I just turned off the submit post option on my blog because an anonymous user keeps submitting a weird video that may have to do with delirium in general, but not Delirium by Lauren Oliver. đ

âImpossible. I close my eyes and reopen them: the boy from a dream, from a different lifetime. A boy brought back from the dead.

June 4 - Friendship
Normally Iâm the friend that recommends books to everyone but my friend Meg recommended the Delirium trilogy to me a few years ago. Since then itâs become one of my all time favorite series and Iâve gotten to meet Lauren Oliver and have her sign my copies! Thanks to friendship Iâve discovered so many fantastic books!Â
His eyes are exactly the color of early-morning sky. When he smiles, I think he is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

âItâs me, Alex. Lena. Your Lena. Remember? Remember 37 Brooks, and the blanket we used to keep in the backyardââ âDonât,â he says. His voice breaks on the word. âAnd I always beat you in Scrabble,â I say. I have to keep talking, and keep him here, and make him remember. âBecause you always let me win. And remember how we had a picnic one time, and the only thing we could find from the store was canned spaghetti and some green beans? And you said to mix themââ âDonât.â âAnd we did, and it wasnât bad. We ate the whole stupid can, we were so hungry. And when it started to get dark you pointed to the sky, and told me there was a star for every thing you loved about me.â
I know that the whole pointâthe only pointâis to find the things that matter, and hold on to them, and fight for them, and refuse to let them go.

âHow can someone have the power to shatter you to dustâand also to make you feel so whole?â

âI guess thatâs just part of loving people: You have to give things up. Sometimes you even have to give them up.â
I said, I prefer the ocean when itâs gray. Or not really gray. A pale, in-between color. It reminds me of waiting for something good to happen.

Take it from me: If you hear the past speaking to you, feel it tugging at your back and running its fingers up your spine, the best thing to doâthe only thingâis run.

I think itâs nearly been a year since Iâve posted on this blog. I miss it! But Iâm currently in the middle of writing an art history research paper for my finals. This is the last week of the school year for me though. I might be a little more active here in the summer. :) I have a link I wanted to share in my next post.
