Leyla was surprised as the illusion spoke, watching the former princess and queen of the realms. She could understand such a thing-- if she had the power she no doubt would attempt to do this with her own mother, one more chance to seek her comfort.

“Yes… we should definitely take a look,” Loki grinned widely. His dimples deepening at the touch of her lips. “And when we are in London, I will take you to a show there… perhaps Shakespeare. I know there was a production of Coriolanus going on in the west end before I left.”

“That would be an amazing trip.” she agreed, softly smoothing her hand over his cheek before sitting up. It seemed his lunch might be over as more of his colleagues returned. “I’ll see you this evening.” she offered, giving him a soft squeeze on the shoulder before getting up to head back to their room.

Leyla smiled at his praise, putting her phone carefully back away. “Mmm, it is only fair to also be your turn.” she agreed. Her fingers began to gather her hair, twisting it into a ponytail. “Close your eyes.” she ordered him, giving him a small look. It was only when he obeyed that she moved to the chair, undoing the knot for her top and letting it slip from her back as she lay on her front. “And now you can begin.”

Loki awoke just as the sun set beneath the horizon. He stretched languidly in his bed before slowly sitting up. The young vampire glanced around the room. A faint chuckle leaving his lips as his eyes focused on the closet door. He could feel her. Their connection. It pulled at him and he knew it did the same to her whether she liked it or not. “Well done….” He nodded to the two wolves who had quickly moved to his side when their master stirred. He petted them each in turn before standing and moving toward the door. “Do you really think you can keep me out? Open the door, my sweet…”

Leyla caught a few precious moments of sleep as she sat in the closet, all the trunks and belongings meant to act as a barricade as she curled up on a nest of clothing in the back. When she heard the familiar voice she came awake, eyes glaring through the darkness at the door. “No.” was a single word that left her lips as she remained there, refusing to budge despite the pull in her body.

“Now,” Loki divulged simply. His dark green eyes gazing firmly into her own. “I will advise the guards and once… He will be free before the sunsets…” He hoped that this might bring a bit of happiness to her. She was so miserable the evening before and it pained him to see the once bright and playful woman he had met to be so downtrodden.

Leyla’s hands remained tightly tangled in her skirts, trying to ground herself as he spoke. She didn’t trust him, and no doubt wouldn’t until he actually followed through with it. Her lips twitched slightly, almost something like a smile but it wasn’t for him. Instead he got a slight bow of thanks before she slipped a few steps back. “I want to spend that time with him then.”

“Whatever it is you’re looking for, I’m not interested. Doubt you’ll have much luck finding it here, but be my guest and have a look around. Just don’t expect me to help.”

“Well that’s awfully cold of you. No wonder you’re all alone out here.” she quipped, glancing up from the piles of various baubles and goods. “Ever considered organizing? Getting a catalog?”

He barely made it to the door, and he was leaning against the frame as he lifted his blood-covered hook to pound weakly on the door. Gods he needed them to open it—and soon. Better yet, he needed them to open it now. Hook was breathing heavily, wincing with every move he made, so he tried to be as still as possible, his hand clutching the wound at his side as he tried to keep pressure on it—but it was doing little good. 

Finally, the door opened. 

He barely got out the “Hey, love,” before he almost collapsed.

He grumbled, the frown still on his face, but Hook didn’t argue, the pain from the sword’s slash fading the more he put it out of his mind, concentrating on eating (slowly) and the drink. He took the offered kabob with a nod, but it was for the glass of rum that he reached first, bringing it to his lips for a swallow. It burned pleasantly on its way down, Hook letting the feeling wash through him that the rum always seemed to provide. Especially now, when it seemed to lessen his pain. He picked at the food, now, just eating a bit.

Leyla was pleased to see him eating, recovering. She’d hardly let him have enough to get drunk but she’d allow him the drink enough to ease him. After all, it was the only pain killer she possessed. When she finished her next piece she got up, moving to clean up the mess and leave him to the last. As promised, she gave him another glass once he was mostly done with the kabob, patting his shoulder. “I can draw you a bath if you wanted to get cleaned up next? We’ll worry on finding your crew when you can move without cringe on your face.”

As they moved through the forest, Hook kept close, still on the alert for the slightest inclination that they were being pursued. At the moment, things were fine, seemed alright. But it was a long trek back and anything could go wrong at any minute; he knew that. He’d lived that. 

“Then we’ll hope they don’t find the tunnels.” For Hook had no doubt that their pursuers would be riding after them, using every chance for speed that they could. He watched her as she stood near the tree, Hook pausing when she did and raising an eyebrow at her. “Not really a good time to take a rest, princess.”

Leyla knew they needed to keep moving, to rush forward and get back.. But the tremors in her body were not willing to listen, her limbs wanting to give as she gripped the tree’s trunk. “Just a--” she breathed, freezing only when she heard the distant whiny of a horse.

The shock of that sound was enough to spur her on, her body jumping back into it. The careful pace was forgotten, the dancer taking to running as she started to lean more to the left, winding her way through familiar woods as she tried to find the clearing she needed.

Killian frowned. In a way, she was right. No one really wanted to be ordered about. But then, that was their place, just as it was his to rule someday. Everyone had a place, a station, and Killian knew his. The servants knew theirs. What was the problem? “I don’t–You were rude. It’s not like I punish every single servant in this castle. You deserved it.”

“I was rude? You mean I stood up to a bratty Prince. So if anyone puts you in your place they should be silenced? That’s the make of a tyrant that gets stabbed in the back by his own people.” Leyla warned, not bothering to get up as she kept her sharp eyes on him.

An eyebrow arched upwards at the scoffing sound that came from Tsuris over his comment.  The genie did have a talent for reading people, that didn’t mean he always got it right on the first meeting.  There were those who were difficult to fully understand without more conversation, and then some who simply remained a bit of an enigma no matter how hard he tried to figure them out.  Besides, that talent normally laid more in wishes; and if she had any he wouldn’t know at the moment.  That, as well, took a bit of time.

The fact she had quite a few weapons, and likely more he couldn’t see, was enough to give him the impression she was not someone to mess with.  Cyrus was confident with his own skill with a sword, but that didn’t mean he wanted to use it unless the need arose.  “I assure you, I feel no need to inform Alice of this.  From what I can surmise you did not mean it in the way anyone walking past at the time may have thought,” he replied with a smile, still not impressed with the way she’d just latched on to him and not given him an option. Sadly there wasn’t a way to fully explain his anger over it, she had her secrets and he had his.  While he didn’t feel her to be a threat to himself, at the moment, the knowledge of what exactly he was happened to be something she didn’t need to be privy to.

Staying silent as he followed her through the people milling around the streets, he had a feeling she knew quite a few places to hide in plain sight.  This woman was quite a mystery, while she seemed to have no issues being forward when the need arose she obviously kept certain things close.  That and she obviously knew the place well, although the colour of the door did make it a bit obvious.

Keeping an eye on Tsuris, the genie made his best attempts to not become overly distracted by the numerous voices and somewhat loud conversations going on around him.  Once in awhile all the noise could become a bit much, so used to being alone or with only Alice. Soon she stopped by a table, and despite being unsure she might not appreciate the gesture, as she did seem quite independent, Cyrus moved to pull out a chair for her.  Smiling a bit, he looked to her. “I am sorry, as they say; old habits die hard.”

Leyla was light on her feet, nearly dancing up the steps to the loft. The high ceilings caused the sound to drown up here, tenants in this section often wanting quieter conversation. While she would usually be down in the gaming tables, robbing everyone blind, it was now important to hide. 

When he suddenly stepped around her to snag her chair she stopped, the hidden princess raising a brow before slowly smiling. She normally hated formalities, but he did hold a point. Her body curtsied on its own, moving to take a seat and waiting for him to join her. “They take time to get used to, yes.” she agreed, curling her legs beneath her before tucking her skirts. 

“This Alice of yours, she should be able to find this place and we can watch the door from here for if she arrives.” she offered, nodding her head down to the space below. It was also a perfect place for her to run from, the window at her back opened to a roof and led to the alleys to let her flee if needed.

It was a usual night for Bucky. Him and Steve had decided to go out on the town. Though, as usual, his friend could never keep up. One drink had him out of it. With all the conditions he had, it was a surprise that he managed to even drink as much as he did. Bucky was honestly worried. So he got him home and got him in bed, which was far easier than it sounded. Steve weighed next to nothing after all. 

Once he was done, he headed back out, walking down the damp streets back toward his own apartment. He wasn’t all that drunk from their night. Then again, he had a better tolerance than most. Though he wasn’t out of it enough to dismiss the stir of activity from nearby. Some men gathering around the alley as if interested in something happening there. For now, he simply kept watch, reaching in his pockets as he lingered slowly behind, still walking but not too fast so as to observe the scene.

Engel slowly found her footing, stepping around the questionable lumps and puddles of the alley as she tried to get to the street. The faster she could find out where she was, maybe the faster she could figure out all the rest. She paused when she reached the street, glancing around to see if anything might be familiar until a shrill whistle cut her out of her thoughts. 

The grins and cat calls were a surprise, her arms winding around her middle as it finally dawned on her just what condition she was in. “Not. Interested.” she said simply the moment one of the ‘gentleman’ came forward. Her arm was just as quick to jerk away as he reached for her, the coaxing calls of ‘come on’ and ‘why not’ earning a glower as she tried to side step them further into the street rather than back into the alley.

Engel flinched as she slowly came to, her head pounding as she tried to figure out what was going on. Her hand closed around a small trinket, carefully running the tips of her fingers over the metal. The chill and grit of concrete at her back alarming her that something wasn’t right.

With a groan she gave sitting up a try, running her hand over the back of her head, accessing if she had gotten hit.  Her eyes slowly opened, glancing around the dark alley. How did I get here? What’s going on? The thoughts began to flood through her mind as she slowly gathered her legs beneath her, trying to get to her feet.

As she moved along the alley towards the street the thoughts continued, the one worrying her the most being the simplest: Who am I?

Leyla narrowed her eyes at him, waiting for another lie, or a tell.. There had to be something in it all. When he instead made a remark on the guards she drew a step back, fingers curling against her skirts. “When?.. “
