Calling a young girl “mature for her age” is a grooming tactic. It sets a standard for this young girl to live up to; now, to continue impressing this man, she must be “mature” for her age, which means whatever the fuck this dude wants it to mean - most likely that she’s open to sex, doesn’t call him out on his shit (“is chill”), and let’s him get away w treating her badly (see “chill” again).

It also serves to stroke her ego and make her feel special. This dude has a vested interest in cultivating an “us against the world” fantasy in this girl’s mind because his creepy ass KNOWS there will be pushback from somewhere and he’s preparing her to view it as a trial their love must face rather than a very serious sign she should leave him.

It’s high key illegal to make any kind of nazi joke or gesture in Germany. People can get fired for it and in extreme cases even arrested. On my class trip to Berlin this kid thought it’d be funny to do a Nazi salute in the parking lot where hitler died (was not a destination, just happened to walk by). He was immediately pulled aside by police who legit booked him a flight home for the next day, without the rest of us. He was suspended for two weeks too.

Funny how the country responsible for this takes full responsibility and fights to make it never happen again, while the US, who spent years basing an entire identity on fighting Nazis, gives them a platform to speak freely and draft members.
