This text is my comment under my art. Im REALLY BIG FUN of space and stars. I was very sensitive to the Barney metaphor because cmon he is definitely NOT Moon. The moon symbolizes loneliness and longing, and perhaps Barney can be described like this, but it also makes him independent. He's a very deep character with his own inner world a.k.a. Earth with humans u know. But without Gordon... his fate is unenviable. Gordon gives life like the sun, but he also burns.

Gordon is also much further away than it looks, but Barney doesn't care. He holds him tight before letting go for decades.

I see a very clear parallel.

I'm not a proponent of the theory that Benrey and Stain are one character, BUT. This whole episode in The Chronicles of Benry has always seemed to me steeped in irony and mockery. Scorpy couldn't have known in advance, I think, but maybe this is an accidentally created meta-joke on himself. Anyway, there is something poetic about the way the Benrey's model is falling apart. At the same time, the Stain's model seems to be unable to remain stable, without quivering and twitching. And how the distortion of faces resonates with each other, not only in the Chronicles, but also in the first part in principle.
