Happy Friday the 13th
I'm so excited for season 3!! Their outfits in the trailer ate, as usual 😌
Serving cunt and whatnot.
Anyways, sorry for being gone for 2.5 months, I was just recuperating from the ST5 finale (and other shit I guess lol).
I still love the fan content, but I think I'm more or less completely done with the show. Let's just say, if I were to rewatch it, it would be in at least a few years, and I'd only rewatch the first 2 (or maybe 3) seasons...
Anyways, still love the byler fandom, you guys rock! <3

thank you for your services :D
I was going through my old sketchbooks and I found this from 2022:
I was off by over a year... I was also so excited for S5 at the time, and for it to come out 3 and a half years after S4 and for it to be so BEYOND mediocre, 15 year old me would be so dissapointed :')
since the creators like to leave so many things in the finale ambiguous then I'm running with it and making my ship canon anyway lmao. they belong to us now!!!
Yes, they meet up accidentally during college, yes, they never stopped thinking about eachother, yes, they're now free to face those feelings!!!
Imagine writing a finale so terrible it got half the fandom theorizing it was fake and there's an actual finale coming our way. Truly bizarre. (Love reading those theories tho, they're so fun).
Anyways, I'm doing my part with a little fix-it fanart :) I tried to make it as big of a tribute for this ship as possible. I've had so much fun these past few weeks interacting with this fandom, I'm truly grateful I've found a little space for myself in here. And I'm glad so many people enjoyed my art and stayed with me for longer, I am so thankful for you all! 💕 Reading your comments, sharing excitement with you and interacting in general has been a highlight of my days! I think it got me through this winter, it was a really nice escape. And an intense one. Whew.
I hope to create more fanart for this series in the future, maybe branch out into other characters as well. I'm still full of ideas! But for now I feel like I need to take a step back and let this hyperfixation fade out a bit. I need to focus on my college assignments for now, maybe I'll even find some time to work on my comic, but in the meantime I'll be posting some art that has been waiting on my drive :) I also still need to process the conclusion to this show, cause geez. Feels kinda terrible. But I'm glad to be a part of this incredibly supportive community. Never stop being so passionate, fun, and creative, y'all are amazing 💕 I've learned so much about storytelling and visual symbolism thanks to all the people's analysis and I can now implement it into my own art! And all of you should too! I can't wait for what the fandom comes up with now!
Lots of love 💙💛
No, there is no secret ending. Yes, the weird fourth wall breaking and Truman references are still intentional.
The point is, Mike Wheeler the storyteller is unhappy with his ending, and that's why he's a storyteller. He'd rather write fiction than live his reality. He is the narrator of this story, and always has been. He has little to no interiority because he's not supposed to be a character in this story. He's just there. Will and Jane are the main characters.
The show always used recurring door imagery and metaphor, and we are told quite explicitly which doors Jane, Mike, and Will chose in the end. Jane chose the first (death), Mike chose the second (acceptance of fate), and Will chose the third (escape).
Jane represents childhood magic apparently, and although I feel her character was done injustice, I can dig a character being tied to an allegorical concept. So really, that means Jane was an allegory in Mike's story. Perhaps representing childhood wonder, first loves, and innocence? Therefore her death signifies the loss of childhood, and even the death of love itself.
Mike imagines an ending where She (magic, wonder, love) lives on. She's free but she's also isolated. On her own like that, it's not so different to being kept in Mike's basement or Hopper's cabin. Mike must associate something very shameful to these concepts, otherwise he wouldn't constantly hide her away in his story, despite loving her so much.
Still, he wants to believe in this alternative ending where Jane, who is love, and innocence, and magic, lives on in relative peace. He implies that simply believing it can make it true. Will believes too. They share a meaningful look before being interrupted by an opened door, and it's their last ever interaction on-screen.
No, there is no secret ending. There are many endings, and it's just that we've only been shown one of them. The bittersweet one. Mike killed magic, first love, and childhood wonder. Then he gave Will the good ending. Mike thinks the good ending is having Will no longer love him, and sending him far away from him.
Finally, he chose the second door. This means he didn't write the ending he wanted, but the ending he felt he deserved. He will never tell the true story of the mage. As in, he will never clarify what Jane actually represented, and what her death truly meant to him.
I am choosing to believe in this for my own peace of mind (even though its still kind of depressing)
:)
michael you need to lock tf in its all up to you now.
So, the lesson here is that if you are different and deal with any kind of disability, and your life will be more difficult due to that difference or disability, you should probably just die. Be grateful for the men in your life who kept you trapped like a little bird before your untimely death. That was just because they loved you so much! (Jane).
Also, if you are emotionally repressed and self-involved, and use fantasy roleplay as a means to escape your clearly unresolved mental health issues, you should continue to self-isolate and sabotage your relationships. For uh... reasons. (Mike).
And if you're gay, you need to learn that not everyone is gay like you! Some people are straight, silly! But hey, after being abused and orally assaulted, you will eventually meet a nice guy in a bar. Just don't gay kiss in public! Ew! (Will).
These are our outcasts and freaks, dawg. This is our show that said forced conformity was killing the kids.
Haha, I have to laugh or else I'll cry :')
