I just think it's not outside the realm of possibility that since Spike and Giles were clearly both punk or punk-adjacent counterculture in the 70s/80s they may have crossed paths and hooked up. I think Giles would remember this, with horror, regularly, and live in constant fear that maybe one day Spike would also remember and then tell people, and have to comfort himself with the fact that no one would ever believe him.

Bumblebee: I joined because I’m lonely i guess, it’s not hard to admit that when everyone feels that way. Bumblebee: and i’m not out irl. So it’s nice to ‘be around’ other women like me. And being able to actually make a friend while i’m at it is a total bonus. Hope: oh i feel that. Only a few people know i’m a huge lesbian.
