I’ve said this before but Leon reminds me so much of Spider-Man it’s crazy
I imagine him being between re2 and re4 Leon, in college probably, and he’s feeling the total weight and pressure of being spider-man
HEAR ME OUT IMAGINE THIS and im sorry if some of this doesn’t make sense i was in a hurry to write all of this out :(( i gotta go to work
so they meet purely by chance. the reader’s new to the city, having moved for university. they’re sitting out on their apartment rooftop
(if anybody plays the spider-man game this was inspired by it) and Leon having left a backpack somewhere in the area, he accidentally stumbles upon the reader. they have a short convo before Leon takes off, still in his suit of course
maybe a couple days later, he’s back to class when he meets the reader again — but this time he’s not in his suit. he’s just some ordinary kid trying to get by school
the reader doesn’t recognize him as spider-man, thankfully. It’s here that Leon gets to know the reader a little more, ofc he’s shocked that they go to the same uni too. What a coincidence.
A few days pass, they get closer as new friends.
NOW we have the saving aspect. Due to the reader having just moved to NYC, they don’t have a car and usually use the subway or walk themselves home as transportation. So with the common dilemma, the reader is walking home from uni when a gaggle of strangers corner them to grab some money or goods
Of course, Leon swings in, takes care of them, and seeing it’s this person who keeps showing up in his life (plus his new friend), he makes sure they get home okay.
They grow closer as reader x spider-man, and afterward at uni, Leon x reader grow closer.
THEN, WAIT JUST WAIT — THE READER SAVES HIM
something goes down. maybe some supervillain idc
but Leon gets hurt as Spider-Man and for some reason, his mind leads him to the reader’s apartment. And when you see a wounded hero needing your aid outside your window, you usher him inside and help him out.
He keeps his mask on, but the reader has him take off most of his suit to try their best to treat the wound in his side.
these events lead to a close relationship and Leon as both spider-man and a normal college kid finds himself drawn to you. he’ll stop by your place as spider-man randomly and he definitely notices how he keeps finding you on your rooftop far more often. meanwhile, Leon, who does his best to attend to each hangout, hangs by your side whenever he’s not spider-man.
Coney Island. Skyscraper observation. Museums. He shows you around the city. He knows it better than anyone.
Relationships persist. Eventually, you both have enough of a moment that he allows you to lift his mask just slightly. Enough to give Spider-Man a kiss without completely revealing his identity.
BUT, this has the reader thinking hard. After going on a first date with Leon (maybe he gathers the courage to call it and treat it like one), they confront Spider-Man and tell him as much of an amazing person he is, they like Leon uni kid a lot more because they know him better.
I imagine it’d go like this,
Spider-Man and the reader are sitting on their usual spot on the rooftop.
“So… I wanted to talk about the kiss.” the reader would bring up. Leon, under the mask, tenses, heartbeat quickening in a way he found unusual.
“You’re… You’ve saved me. You’re an amazing person… but there’s someone else.”
Of course he’s a little scared to hear more, but then the reader describes Leon. Unbeknownst to you, the same person is smiling under his mask. Spider-Man’s understanding blah blah blah
A couple weeks later — full of dates by now and a growing relationship that neither of you want to get rid of — you’re somewhere with Leon.
Idk where exactly. Maybe a trip abroad? Idk.
but anyways, I kind of envisioned Spider-Man would have a nickname for the reader. ONLY Spider-Man. Like when he first met them, he saw their shirt and it had their favorite artist on it or something like that.
Say they had a Beatles shirt, Spider-man would call them Beetle.
So, how the reader finally finds out they’re dating spider-man?
During this event, Leon goes to the bathroom and leaves his phone unattended. You texted him while he’s gone and realize he left his phone there. So, you naturally pick it up only to see your contact name is the nickname Spider-Man calls you by.
DO WE KNOW WHERE IM GOING WITH THIS?
ugh I’d write it myself but I get major writer’s block
IN SHORT I LOVE SPIDER-MAN LEON
