hi guys i was trying to rescue a big fat bumblee bee and all i had on hand was a moon snail shell so i caught it in that and took it outside but now it won’t come out. i shook it a few times but it just buzzed angrily from deep within the shell.

so anyway if i accidentally just created a new species of shell-wearing armored hermit bees that’s my bad. sorry.

I’ll answer with Baz since I’ve been posting about him the most lately:

#5 (Have they killed anyone? If they have would they kill again? If not would they kill at all?)

Bazroph has not killed anyone. He has fucked people up in self-defense though, and while he very much wants to avoid killing People, if he needs to in order to protect something important to him (e.g. his friends or home) he would do it. Since he currently has a curse that doesn’t let him die (permanently (which he actually got due to refusing to kill someone)), he wouldn’t purposefully kill anyone if he was the only person in danger.

#11 (Do they have a found family?)

He’s got two! One is a small family of elven farmers who let him stay with them after he got banished from Hell, and the other is the group he’s currently traveling with in order to look for a way to break his curse.

#15 (Are they neurodivergent?)

He’s autistic. The community he grew up in is pretty accepting of him so he doesn’t have any big traumas related to it, but it does still cause issues sometimes, particularly with communication. One of the problems he’s come across since banishment is having an even harder time telling what people are feeling than usual. Non-demon races don’t have the expressive feathers around their face and only some of them have movable ears, wings, or feathers in general, and they also tend to have voices that come across as monotone and use different non-word vocalizations.

Bazroph has consistently been my favorite for about as long as he’s existed. He’s a Swiftfell demon, based loosely off of falcons, and the kind that gets summoned as a curse given by their deity. Baz got summoned a total of once before he went directly against his summoner’s orders and, as a result, got kicked from Hell entirely and given a different curse, where he instead dies a lot but is kept from joining the magic, their afterlife.

He’s a funny little (for a demon, giant for a human) guy who’s on a quest to break his curse and return home, but, well, it’s not the easiest task when the one that cursed and banished you is a literal deity, and he’s also got too much compassion and curiosity for his own good, so he gets off-track a lot.

He’s acquired a number of bad habits since his time on Earth, such as eating too many apples for his carnivorous stomach, or asking the whole of magic for favors (many cultures have warning tales against this involving people getting turned into animals or other such permanent, undesirable effects). He leaves gifts for the magic and talks to it first, which gives him better results than others, but the only thing that’s kept him from becoming another warning tale is the curse that resets his body after every death.

Being a demon on Earth tends to be lonely when the only ones that people are any level of familiar with are under the control of summoners with ill intentions, but he’s found a few people who’ve helped him on his way. Namely the group that he travels with now in search of a dead mage’s hidden vault, with the living embodiment of the mage’s shed regrets to lead them.

Updating Bazroph's outfit refs so I can finally give him the backpack that I always forgot he was supposed to have, plus some other minor changes to fit with lore.

It’s just about the anniversary of the first time I drew Bazroph in 2021, so here’s a redraw! It feels like I’ve been drawing him for so much longer hahah. I’m still having a hard time believing it’s just a two-year difference.
