i've always thought that pre show joyce would get (13-14 yro) buffy to sit down and look at like. artistic photography or stuff like that and buffy wouldn't get it because she didn't know what to see. idk if this makes sense but i've thought of it

hey you guys do you know that just because a character doesn't say "you are a [something] to me" or, inversely, they do say "i am not your [something]" (more often than not followed by a "but"), that doesn't mean they don't have that specific kind of relationship right? right?

furthermore: do you know that sometimes a third character, often an episodic/sporadic one, will say a truth about two people's relationship that they don't want to admit? and just because they "don't know [person 1 and person 2]'s relationship enough" that doesn't make it any less true? that you should question why they're saying it, not what? insane work, i know.
