how do i say this without sounding like i'm hating. because i'm not. because it's also a component of my own fave ship. well i think that sexual assault has been a part of buffy's relationship with her vampire guy that isn't angel since his debut episode. from his own very phallic name, to the names he gives her ("here, kitty, kitty"), to even buffy's own words ("it's gonna hurt a lot"). which personally i think is a very interesting part of vampiric romance: if fucking and killing are synonymous to him, then he's always wanted to kill her, and he's always wanted to fuck her, and he's always wanted to kill her. and then, fucking him means giving into the comfort of death. which i think are all very fascinating things, and i'm glad that there's people who are into this pairing (and character) more than me and don't shy away from it. i know just how awfully passive aggressive that sounds but i'm trying to be honest
