I hate the word "queer" Im a lesbian
it's literally disgusting how people will leave lesbians out of lgbt art / discussions n it's even more disgusting how those same people will include all those stupid ass mogai identities and then turn around and be like "Uhm lesbians were mean to me once at 3.45pm on june 4th, 2011 so they don't deserve to get included :/" get a fucking life
if you arenât a lesbian you donât get to tell us to share a flag with gay men even though our experiences are wildly different ESPECIALLY if you have 400 other flags because demiheteroplatonic quasiromantic rights or something or if you think lesbians hold privilege over those people
Being a lesbian feels so claustrophobic. Â When youâre a lesbian there is nothing you can have for your own. Â
You canât define yourself with words because they will be appropriated. Â "Gay" is an umbrella term. Â Youâre gatekeeping if you ask bi/pan women note to call themselves âlesbians.â Â "Femme" is just a synonym for âfeminine.â Â
Your sexuality is commodified and sold to men as a grotesque distortion of your experiences. Â Lesbian love gets repackaged as a sexy little fetish designed for palatability to the men we will never want. Â Every inch of your body is public property and must be up for discussion. Â Same with your sex life. Â They will ask if you scissor, if you use strap ons, what sex with dildos is like. Â Once someone came up to a girlfriend and I in pubic and asked her what my genitals tasted like. Â If you try to find other women to date you quickly encounter the het couples and het-partnered women who want you to be their exciting sex toy for the night. Â
You are scrutinized at all times. Â When you walk in public with your girlfriend they scream at you that youâre lesbians, that youâre dykes, because they want you to know that you are always being watched and you are unsafe.Â
You join LGBTQ+ communities only to find that people become angry if you talk about lesbians instead of âqueer women.â They tell you that being a lesbian is a privilege, that your sexuality ought to be fluid, that your experiences donât matter. Â You are invalidated at every turn. Â In death they might snatch away the final dignity of letting you die as a lesbian â look at what has happened to Sally Ride.
You canât have your body. Â You canât have your sexuality. Â You canât have your privacy. Â You canât even name your experiences. Â There is no space, no language, no tiny scrap of anything that will ever be yours. Â
Uh oh, David Fullarton
i rly dont like the mindset that all lgbt people want is to be âacceptedâ and that all out community is about it âinclusionâ. no. we want access to trans health care. we want anti discrimination laws for housing and employment. we want marriage equality. we want to stop trans kids from being forced to go by their dead name at school. we want to abolish the gay/trans panic defense. we want to stop corrective rape. we want black trans women to stop being murdered. being âacceptedâ by cishets isnt the goal, and neither is being an all-inclusive club. i want to be able to live my life freely as an lgbt person. our community was created out of the need to survive. that has nothing to do with being âvalidâ.Â

the idea that anyone who approaches sex in an unconventional way (asexuals, kinky people) is LGBT is a direct product of the perception of gay sex as deviant and strange
