Chuckling, Combeferre averted his eyes from Courf, not quite trusting himself to keep his gaze on the other man for much longer. âIâd like to think itâs more so of them being interested in the subject over anything.. But thank you, Iâm glad you think so highly of my teaching methods,â He huffed out a quiet laugh turning his attention back to Courfeyrac. âMaybe sometime, youâll have to come on a field trip with us as a chaperone if youâre ever free..â He smiled. Combeferre could imagine how thrilled his students would be to have someone with Courfeyracâs contagious attitude, not to mention.. Ferre would be overly delighted himself if Courf ever did decide to come along. Not that heâd risk voicing such excitement. âNo, I would think itâs too soon to be proclaiming trust just yet. But I do believe his mind has always been in a decent place aligned to his morals, heâs a loyal man to his job and sense of duty.â Grinning a little, Combeferre stifled a laugh. âIâm not so certain weâd get so far as to their âinner workings,â but I do think thereâs a significant amount of support he can provide. Regardless, itâd be nice to have things play out that way..â Combeferre hummed in agreement to Courfâs words.
Keeping his smile in place, Ferre listened on as Courfeyrac spoke about his and Grantaireâs relationship. Maybe his expression didnât reflect in his eyes, but not once did the gentle upturn of his lips falter. He cared for their happiness, and if they were happy then he should be too. âYeah? Well Iâm glad to hear that then, that itâs all working out of course too.â Though his knowledge on polyamory was limited to what he knew from other sources rather than experience of his own, he did believe in Courfeyracâs and Grantaireâs ability to make things work. When he thought about it, the two together made an admirable pair, he did not doubt in their ability to communicate well. It was fortunate on his behalf that he had never acted on his own feelings, their friendship may have been more at risk than ever. âNot taking risks are often times enough our biggest regrets, in yours and Grantaireâs case, itâs a good thing you two thought to confess then. Else who knows how prolonged the results may have been..â They were words against his own actions, and in that moment the impact of what Courfeyrac said prior seemed to finally settle in. âPoly.. so then, are you and Grantaire also seeing others currently?â His brows furrowed in confusion, having thought that if either one of them, or even just one were in a relationship beforehand that he would have caught onto this. Maybe heâd been a bit too busy to catch on to some things though...

One word; traffic.
We shouldnât teach great books; we should teach a love of reading. Knowing the contents of a few works of literature is a trivial achievement. Being inclined to go on reading is a great achievement.

I hate Fridayâs classes. I have to contain myself to not yell through it.
@les-amemes-combeferre Are you feeling like having take out food tonight?
Fortunately, those are only a day out of the week.
Maybe we should dedicate every Friday to having take out since we do so frequently. Are you thinking Chinese again or something else?
Youâre right, otherwise I would be expelled already.
Thatâs actually a great idea, consider Friday takeout Friday from now on. Chinese. Can you call at the restaurant to make the order? Iâll pick it up on my way home. The number is, as always, on the refrigerator.
I wonder if thatâs all that would be done though. Regardless, I admire your self-restraint in this situation. Youâre handling it well, Iâm certain of it.
Takeout Friday.. I like that. Sure, Iâll call now. Be careful on your way home, thereâs been quite a few sirens today.
So far. Weâre one month away from the end of the semester so Iâm aiming to make it without incidents. However, thank you Ferre. Iâm sorry to keep ranting about Fridayâs awful lectures. Hopefully your Friday was rather more pleasant?
I will avoid dark corners, expect to be home with the food in forty five minutes.
One month then, I believe in your ability to get through it, mind still in tact. Regardless, you know I never mind listening if you ever need to talk, Iâm always here to lend an ear and offer advice where I can. I do hope they start becoming even slightly more tolerable for you. My own Friday has been.. Rowdy, but not unpleasant.
Should I be looking for a movie or do we intend to work on things tonight?

Courfeyrac couldnât help but grin as he listened intently. He loved hearing Ferre talk about the things he was passionate about. It was one of the things that made him so beautiful. âThatâs amazing! Alex reminds me of you sometimes, the way you describe him. And itâs awesome that you enjoy this class. Youâre an awesome teacher and I know those kids appreciate it as much as I did when I needed tutoring.â He shivered slightly at the thought. âI still have nightmares about Chemistry, Combeferre. They haunt me to this day.â his tone dead serious but his eyes still twinkling and revealing his joking manner. This was nice. It was all so nice and good and wonderful being around Combeferre again and laughing with him instead of just passing him by with a simple âHey! How ya doinâ?â. He froze a bit when he asked him what was new but he recovered almost immediately. âOh! Well, nothing much besides the whole prison protest with Mont and the whole gang finally getting on Tumblr.â Those other words were almost stuck in his throat. He wanted to say them but the anxiety gave him pause. What if it all went horribly wrong? He would hurt Grantaire if he didnât tell Ferre but he would hurt Ferre even more if he found out about him dating R if he- He paused. He couldnât hurt Ferre like that because Ferre didnât care about him in a romantic sense, he reminded himself. He took a deep breath and just forced the words out of his throat. âI'malsodatingGrantairewhichisawesomeandcoolandanewdevelopment.â the words tumbled out of his mouth and he exhaled deeply, almost in relief, after saying them. âYeah.â
Smiling, Combeferre nodded along as Courfeyrac spoke, and while he was never one to flush easily he couldâve very well have been on the verge of doing so at Courfâs praise of his teaching. âIâm just content with the opportunity to be getting them excited over what theyâre learning. Of course, theyâre significantly younger than the grades I intend to teach, but itâs pleasant nonetheless.â He did, dearly, want to do good by those children. His smile eased a little, though there remained a hint of amusement in his eyes. âNo, chemistry is far from easy, I understand that. But we did have some interesting sessions there, didnât we?â He grinned, remembering the accidental fire that occurred during one. At the time, he was really supposed to be helping Courfeyrac but his curiosity had gotten the better of him and.. Well, that day had been a mess. Tutoring with Courfeyrac had been a highlight of his time and  he did miss those moments theyâd spent together. Hearing what was going on in the others life, Combeferre listened intently wanting eagerly to catch up with what heâd missed since their lack of communication. âIâve heard a good deal about the protest from Enjolras, not to mention that our good Inspector intends to stand along with it. Itâs nice, how well this Tumblr thing is working out for us to communicate and share some things..â Combeferre could tell that there was something else that Courfeyrac was wanting to say, but seemed hesitant to do so. It wouldnât be right to push him on the matter and so he intended to let it go, until it had all left Courfâs mouth in a flurry of rushed words. Undoubtedly, from the few words he could catch he was able to uncertainly piece together a sentence. âYou and Grantaire are.. Dating?â He asked to be certain of what heâd heard. âCongratulations, thatâs great for the both of you,â He smiled at Courfeyrac, suppressing the wave of emotion he could feel building up. Of course, what heâd felt wasnât reciprocated, heâd known that for a while now. Really, though, he could only be happy for his friends at least. âThen.., this happened pretty recently? Does Enjolras know?â
What is your MBTI type?
From the several quizzes Iâve taken, my most common result has been INTP.
An old urban legend says that if I go and speak the name Mothman three times in front of a mirror in a dark room that the rumored Combeferre shall appear. Confirmed?

@les-amemes-combeferre II CLOSED
Courfeyrac was going to jump out of his skin from nerves. How in the hell was he even supposed to do this? He regretted having promised Enjolras that he would do this. His heart pounded horribly in his chest; he could feel it beating even in his throat. He wasnât ready. He wasnât prepared. His leg began to bounce underneath the small cafe table and he glanced around the cafe once more to check that Combeferre wasnât there yet. âOh God, oh GodâŠâ he murmured again, pulling out his phone and scrolling through Tumblr in a feeble attempt to calm himself. When it showed that nothing was going to calm him, he placed his phone on the table face down before taking another nervous sip of water. It was going to go well and everything would work out. He was trying to convince himself of this statement when he heard the bell on the door ring as someone walked in.
In truth, Combeferre had no idea what to expect, suddenly being texted by Courfeyrac to meet up. In the past, this hadnât been an unusual occurrence but with how things were between them now? He was a bit concerned something actually was wrong or that something had happened. Either way, he didnât want to assume that this was over anything bad, but perhaps a step up from whatever had been going on between the two. With that thought in mind, he picked up the pace to the cafe, stepping in through the door. Automatically, he looked around searching for Courfeyrac before his gaze met with the others. Smiling, Combeferre made his way over sliding into the empty seat across from Courfeyrac. âSorry, hopefully you werenât waiting here too long. There were some kids that had questions after class and I just..â his words trailed as he waved a hand around a little leaving that up in the air. He didnât think Courfeyrac would want to hear those details. âAnyways, how have you been?â It was a bit sad to have to ask that when theyâd been a lot closer than this. Had known how each others days have been. But to sit down and talk like this, well, it was progress at least.
He watched as Combeferre walked in and began searching for him. He almost wanted to melt into his seat instead of having Combeferre look at him. But then their eyes met and Ferre was smiling and somehow, Courf found himself smiling and waving at the man. His nervous leg stopped bouncing and a strange calmness fell on him. Why in the world was he freaking out? It was Combeferre, the man who always seemed to know him best despite being his opposite. He shook his head and did his best not to fidget in his seat before saying, âNah, youâre good. Itâs no biggie. Howâs Alex doing? Is he still enamored with every word that comes out of your mouth?â Before they had⊠halted communicating with one another, Ferre had told him a good bit about his classroom and his students. It was one of the things that Courf felt like Ferre liked to talk and therefore would be great for breaking whatever awkwardness had come between them.
At the mention of Alex, Combeferre beamed, shifting a little in his seat. Alex was one of his more quiet students, taking in every minute of the lesson like his life depended on it. After class, heâd often hit Combeferre with really thought-provoking questions based off of their lesson. âLately heâs been participating during class discussions a lot more, and Iâm really proud of him for that. He has a lot of great questions that gets most of the class to join in with their own ideas, youâd think it was a small room of scientists,â he chuckled, always ecstatic about his class and their enthusiasm to learn. âTheyâre all great students, Iâm glad to be teaching that class, even if itâs only for a semester. But what about you?â Combeferre shifted his glasses back up the bridge of his nose, directing the topic to Courf. It had been a while since theyâd last spoken like this, aside from the usual greeting but never anything more than just that. âAnything new going on?â Part of him wanted to ask the question thatâs been on his mind for a while now, but perhaps it was too soon to delve into that..
