Hello noodle!I really want to make more fun drug thingy stuff and like stuff of my own, but I'm having some serious lack of confidence when I'm drawing. How do you draw things like faces and heads or even bodies? I hope I'm not being bothering
I’m self taught (and actually drawing is my very recent hobby) I don’t have any cool-professional-art-reference-stuff to offer (sorry, heh).
To be very honest, i don’t even think those things are that important.
because drawing is literally a HOBBY and there’s no reason to be stressed out while you’re drawing! your artwork is super cool and no one can judge you, friend. enjoy yourself!
one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
One of my college professors used to say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” I didn’t understand that for years because I didn’t do anything poorly, I couldn’t do anything poorly, I had to Do Everything Perfectly.
But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting. Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible. Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible. Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.
Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly… because doing it poorly is better than not doing it.
I have a really cool idea for the final fight for my campaign, but I’m having issues on figuring out this one bit. I think it would be cool if 7 cannons were used on the enemy lines. They each would fire out some sort of magical energy, based on dragon heritage.
I’m struggling to figure out a) the mechanics of a cannon (in terms of combat), b) how to streamline it because, let’s face it, rolling for all of them one at a time is insane, and c) how to figure out damage and stats for the cannons.
I have a table with ranges made, to let me know how many cannons fire. And another table that I can roll to determine who fires (as who ever handles the cannon determines the magic type). But I can’t figure out damage amount, or how to deal with cannons. Do I roll to see if they are used, then to see if they hit, then damage? Or do I roll to see if they hit and then damage? I mean, it’s a lot of rolls but the only experience I have with cannons is in Pathfinder and it wasn’t handled the greatest (there was at least 3 rolls when using them and I’m pretty sure half of us did it wrong).
Any tips or suggestions on how to handle this?
if you have creatures manning the cannons you can just treat it like a ranged attack option on that creatures turn. even if you’re using dice for most things, as the dm its fine to use an app on your phone for some behind the scenes rolls for the sake of efficiency.
as for damage, make sure you dont make them too strong; none of your players will mind if the cannons aren’t realistically powerful, but they’ll probably be upset if they get killed in one turn by having 10 cannonballs hit them before they have a chance to heal. keep in mind that it’s possible for all 10 cannons to hit, even if unlikely, so make sure the max damage isnt enough to one-shot any of your players at near full health.
one more idea you could use: perhaps the cannons need a turn or two to be reloaded, so you can keep down the number of attacks per round. maybe you could also roll dice to see how many cannons will fire that round, and if you roll higher than the number of loaded cannons you can just fire whats ready. this would balance it out a bit so that you never get two major attacks in a row, and so each round they go easy on the players is a round that theyre set up with the possibilty to do more next round.
Found some hands tutorial by me
Not in English but hope it will help???????
Some tutorials I ran across for hands and arms that I thought people might be interested in! (Unfortunately, not all in English, but hopefully still useful!)

HEY ARTISTS!
Do you design a lot of characters living in not-modern eras and you’re tired of combing through google for the perfect outfit references? Well I got good news for you kiddo, this website has you covered! Originally @modmad made a post about it, but her link stopped working and I managed to fix it, so here’s a new post. Basically, this is a costume rental website for plays and stage shows and what not, they have outfits for several different decades from medieval to the 1980s. LOOK AT THIS SELECTION:
OPEN ANY CATEGORY AND OH LORDY–
There’s a lot of really specific stuff in here, I design a lot of 1930s characters for my ask blog and with more chapters on the way for the game it belongs to I’m gonna be designing more, and this website is going to be an invaluable reference. I hope this can be useful to my other fellow artists as well! :)
i made a custom character sheet for d&d (5e) that you can feel free to use, and since you’ve all been good little boys and girls i even made an example so you can see how it would look.
you can always trace it or use it as a reference to make your own if you really can’t stand my handwriting.i won’t sue
Whoops I forgot to include a page for spells and stuff. Apologies to all magic users who tried to use my sheet.
