How are you?’’ It had been several years, to be honest, in which he had suspected that they had passed or at least been taken prisoner, since they heard nothing. Matt had spend a while looking for them, but it wasn’t long until he was needed elsewhere. War was harsh and it didn’t always give one time to be selfish and look for the people you love. He had been unable to grieve, however, since he hadn’t known exactly what had happened, so he kept thinking of them and where they could be, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t been forced to keep going.

So really, it was great to see them again. All of them. Including the princess.

“Matthew,” she greeted, moving towards him and taking his hands into her own, lips pulled into a smile as she looked up at him. How long had it been since she’d lain eyes on Pidge’s elder brother, a warrior in his own right and verified genius to the rest of the galaxy. It warmed her to know that he seemed to be as grateful to see her as she was to see him. Her hands gripped his, “I am well, given all that has happened. I am sorry that I was unable to keep you apprised of our situation but.. well, such things happen. How are you, in return?” she asked.
