Hello, sorry to bother you with that topic but I was really devastated when the Rebecca picture returned, even more connected to Wesker than in RE2. I would really like to know if Nakanishi decided to make an easter egg canon lore since it's such a popular easter egg and there is definitely a weird side of the fandom where people would be more than happy if Capcom confirmed Wesker is sexually interested in teenage girls... But on the other hand that would mean that they made it canon not via voice lines, lore files, Cut scenes etc but through a puzzle you don't even have to encounter to proceed in the game... And I hoped Capcom is finally above weird sexual stuff... But maybe since Wesker is a villain they find it fitting he's also a pervert? But that's extremely distasteful making someone especially a young girl like Rebecca a victim without it being a serious topic but a puzzle and easter egg Leon doesn't even react too. That also mean they didn't even care enough to fit the timeline since Wesker already returned the book before Rebecca was even part of the RPD... Or did they retcon this? Also the picture was an undeveloped film roll... How could be there a developed one? Did he make copies? Did he or someone take the same photo twice? And why is it a collectible file for a trophy? Would Wesker creeping on a teenage girl be just a fun fact for them they give you a trophy for? A silly little but canon side fact? But that doesn't change how incredibly creepy and unnecessary it is... Will they change him into a full blown sexual predator or pedophile in Resident Evil 0 remake? I would love to finally know the truth if RE9 made him a canon creep even though it started as a non lore easter egg.... But I doubt Capcom would talk about this since people prefer to spam about Leons Ring....
Hi, it's okay, but... Oh my god... I am so incredibly sick and tired of getting these delusional paragraphs from people who are single-mindedly obsessed with finding "proof" that Wesker is a "sexual predator" 😭 (I've been asked about this many times before. Here's my old post, that's all you need to know). You all are overthinking a 90s easter egg to a borderline unhealthy degree. You are literally trying to find deep chronological lore in a silly collectible.
By this logic, if Leon finds shotgun ammo inside a random trash, does that mean Capcom is hinting at a secret storyline about a trash-dwelling gunsmith? No. Rebecca's photo is a nostalgic running gag and a fan-service easter egg, nothing more.
And even if Capcom brought this easter egg back in re9, it means absolutely nothing except pure fan-service. Right after that, we literally find a keychain of Wesker's sunglasses from re5. Where is the logic in that? There is none! This isn't some hidden hint that Wesker is a sexual predator. And there's not a single hint that he likes minors! It’s just a running joke that has gone on for too long. That's the only truth.
