Some Outtakes from the series ' The Plight of the Fishermen' by Joanne Coates
Today’s a day to talk about crowdfunding.
My friend Joanne Coates is curating an exhibition for the photography collective Len Think and they are reaching out to the public (that means you) through their PleaseFund.Us campaign to secure some funding to make it happen. The private viewing is on the 6th of June and is counting with the presence of The Caterpiller Circus (that awesome ska band I was talking about a while ago). If you pledge at least a fiver, you get an invitation to the viewing and get hang out with these talented photographers, plus a great gig. Quite the bargain, I’d say! Please check it out and contribute if you can. Even £1 is a help!
Just recently, my friend Liam Creighton successfully funded his Kickstarter project for his upcoming short, ‘Exposures’. Whey! Congrats! The film is about a young model and her struggle to make it in the fashion industry, whilst keeping her personal life in order. I’ve worked with Liam on a number of films, and know he is extremely talented, so I assure you this is one to look out for! There is still a day or so left, so you can still get involved if you want. Also, they are currently looking for an actor/actress to play one of the rolls and are searching for one on Twitter, as mentioned in their latest update, so if you are an actor/actress in your early 20’s looking to get in on a good project, tweet a headshot to @Exposures_Crew with #exposurescasting.
Last, but not least, I’m helping out my main man Joe Giacomet with his upcoming Kickstarter campaign for his next project ‘Cash For Gold’, a sequel to his award winning ‘Ronald’s Dirty Secret’. I’ll be talking more about that very soon, so stay tuned!

A Depiction of Desolation
By Joanne Coates
Surreal rural situations are typical of Britain, they define the modern age, and show how drastically spaces can change in a matter of years. The spot I have chosen to photograph has special meaning, it is Urra moor the highest point of the Yorkshire Moors, surrounded on one side by the RAF Fylingdales, whose purpose is to warn the government of impending missile attacks and on the other by a 23 acre power point amidst one of the most natural areas in the UK. Much like the RAFs motto ‘Vigilamus’ nature is watching the hand of man.
this is the way i wanted it to be with you, this is the way i knew that it would be with you
