In your Ninjago thing, the one with the twins. How might Kai react to his twin merging with ocean? What about when she returns(I can only guess with slight aquatic traits and not the best memory at the moment)?

I think one important thing to mention here is that a lot of the headcanons I made were centered around the movie - they’re totally transferable to the show tho
Anyways. Considering I cooked up the whole twin thing before Seabound, I never even thought about that before! It’s been a while since I thought about the specifics of that headcanon, and I don’t quite remember everything I wrote originally, so some of my opinions of how stuff works, etc, might have changed tbh!
In my headcanon the twins are super close, I mean, in the canon they kinda are too? But we all know the fandoms vice with how the show treated Kai and Nyas relationship when Nya merged with the sea and Kai had like. barely a reaction to it.. obv he would be way more devastated, in the moment maybe even begging Nya not to leave him - if I remember correctly I even speculated a possibility of Kai being the younger twin, so that makes Nya merging with the sea and „leaving“ Kai kinda pack more of a punch
I like Kai’s development in the show of him being super angry and just wanting to let his anger and frustration out after Zane’s death, ending in him becoming pretty self-destructive - to him finding a better way to handle loss and setting up a small dojo teaching students after Nyas death. It’s another way it shows his character development through the seasons - and honestly I don’t think them being twins would change that, maybe one of the banners Kai got hanging outside the dojo would even be blue for Nya :)
Then - when Nya comes back - I think the biggest shock would be that they aren’t quite twin-like anymore
I like how some people portray Nya after returning to being human with the markings she had while she was merged with the sea - and those markings would definitely set the twins apart from each other
I think the hardest for Kai however would be the general feeling of loosing his twin, they’ve never been separated like that, much less one of them being essentially „dead“ - of course both twins are their own person, but it surely would do something to loose your „other half“ - and of course, Nya not remembering Kai while merged is heartbreaking for him
