I furrowed my brows and smiled nervously, “What?”

“I believe in you. My faith, hopes, and love belongs to you.” He said, laying a hand on mine. “The sunrises and sunsets are made beautiful because they speak of another day spent or to be spent with you. the sound of wind rustling through trees calm me because I know you draw your breath from that same wind. You’re my religion. A god before my eyes.”

I exhaled a nervous laugh, shaking my head and flushing deeply, “I think it’s a bad religion if your deity doesn’t believe in himself. I’d be a horrible example of divinity.”

“Well, I see your godliness, and one day you’ll see as I do. In the meantime, I hope my worship will suffice.” He finished, planting a kiss on my lips.

Every time you survive or heal from a wound you get stronger. So what doesn’t kill you literally makes you stronger. Your skin gets more resilient and your strength increases. You are someone who is practically impenetrable and can lift tanks like paper bags.

Just because you don’t follow that belief, or even any faith or belief, that doesn’t mean you cannot learn a thing or two from the teachings of said faith. Morals are something you build off of yourself and your perception of the world around you. So take a second and accept that you can always be a student, someone who learns from their experiences whether or not the fully connect with that experience.
