a special replica tool for him I previously refused to make because I thought it'd be too dangerous for him to handle. He's clearly ready for it.

As for your impression of me, I would give it a 7/10. While I do talk somewhat formally around others, I do relax a little when it's towards or regarding a friend. And I'd add a few more tomato-related metaphors.

Thank you for helping collect Happy Birthday messages for Ludger, but be careful how far you take jokes next time

The real Julius appears! Never thought I'd see an ask from you! But yeah, DW about me getting the valuable lesson-- just the thought of my mom grabbing her staff to go kick Alvin's butt was sobering enuf. I don't think there'd be an Elympios left on the planet after my mom was done w/ him. ヾ(。＞＜)シ

Still, I'm glad my impression of you got a passing grade! Guess I thought since it was serious, you'd be 100% objective and sound like Jude whenever he nags me about deadlines and all that stuff on his do-gooder checklist. Dunno if I'll ever need to impersonate you again, but if I do, there'll be 100% more tomato references in your honor! Specifically Rieze Maxian tomatoes (Ludger told me they're your favorite)!

I'll be sure to tell him abt the gift in his closet when we get back from his birthday day out! We already made dinner reservations for a party of 3, so you better be there tonight! Ludger says you always swear to eat 1000 needles if you lie, and we'll buy that many needles on the way back if we gotta! (`皿´＃) Just be sure to also say when to come back; I can only stall for so long before Ludger thinks "Why can't we just celebrate at home?"

Leia, sweetie, I was so worried about you. You shouldn't give your readers a scare like that, particularly when your dear parents are reading your blog. Your mother had just snatched up her staff and was about to take a boat to Marksburg before I showed her the rest of the message.

Aside from that, perhaps the next time you visit us, you could bring a frozen sample of the meat? It might taste wonderful with our Hammerzam Stew.

OSHOOT I TOTALLY FORGOT YOU AND MOM READ MY BLOG-- I'm so sorry for scaring you both! (*_ _)人

I just thought becuz Alvin was setting us up like we'd be lucky if the boar meat didn't hurt us in any way, I'd give him a little scare and show him why me and Elize are always reluctant doing favors for him! Trust me it was all completely safe! I even had Julius ask one of his Spirius friends give their professional opinion of whether or not it'd be safe to eat, and he gave the okay; I wouldn't eat something unsafe even for a favor!

But as for giving you samples, Alvin said he had a few pounds waiting for a buyer if we did like it, so I can try calling him and seeing if he'd be happy giving you and mom a few pounds for free as a second trial run! Altho Julius said even if Alvin wants money, he'd be cool with paying as a "thank you" for helping me celebrate Ludger's birthday; it'll get to you guys one way or another!

The News Regarding the Wild Boar Bacon

Good afternoon, Leia’s readers. Though we’ve never formally met, I’m sure avid followers of this blog are at least somewhat familiar with me. But for the sake of formal introductions, I am Julius Will Kresnik, current head of Spirius’ Technology Department. 

As for why I’m suddenly taking the reins, unfortunately I have bad news: the Wild Boar meat given to her by Mr. Svent proved to proved to be toxic to humans. Apparently a Wild Boar’s blood carries a certain protein that when it mixes with a human’s stomach acid, a chain reaction begins dissolving the surrounding organ tissue within a few minutes of consumption. Luckily (as inappropriate as that sounds) the foul taste can clue a person in to try and force the meat out of you, but even a small piece reaching your stomach can be disastrous. 

My little brother is currently helping her throw up the bacon, although I have contacted a few friends of mine from Spirius’ Medical Department to make a house call in case Ms. Rolando’s condition worsens beyond what the untrained like Ludger and I can do. They sounded optimistic so long as she didn’t swallow a whole pound of meat; Ludger insisted she didn’t eat that much to her good fortune.  

Until we hear news of either variety, this blog may go silent for a time. My brother thought he could try to continue its legacy, but he’s unsure if he has the same, “creative spirit” as Ms. Rolando. I’ll admit, she does have a certain something apart from other girls her age. But there was a draft for a post she had queued, so perhaps to lighten the mood, I’ll addendum it to this post below:

HA, I bet that sounded just like Julius, didn’t it~?  (￢‿￢ ) Actually I had that plate of bacon and it tasted really good! Even Ludger tried a couple pieces and thought they’d be a major improvement to his breakfast cooking routine! 

If you’re reading this Alvin, lemme say as your faithful test subject, the monster meat as rappig meat substitute plan is a good one! Me and the birthday boy enjoyed our meal! Although maybe before you pitch your ideas to people, don’t make it sound like they’ve got a .0000001% chance of survival; by the time I tried a tiny bite to see if I’d just keel over and die, the bacon got kinda cold and we had to reheat it. It probably would’ve been even better fresh but being alive > a tasty plate of food.  (￣□￣」) 

Now onto celebrating Ludger’s birthday! If you’ve got birthday wishes you’d like to give him, send ‘em to my blog and I’ll show him everything! He’d appreciate it!  (ﾉ´ з `)ノ

My Super Impromptu Will (Also Wish Ludger a Happy Birthday Plz!)

So Alvin asked me for a sinister favor last night, and like a smart girl who prioritizes her survival, I was juuust about to tell him no before I was on speaker and Ludger says, “Sure, we won’t be busy tomorrow outside celebrating my birthday.” Which since it’s the word of the birthday boy, I just agreed too against my better judgment.   (＃￣ω￣) 

That “favor” is having us both sample a plate of bacon made from Wild Boars from Galia Trail compared to a plate of good ol’ rappig bacon. He said, “It’s probably fit for human consumption, but I dunno what it’ll totally do to your stomach”, which gives me so much hope in surviving this plate /s 

So, since I couldn’t possibly ask my kind and faithful CA to get sick (ordie) on his birthday, I’ll be eating the Wild Boar Bacon first while he eats the Rappig one. And thus, lemme prep a super quick will just in case it kills me:

All my cool stuff (like my staff, my case files) goes to Ludger since I won’t be around to give him any more birthday gifts; hopefully what I’ve got is good for the many, many birthdays he’s gonna have in the future!

All my normal stuff (my old clothes, old toys, basically everything back home), Mom and Dad get to keep those and do whatever they want with them. Give ‘em to the kids down the street, make a shrine out of ‘em, you have my blessing!

Big News: Penmanship Increased by 200%!

For everyone’s that met me IRL, they know one thing about me: my handwriting? You gotta press your face right against the paper and squint your eyes just right to make out what it says. I still remember the disappointed look the DT’s assistant editor gave me when I handed over my finalized case notes about New Domovoy roughing up openly pro-Rieze Maxian-Elympion reporters to try and keep Elympion public opinion down low; I could tell he really wanted to tell me, “Does this even say anything?”, but he was nice enough guy not to say it.  I 100% didn’t envy (￣ ￣|||)  (SO hyped to use emoticons again btw! I didn’t avoid writing on my blog as to not extend the embargo! Nope! 100% unrelated!) 

Anyway, I was jotting down notes and Ludger all of a sudden asked me, “Do people complain about your handwriting at all?” I was completely honest and told him how I once had to do an homework assignment 5 times cuz our teacher couldn’t actually read my answers, and he actually related! He said there was one time Ludger tried to leave a handwritten note to a girl he liked’s locker, and she’d thought Julius sleepwrote it! And I thought looks of disappointment were insult enough. lol 

And soooo speaking of Julius, I asked what his handwriting looks like, and he showed me his handwritten design documents for the early consumer GHS models. I should’ve taken a picture because it was like the Great Spirit of Penmanship called upon its messenger to show us inferior penmen how it’s done; if Julius was lying and said he used a typewriter, I’d believe it! He said he’s had to practice becuz the Tech Dept. team does their design docs by-hand, so if nobody can read your writing? The project could be set back a whole day! Which for tech, apparently one day behind is like wasting a whole month’s of worktime. I’m just glad it’s never been that bad for me and the paper. 

Since I was obvs envious, Julius gave me a list of exercises he does to practice his penmanship, and man, my messenger metaphor somehow came into reality. I’m nowhere near Julius-tier, but I showed the assistant editor a sample of my case notes and guess what he told me? 

“This case really is gonna be your breakthrough; this has been the neatest your writing’s looked in ages!” Even the chief (who usually just shakes his head at me), smiled just a tiiiny bit when he took a look himself. If you’re reading this, thx so much Julius! If I were to tier my helpers on the Crown case, you’d be #1.5!  ♡ ～('▽^人) I’d feel bad dethroning Ludger cause Ludger’s already dome 10x the work I’d expect anyone to do helping a random Detective he met on the street. So Julius is only close to top!

A Warning to all of Julius’ Fans

DO NOT PLAY POKER WITH JULIUS. HE’S REALLY, REALLY GOOD.

IF YOU PLAY TO WIN, BE READY FOR TOP TIER DECEPTION!

So maaaybe after I beat Ludger last night and he wrote that most this morning, my ego got a biiiit too inflated. Cause the second Julius got home, I asked if he would play me at Poker; when I said that, I could see Ludger vigorously shaking his head behind me despite Julius being all for it. But I was ridin’ so high, I thought, “Sure Julius probably plays more confidently than Ludger so he’ll be a tougher opponent, but I completely dominated my last best of 5! I got this!”

Turns out not ony did I not have this, but I went 0-3 in our best of 5.  How did that happen? I’ve got a really good example:

About midway through our 2nd game (we were doing best of 5), I managed to get dealt a straight flush of hearts! Course with a hand like that, the best thing to do is go all-in and get that easy win, right? Well by the look of Julius’ hand, he could’ve possibly had a straight flush of spades with a higher ending card (aka by tie breaking rules, it’d be his win). I was ready to disregard that and wager my full might on this awesome hand, but he looks me dead and eye and smiles as he raises me! And at that point, I’m thinking, “Wait, he must really have this! I don’t wanna go to Game 3 already with a 2-0!” and I folded. 

And you wanna know what happened? HE FLIPPED HIS LAST CARD AND IT WAS A 3 OF DIAMONDS! He totally duped me into chickening out of the best hand I got out of the 3 games we played! If I stuck to my guns, I could’ve made that at least a 3-1 but nooooo, he played me like a fiddle! 

Now imagine moments like that, but spread them across 3 entire poker games. I though I knew all about how Julius worked and thought before this game, and I sure paid for that hubris. So as a girl of her world, for the next week, I can’t use a single emoticon in anything I write. Texts to my friends, nope. This blog, also nope. If anyone sees me use an emoticon in writing anywhere, my “No Emoticon” ban has to go for another full week. 

I’m sure some people think, “Oh that’s barely a punishment!”, but you don’t understand-- emoticons are what make texting actually fun! Without them, the only real fun is when you and the other person are trying to tell jokes with each other! And just cause I’m banned from using them doesn’t mean Elize, Ludger, or whoever can’t taunt me with them! This loss’ll be felt every single second until it’s overrrrrrr!

Loooooong Overdue Case Update!

So sorry for going silent again! Buuuuuut I did actually learn something from an acquaintance that I sadly can’t name (altho this time it’s not due to shyness but legit being put in danger)!

So there was something I’d wondered right from the start: since my theory is the true culprit lured Crown onto the train and then had Exodus crash the train while weaponizing the media against Crown, how exactly did the culprit tell Crown about the plot? They obviously couldn’t just go up and tell Crown themselves without being apprehended on-sight, but unless they were sure Crown’d hear of the bait, all that prep to frame Crown could end up as one big failure. 

Well, I got curious and thought, “Y’know, I’ve got a friend who deals with “dirty” secrets-- I wonder if they heard about Oscore Train hijacking early?” Because if they knew about the plan beforehand, that’d mean someone who wasn’t Exodus must’ve told them And sooooo if there’s a 3rd party who’s been sharing early warnings of the hijacking, then my theory of the true culprit spreading rumors to try and catch Crown’s attention isn’t a complete shot in the dark! 

I called them up this morning and guess what: they DID know about the hijacking a whole month before! Sadly they couldn’t tell me who spilled the beans to them (and even if they did, I don’t wanna paint any targets on someone’s back. I uh... know how that feels quite literally), but I am a detective; figuring out what a person can’t or won’t tell me is part of my job! So I’ve got a next step in my case: find out which group was spilling the beans to my friend and then maybe find a member and get a few answers out of ‘em! 

Also mini-step, convince my C.A. to consider going with me as backup just in case that “getting answers” part doesn’t go so well. I suggested that and he gave me that same look when I jumped off the cliff at the highroad.

Why My C.A. Loves Crown

Y’know it was on our trainride back to my C.A.’s apartment that I thought, “I never really asked him why he became the ultimate Crown fanboy”. Might’ve been a liiiittle too forward to come out and ask him, but a detective’s curiosity must be endless! And he did agree to tell me so +1 for the blunt force approach! 

He’d prefaced the story as being “really silly”, but his love started more with the idea of an ordinary person breaking free from irrelevance to become a well-beloved figure by helping his community in a way nobody else could (or at least tried to). So my C.A. thought he’d try to act more like Crown (without the going out to steal valuables or bust crime) and he actually saw some success when a girl from his class invited him into her friend group! I’ve talked to that friend too and NGL she and I are kinda similar. Maybe that’s why he was so open to me unlike what his bro told me at dinner when I first met him. |･ω･) 

Oh but back to the story, he did eventually get hooked into the sheer spectacle of Crown’s hits enough to beg his brother to make him replica tools (sidenote: those things are super cool. Still considering paying Julius a month’s salary for my own set lol). Now fast forward to today, he’s at least close to if not actually Crown’s #1 fan and remembers every article published about Crown by heart. I tested that claim too and he wasn’t kidding-- he recited a random 450 word article from 8 years ago without a single missing or changed word! Makes me wonder when I publish my article on him, will my C.A. try to memorize it too; it’d be a dream come true.  ( ◡‿◡ *)

Ah, I feel like I’m getting off-topic a lot this post. Srry if I’m not making much sense. 〜(＞＜)〜 Anyway, point is I was both surprised and not to hear the whole story. The friend circle thing was def new-- hi to that friend btw cuz she does actually read my blog! Although from what my C.A. told me, she follows any blog she happens to find so she’s “The friend to go to when you want the juicy gossip of the day”. 

Still I take that as an honor-- I’d rather be like a cool glass of porange juice than a dried up napple! ....Wow, that comparison sounded a lot cooler in my head. ;; Ohwell, I’ll keep it cuz maybe you guys’ll get what I meant!
