A Torch against the Night
This was deep and dark and twisty. If you thought the first book was good, this blows it out of the water. You get more POV character chapters which adds another layer to this story.
I was cheering for Laia the whole time. She’s this strong character who still has her own insecurities.
I can’t wait to read book three!

Am I glad I read it? Yes - Black’s writing style has changed dramatically from Tithe to Cruel Prince. I had read somewhere that Cruel Prince is set in the same world as Tithe, so this reading was for research purposes, but I don’t think I can stomach reading the other two.
