Thank you all so much for participating in the first go of a massive multiplayer RP! This project is over but the mods plan to do another one of these, with a completely different AU and altered rules, after a break.Â
Thank you to all the participants and to all that read along!
The bunker exploded. The ground hitched upwards, throwing dirt and leaves and trees from the earth, then buckled down, creating a scar on the forest floor. There was no ear-splitting noise, just a deep boom that shook the bones of the dead ⊠and the living.
Cosette breathed. In her hand was a small vile of great importance. It held the cure, the cure that would end the apocalypse and save the world. She shivered without Bahorelâs coat, but not because of the cold. She had just altered history, she had just changed everything, she had just helped beat the king. The lark had outdone the lion.
Prouvaire breathed. He watched the dust from the explosion settle, his heart and mind still dark and fuzzy from all of the lives he had taken. But the loud noises, the bright lights, the deep aching in his soul ⊠they were all beginning to clear. The Infection was disappearing. He was becoming human again.
Feuilly breathed. He was done killing, he was done traveling, he was done watching his friends die. He felt the loss of those in the bunker, he knew the people standing around him were his family now, and he never wanted to leave their sides. It was all over. It was all done. A radio near him buzzed with nothing but static.
Courfeyrac breathed. No, he gasped. He was awakened by an explosion and a prick in his arm. The cure flowed through him and something aching inside his being finally went away. Â He looked around and saw no ghosts, no hallucinations, and for a moment, Courfeyrac felt relieved. The dead were dead, the alive lived.
The Italian guards stood in a protective circle around the four Chosen Ones. They watched the scar in the earth widen and collapse into itself as the bunker fully crumbled. Â Italy would help France rebuild, the cure would be administered to its citizens and the four in the woods would rest.
The ghosts of Eponine, Musichetta, Combeferre, and Marius led some Infected, both intelligent and regular, towards a bunker. It distracted at least some of them from their friends, and they managed to stay strong enough and not fade away, and have the others finish their task in the meantime. Grantaire and Enjolras went into the base in search of the king, disguising themselves as doctors to do so. R assured Enjolras that he'd follow him regardless of what happened to him because of it. They then agreed, even though he didn't deserve it, the king would get a fair trial. When they found the king they were forced to endure a monologue, in which the king blamed Enjolras for the outbreak. During the confrontation Grantaire was shot, leaving Enjolras to hand him the detonator before he himself was executed. As his last act, Grantaire blew up the bunker, killing everyone inside.
Courfeyrac was trapped outside of the bunker, and all his friends were inside. With no other options, Courfeyrac decided to go to the wall. Along the way he was joined by Gavroche's ghost, and they briefly debated whether or not it was a good idea to turn the fence off. Both of them decided it was worth it, and began to run towards the fence. At one point Courfeyrac remembered that he hadn't sent the picture of Eponine's tattoo to Combeferre, so he sent it to Joly, and then continued running. When they reached the fence, they debated the best way to go about taking it down, before finding a control panel. Courfeyrac ripped out almost all of the wires before he found the right one, and the fence shut off. An army began to come through, and when one of the officers discovered that Courfeyrac was Infected, Courfeyrac was tranquilized for everyoneâs safety. As Courfeyrac fell unconscious the officer reassured Courfeyrac that they would do their best to save Courfeyrac's friends, and France.Â
Jehan and Feuilly were given the horrible task of gathering the fresh human organs required for the cure - 10 bodies worth. After a firm debate, Feuilly convinced Jehan to let him commit the murders in a bid to protect the last of his friend's sanity. The first death was the worst with the victim having time to beg for her life. After apologising repeatedly, Feuilly harvested the organs and put them in the bag Jehan carried, repeating this with the next 8 victims. When it came to the final body, Feuilly found himself unable to kill, the toll of murdering non-Infected becoming too much for him. Jehan convinced him to hand over the axe, and Jehan killed the final person. Together they collected the organs, and hurried to return to Joly and Cosette. After giving the ingredients and finding a syringe, both Jehan and Feuilly curled up in the corner of the room, trying to keep themselves together and stop themselves from falling apart. When Cosette motioned to them, they left with her and Joly, Jehan barely able to string words together and Feuilly barely able to focus. The group made their way out of the bunker, just in time to avoid being trapped inside with the explosion. The cure was swiftly administered to those Infected as they met up with Courfeyrac. It was for them, finally over.
Cosette and Joly were tasked with creating the cure itself. They made it to the correct room, but Joly felt weak, and ended up not being able to help very much. Cosette was the one to add things into the mixture as Joly read them off. Eventually, they were only in need of organs and newly infected blood. The organs, Feuilly and Prouvaire were collecting, but the blood, they had to get on their own. Luckily, or unluckily, for them, Cosette was already Infected, but Joly was not. Feuilly and Prouvaire came back with the horrible ingredient they were still lacking, which Cosette took and reluctantly added to the mix. In order to get the blood, Joly mentioned that she would have to infect him, as the blood had to be newly Infected. She didn't want to, but she did as he said and infected him with a scratch. Cosette gave him a syringe to take his own blood, which he did after a few minutes, and she added it to the cure. It was done, but they had to get out. After gathering what they could, they began to make their way out of the bunker, but Joly found himself unable to go any further, telling Cosette to go on without him. The lark hugged him tightly and gave him Bahorel's jacket before hesitantly leaving the bunker. Joly died in the explosion.Â
Les Amis reconvened in the forest near their exploded barricade. There, they decided there was nowhere to move but forward--they traveled back to the bunker entrance that Feuilly and Cosette found. The moment they hit a button on the keypad, a small screen slid out from the wall and played a video, a video showing two familiar IT people. When the video ended, Les Amis finished plugging in the code from Cosetteâs fatherâs journal. A door opened, allowing entrance to the bunker--but at the same time, a blaring alarm sounded, attracting the attention of Infected people who approached from the forest.
Combeferre & Marius
Once the code to the bunker was punched in, the door opened ⊠which seemed great until the system recognized that the code you were using was an old one and set off an alarm that rang throughout the forest. Now not only are intelligent Infected swarming the bunker but so are normal Infected citizens. Eponine has discovered that ghosts can shift the object they are attached to--now you know that, at the expense of a great amount of energy, you can reattach to a new object, which will enable you to pick it up. Get your hands on a weapon, use it to defend the bunker and keep your friends safe for as long as you can. Another thing you have realized--with all this effort youâve been exerting, it suddenly feels so tempting to justâŠ.let go. You could fade from this world with no more than a thought, and finally be at peace. Your friends need a chance but you deserve peace ⊠do all you can.
Enjolras & Grantaire
Once you get inside the bunker and locate the King you have two options in your limited time frame. In three hours you must decide if the King deserves to live, or if he deserves to die. Blowing up the bunker would be easy, with your code you could access the weapons containment unit and acquire explosives. Set the charges, grab the detonator and BOOM-- all of the people who destroyed France are gone, all of the vials of the Medicine are gone, all the bodies of the experimented-on citizens are gone--itâs the first start of a clean slate. However, itâs a big decision to just end the lives of so many people, regardless of how guilty they are. You could lock the King in his sector and once youâve freed France, give him and his men a trial. Itâs the more democratic way to go and possibly the more civilized. Though this isnât a civilized world anymore ⊠the King made sure of that when he made the Medicine.      Â
Courfeyrac & Gavroche
Now that your friends are trapped in the bunker by a sea of Infected that youâve managed to escape, you have been sent to the giant electric, razor-wire fence that has been set up along the border of France and all its neighboring countries. Gavroche is with you and will do all he can to protect you. The fence is supposed to keep Infected from leaving France; but it has also stopped help from coming into France. So now you both have to make a choice. You need the help of your neighboring countrymen to help your friends out of the bunker to distribute the cure, BUT if the cure isnât made in time, then breaking through the fence will allow Infected through with nothing to stop them, dooming more than just France. Foreign governments can help you distribute the cure to your citizens and start rebuilding--so itâs probably a good idea to try to get through the fence. You need all the help you can get, but is it worth putting other countries at risk? Â
Prouvaire & Feuilly
You all now know that the ingredients for the cure include human body parts. Itâs horrid and macabre, but itâs the only way to create an end to all the suffering in France. Is it worth it? If you believe that it is, find the human organs that you need and deliver them to Sector 18, where Cosette and Joly are using the machine to start to assemble a cure. Quickly--there isnât a second to lose.
Cosette & Joly
Make the cure. Youâve got the key to the special machine that will allow you to mix the cure properly so itâs effective and now all you need is blood of a newly Infected person, human organs which Prouvaire and Feuilly are out getting, and the other chemicals listed on Combeferreâs flash drive. This is what you came all this way to do, this is the defining moment of your story, this is where you either succeed or you donât ⊠there is no in-between. Â
Eponine & Musichetta
A swarm of Infected, both intelligent and regular, followed your group into the bunker as you all rushed in. Combeferre and Marius managed to use their whistle to stem the flow of Infected at the entrance and are now fending off more from coming in, but a large amount of them got into the bunker and followed Joly and Cosette to the hallways outside of Room 32 in Sector 18, where the cure can be made. Eponine discovered that ghosts can shift the object they are attached to--now you know that, at the expense of a great amount of energy, you can reattach to a new object, which will enable you to pick it up. Perhaps you could finally get your hands back on a weapon. That, combined with the effect of your whistle on the intelligent Infected, may be enough for you to keep them out of that very important room. Another thing you have realized--with all this effort youâve been exerting, it suddenly feels so tempting to justâŠ.let go. You could fade from this world with no more than a thought, and finally be at peace. Itâs seeming very tempting as you struggle against these Infected, but it would mean leaving your friends behind...
Eaton - Damn, thatâs one hell of a wake up call--
Michelson - Holy shit. They just typed in the code. Eaton they just gained access to the bunker! Theyâre in!
Eaton - Theyâre in! We should ⊠we should shut it off right? Letâs shut it off ...
Michelson - Yeah maybe...yeah we should do that. Alarms are bad.
*typing noises*
Eaton - Do it, do it, do it.
*alarm shuts off*
Eaton - EEEEY!
Michelson - EEEEY!
*silence*
Eaton - Oh my god, theyâre here. The Chosen Ones made it.
Michelson - Chosen Ones, you have exactly three hours from when you punched in the code to do everything you need to do and leave. I managed to postpone the alarm until then, but I donât have any more control from here. In exactly 3 hours, the alarm will go off and every door will lock down, shutting you inside. Youâll be at the mercy of the king and the doctors.
Eaton - If you donât make it out in time you will be trapped in here and so will any hope of bringing the cure to the outside world. France is counting on you, the people of France are counting on you ⊠we are counting on you.
Michelson - There are guards all over this bunker. Move quietly and be prepared to disarm them if they find you. The last thing you need is for everyone to know youâre here.
Eaton - You can do it gang. You are so close. Oh and hey, if you happen to find your way down to Sector 3, I know two IT people that would be just ⊠so so happy to see you.
Michelson - Stay safe.
Eaton - Just âŠâŠâŠ
Eaton and Michelson - âŠâŠâŠâŠ..âŠ.. stay alive.
After Gavroche left the group to go find more supplies, he found himself trapped in the basement of a building, Infected pounding at the door, Combeferre at his side. They tried to find a way for him to escape, but the vents were a dead end. Combeferre offered to go and get help, but Gavroche refused, he did not want to stray the group away from their goal. They finally came up with the plan to open the doors, let Gavroche take out as many Infected as possible, and then Combeferre would come in and drain his energy once he had run out of bullets. After a quite a bit of reflection and coaxing, Gavroche finally opened the door. He shot as many Infected as he could, and once he could do nothing more Combeferre enveloped him in a hug, draining his energy, and ending his life.Â
Cosette and Feuilly were trusted to figure out where the bunker was and try to get in. They decided to move through the city, since it would be fastest. As they moved, they were attacked by Infected, and Feuilly got a graze to his calf. The two arrived in a building and got down, Cosette worrying about Feuilly's injury. He handed her the gun and she began to look around. Feuilly was the first to spot the odd arrangement of rocks. Cosette moved to them and saw the keypad. She didn't know the code. She began to cry and punch the rocks because they were so close. But also so far. Feuilly came over and also grew angry, punching the rocks as well. After a few minutes of being upset, the pair decided to get back to the barricade to inform the others of the location.Â
Prouvaire and Ăponine found a working computer to get all of the information off of Combeferre's thumb drive. As Jehan began to write out the information into a notebook there was a banging on the door. Ăponine left to distract the Infected, which turned out to be her father and his gang. While she distracted them, Jehan finished copying the information just in time, as Ăponine's father shot at her and once discovering she was a ghost began to break into the door. Jehan escapes through a window, managing to close it as they burst through the door. The information and thumb drive were safe in his pocket. After Ăponine found him they headed back to the barricade, hopeful for the chance that they had.
Musichetta appeared to Courfeyrac as a ghost while he was fighting the Infected who were trying to make their way past the barricade. At first he wasn't sure that she was really there, but he talked to her all the same. They talked about Bossuet not blaming Courf for his death, and how much he missed them all. Musichetta told Courf that Combeferre really was dead, but he wasn't sure he could believe that. They also talked about how she was connected to Joly, and that he couldn't die or she would disappear. They had a plan to blow up the barricade with the gasoline from a car. Courfeyrac said his goodbyes to Musichetta and in that accepted Combeferre's death before blowing up the barricade and running off to join his friends.
Joly was tasked with defending the barricade, which he did without conviction or much usefulness. Marius hovered near him, sorry he was unable to help, but Joly didn't speak much in his apathetic space. Finally, the Infected began to overrun his section of the barricade and he had to call Enjolras over to help, making him less able to speak to Marius.
Joly and Enjolras battled off the Infected on the barricade until they were out of ammo. Joly got shot in the leg and lost all feeling in his legs. Enjolras pulled Joly off of the barricade and onto the ground. Joly informed Enjolras that the blood of a recently Infected person had to be used for the cure but that that specific batch of the cure would not work on the donor.
The group finally made it to Savoie....only to find it overrun with intelligent Infected. You hurriedly made a barricade from whatever you could find on the outskirts of the city, but warding off the Infected is not enough. Some members need to guard your fragile base while some sneak into the city. And some are off in search of your final destination....Â
Courfeyrac & Musichetta
If the barricade is breached you will all die and the others wonât have a base to come back to. Also, keeping these intelligent Infected people occupied while your friends are sneaking into the city is of vital importance. If any of you die, information on how to save France will be lost.
Prouvaire & Eponine
Itâs risky to sneak into the city with so many intelligent Infected on the prowl, but you need to find a functioning computer. Use Combeferreâs flash drive to retrieve all of the information the group has collected about the cure and to decode any encrypted ingredients. Eponine, do everything in your power to protect Prouvaire and the flash drive from the intelligent Infected.
Feuilly & Cosette
Youâre close to the location where you can make the cure--and you have a strong suspicion itâs located in a hidden bunker. The group has entrusted the two of you to find the bunker and figure out how to get inside. Hurry--time is of the essence.
Joly & Marius
If the barricade is breached you will all die and the others wonât have a base to come back to. Also, keeping these intelligent Infected people occupied while your friends are sneaking into the city is of vital importance. If any of you die, information on how to save France will be lost.
Combeferre & GavrocheÂ
Gavroche was sneaking through the city in search of food and other supplies for the group, doing his best to avoid the Infected with the help of Combeferreâs ghost. He came across a likely-looking building, but when he went inside a group of intelligent Infected followed behind him, ready to attack. Now both he and Combeferre are down in the basement of the building, trapped with a horde of Infected pounding against the locked door.
Enjolras & Marius
If the barricade is breached you will all die and the others wonât have a base to come back to. Also, keeping these intelligent Infected people occupied while your friends are sneaking into the city is of vital importance. If any of you die, information on how to save France will be lost.
Michelson: *warped* Testing...testingâŠ.testingâŠ.*clearer* Testing. Finally. Okay. Fixed two things in one day. Iâm on a rollâŠ.
Chosen Ones. Hi. I think you can hear me. Guess what? We fixed it. We fixed the airâŠ.itâs not gonna hold though. Itâs like, the shoddiest job ever.
Eaton is...Eaton is resting. Theyâre going to beâŠ.just fine. Weâre fine. Weâre good here. But what about you? You allâŠ.youâre getting pretty close. You want to know the odds ofâŠ.of if you got really close to saving France but still failed? Theyâre really high. Like, so high up there...
âŠâŠ..
No...noâŠ.no, okay, listen. Listen. You are so close. And I know Musichetta died this week. She fought so hard...in spite of her illness. She made France proud. And now youâre allâŠ.almost there. Iâm seeing lots of not good on my readings here, lots of those intelligent Infected just likeâŠ.all around. But good call making a barricade. That was smart. Now you know what you have to do. We believe in you. Right Eaton? Right?
As Musichetta and Joly were running from the Infected, Musichetta started to find it hard to breathe and felt pain in her chest. Joly could tell that something was wrong, but kept his panicking quiet until he decided to pull her off of the road with him, and into a bush. He told her that if they were going to die, he didn't want to be running. While failing to catch her breath, Musichetta told Joly that he couldn't die, and Joly asked her why she didn't include herself in getting to live. That was when Musichetta told Joly that she was going to die from heart failure. Joly felt like it was his fault that he couldn't do anything to save her, and asked if she could tell Bossuet he loved him if she saw him. She said she would, and that Joly needed to live to see a free France for the three of them. When she knew that Joly would live, she started to drift off with her head in his lap. She died, finally reunited with Bossuet. Joly gave her a small funeral before leaving her and escaping the Infected.
In their great escape away from the Infected, Gavroche and Enjolras found themselves running away side by side. After being shot at momentarily, they decided that running through the woods was considerably safer than staying on the open road. Once in the forest, they continued to run for their lives, Enjolras only stopping momentarily to take the steps necessary to avoid an asthma attack. This stop gave an Infected the chance to catch up to them and pin Enjolras down. He told Gavroche to keep running, but Gavroche stood his ground, used the gun he had hidden in the bottom of his bag and shot the Infected through the neck. Shaken but unscathed, they continued their route back on the main road, since they figured that they were in the clear. Enjolras gave a riveting speech about not giving up and what was to come, and they both agreed whole-heartedly that despite all the work that needed to be done, they would continue on for all those they had lost and for France.Â
Feuilly found himself separated from the others as he ran to escape the Infected. However he wasnât alone, as the ghost of Marius now accompanied him. Surprised, he didnât know what to say, until Marius offered to help him escape. Marius explained the strange noise theyâd been hearing occasionally was caused by ghosts converging together, and it only affected Infected. Feuilly agreed after being assured it wouldnât hurt Marius and the ghosts, and got Marius to give him any messages his friend wanted to be delivered to the rest of their group. After a quick goodbye, Marius left to start the convergence and distract the Infected hunting Feuilly, while Feuilly ran again, eventually managing to meet up with others of the group.
Courfeyrac and Cosette, left together to walk, began to talk. They briefly discussed recent events, but both mainly kept to their own thoughts. Cosette attempted to convince Courfeyrac to remove his bonds, but he refused. After Courfeyrac expressed concern about Combeferre's well-being, Cosette lied to him, saying that she was sure 'Ferre was alright. After a bit more discussion she admitted that Combeferre had died. Courfeyrac panicked and tried to run away in his denial, but he fainted briefly. He woke up after a moment and stormed away, telling Cosette that he didn't trust her, but not going far enough as to be out of reach if she needed help.Â
Prouvaire and Grantaire were running away together from the Infected. When they took a moment to catch their breath they notice that Grantaire had dropped the key somewhere. The key was very importantâit allowed operation of the fatal machine which created the medicine and could create the cure. Frantic, Jehan and Grantaire turn back to search for it. Aware that Infected were coming, Jehan admitted that he'd never killed an Infected. In turn, Grantaire admitted that he killed an infected teenage girl not long ago. When the Infected came they managed to fight off some before making a hasty retreat. Once deemed far enough they stopped to catch their breath and at least clean some of Grantaire's cuts that he had received from running in the forest. Upon doing so they discovered that the key had been in his pack all along. After taking a moment to bask in the frustration, they headed back to meet their friends.
Thereâs no time for formations, or plans or orders. The intelligent infected have followed you out of the city and are on your tail. You can run, but youâll also have to fight. Start however you want. You are all in this fight together. There is no order out on the wide stretch of road. Protect your partner, donât let them fall behind.
Could it be that the deep dark Dâarc forest will shelter you âŠ?
To all the ghosts out there ⊠you canât hold a weapon but you yourself might be one. There is a way you can help your friends.

Eaton: *vaguely sings âOoh Child* Oh--Michelson wake up ... thereâs beeping. Michelson? Fine. You sleep, Iâll get it. *struggling to get up* Weâre going to get the air back on, it just takes a while to fix things. Whatâs this beeping? Stop! ... oh. Thereâs a ... a bunch of infected people following you. Again. Run fast. *takes a long breath* Iâm so sorry. *another breath* Youâll make it, youâll make it. Youâll see ... youâll see. *vaguely starts singing again* Michelson ... Michelson, how does the end go? Michelson, the song. I think itâs like ... *starts singing again*
Courfeyrac and Gavroche were sent to a police station in Dijon to find the weapons they would need to defeat the king. While Gavroche searched for a key to the armory and Courfeyrac kept watch, they briefly discussed their first meeting. When Gavroche found the key, they entered the armory and Gavroche filled two backpacks with all of the guns and supplies available. Gavroche wanted to take off Courfeyrac's restraint, and Courfeyrac resisted. They finally compromised that Gavroche would take of the restraint briefly enough for Courfeyrac to put on one of the backpacks. After Gavroche replaced the restraint, they left for camp, and made it back without incident.Â
Enjolras and Feuilly rushed to find Combeferre. They held out little hope that he would be alive and found his remains scattered and in shreds; the only thing remaining was Ferre's head. Needless to say both men were in shock. Enjolras cried and Feuilly tried to comfort him. All Feuilly wanted to do was protect Enjolras, who was a little ball of pain on the ground. They then were attacked by Infected who Enjolras brutally slaughtered, which terrified Feuilly. They then reminisced over the start of Les Amis as they buried Combeferre and said their final goodbyes.
Jehan and Musichetta were left in charge of organizing and taking inventory of the backpack that Combeferre gave to Jehan shortly before his death. They both struggled with the acceptance of the death of their friend. Musichetta attempted to convince Jehan that he was not at fault for the death of Combeferre. While she struggled with the fact that she was sure to die, especially now that her chances for surviving her illness had expired along with Combeferre, Jehan also struggled with accepting that he was not at fault for Combeferreâs death. Musichetta came to accept her oncoming death this week, while Jehan accepted a different fate.
Joly was walking down the road in search of places to collect medical supplies when he encountered a ghostly Combeferre. They discussed the hospital where Joly could get what the group needed, and then realized that Combeferre's presence was exhausting Joly further. He began to leave, although Joly begged him to stay and keep him company.
Ăponine's ghost decided to hang out with Grantaire, since he was the best option to go with when you're a ghost needing to shoot a bit of dark humor. There was, notably, discussion about the importance of a beanie.
Cosette and Marius saw each other for the first time since Pontmercy had passed away. Both were very happy to see the other, and they had a heartfelt conversation. Marius brought up the fact that only one person could see him at a time, and that he was happy that this time he got to see Cosette. Soon, though, she had to get back to the group. The two said their goodbyes and parted. Both wondered if they would see each other again.
Transcription of the broadcast under the cut below.
Musichetta & Prouvaire
After the terrifying incident with the Infected, Prouvaire has been instructed to stay behind with the packs while others go out for supplies. Together, take careful stock of what you have, especially the contents of the backpack that Combeferre gave Prouvaire. The group needs to know all they can before heading to the forest.
Enjolras & Feuilly
Prouvaire came running back to the group shouting about Combeferre, about the Infected. You seize the nearest weapons and race off in the direction he indicated. You think you may get there in time to save Combeferre...but when you arrive, you see youâre too late.
Courfeyrac & Gavroche
Youâre getting dangerously close to the time when youâll need to face the king head-on. There are abandoned police stations around Dijon--finding some riot gear could prove useful.
Marius & Cosette Â
Now that she has her fatherâs journal, Cosette decided to stick close to the group. But she saw something strange around the corner, in an abandoned parking lot. Someone who looked familiar...
Joly & Combeferre
With most of the medical supplies left behind in the mad dash to escape the Infected, Joly now sets off on his own to try to find more. Theyâll probably be needed with whatâs to come. But what is that familiar figure in the distanceâŠ?
Grantaire & Eponine
Grantaire is feeling like the group is pretty unprepared to be facing the king, all things considered. Maybe there are supplies, weapons and defense gear, somewhere in this abandoned city? There are shops nearby you can check in, as long as there are no hoards of Infected hiding there.

Eaton: I think itâs fine.
Michelson: It really isnât!
Eaton: No, it is. They need time to regroup and recover and if that means staying there for an extra few days then thatâs how itâs going to be.
Michelson: France doesnât exactly have time to spare.
Eaton: No, but itâs probably not the greatest idea to go confront the bad guys while too mentally unstable.
Michelson: Well, itâs impossible to confront the bad guys when youâre dead. Which they will be, if they stay in that city too long. Itâs overrun.
Eaton: They wonât stay too long. ⊠you worry too much.
Michelson: âŠ.excuse me?
Eaton: I said you worry too much! Theyâll be okay.
Michelson: Are you fucking kidding me? Youâre the one who worries all the fucking time. What we need to be concerned about is them getting where they need to go before everything falls entirely to shit. Not about how âmentally stableâ they are when they get there.
Eaton: Okay, well, I just wanted to give them time to calm down. But fine ⊠I see your point.
Michelson: âŠ.I see yours too. They just have to keep in mind there isnât much time to be resting anymore.
Eaton: Chosen Ones, it seems like you now have everything you need to finish this but ⊠Iâm not exactly sure how all of your clues piece together. Hopefully youâll have luck with that. We definitely believe you will.
Michelson: Huh...this is weird.
Eaton: Oh god ⊠donât say that âŠ
Michelson: And not a good weird. Itâs Combeferreâs life signalâŠ
Eaton: Where is it?
Michelson: Thatâs the thing. I canât find it. It was right here a second ago, he looked healthy, pulse maybe a little high...
Cosette and Musichetta were trying to find the journal that Jean Valjean had left for the lark. The two found a willow tree surprisingly easily, quickly getting to work. They had nothing to dig with aside from sticks and their own bare hands. Eventually, Cosette was able to dig up the book and flip through the pages. Sure enough, she saw the code. Musichetta hugged Cosette and told her how smart she was, which caused Cosette to feel guilty. In the midst of her guilt, she told Musichetta about how she had gotten Bossuet infected. Chetta was angry, but tried to calm herself down. The two made their way back to the group, and Chetta was determined to talk to Joly.Â
Courfeyrac and Grantaire dug a grave for Eponine. After lowering her body Courfeyrac offered to pray, and even though Grantaire said prayer 'wasn't his thing' he threw in a bible verse he remembered from catholic school, 'an eye for an eye' and told Courf that the cure required human organs and where they intended to get those from. This triggered Courf to go berserk, attacking R. After the struggle left them both bloody, Courf came to, apologized and demanded he be restrained in case he lost it again.
Ăponine lingered near her friends. She didn't have much of a choice, but even if she did, she wouldn't have left. She needed to know if they would succeed. People she cared for were still alive, and she wanted to know, at least, if they would make it. She spoke briefly with Marius, two ghosts connecting in this strange afterlife.Â
Combeferre and Jehan were surrounded by Infected. The only way for them to escape was for Jehan to fight alongside the doctor to make a run for it. The poet could not bring himself to kill what he will soon become, so Ferre gave him a backpack with important ingredients and information for the cure inside of it. As Jehan ran, Ferre made a final stand against the Infected, but was not a match for the swarm alone.
Joly attempted to clean Enjolras' arm with their limited supplies. Enjolras insisted he was fine and kept reminding himself of everyone else's pain, causing Joly to snap at him. Abruptly, a group of the intelligent Infected came up on them and forced them to cross the river, Enjolras carrying Joly. They tried to run once across, but Enjolras had to kill one of the Infected to keep her from Joly, who was still in much pain. They stayed hidden for a while, allowing them to rest before finding their way to camp. Enjolras' stitches had pulled out and Joly had left all of the supplies he had behind.
Gavroche and Feuilly had been tasked with setting up camp. After a brief discussion they agreed to make camp in a grove of trees that would give them cover and keep them hidden from dangerous prying eyes. As they walked, Feuilly told Gav about the secret Eponine had been carrying, and noted how similar the siblings were, something Gav felt upset about though he didn't tell Feuilly. Gav told Feuilly not to apologise anymore after the other attempted to, and both agreed to no more secrets. Once they'd reached the camp, they set about trying to figure out an action plan - while Feuilly preferred a stealth attempt Gav argued that the had to be ready for a full frontal attack if they had no other choice, to which Feuilly reluctantly agreed. Finally they agreed to try and find a police station while they were still at Dijon to better arm the group. From there they decided it would be best to walk straight to the forest, and try to get some practice with the new weapons on their way. Feuilly suggested to protect the group, to surround non-Infected with those in the group who had already been Infected, in the hopes that it would ward off other Infected. They proceeded to wait for the return of the others, hoping no more nasty surprises would come with them.

Enjolras & Joly
Enjolras has just been stabbed. Joly, use the dwindling medical supplies to take care of him. Â
Combeferre & Prouvaire
While on a mission to gather supplies in the abandoned city of Dijon, you ran into a small group of Infected who were definitely stronger, faster and smarter than normal infected people ⊠very much like Prouvaire. Now youâre surrounded, and they are closing in fast.
Courfeyrac & Grantaire
It didnât seem right to bury Eponine in the frigid mountains. Give her a proper funeral here in Dijon.
Cosette & Musichetta
Youâve finally made it to Dijon, Cosette, near where your father said he hid his journal. Musichetta has offered to accompany you to find the willow tree under which it is apparently buried. Be careful as you journey away from the group.
Marius & Eponine
Marius, you have almost gotten used to being the ghosts following along with the group...but suddenly Eponine has appeared beside you. Welcome Eponine into the world of the dead.
Gavroche & Feuilly
Set up a camp near the river where Cosette is looking for her fatherâs journal. Your next big move is going to be to the south east, to DâArc forest where the King might be. Itâs going to take some serious planning to get there.
Eaton - *deep breath* Eponine is gone.
Michaelson - Yeah. There was no way for them to treat that gunshot wound.
Eaton - Iâm sick of this.
Michaelson - Okay, letâs just quit now then.
Eaton - Thatâs about to be our only option anyway. The foodâs gone, the meds are gone, the oxygenâs about to be--
Michaelson - --the Chosen ones keep dying, their supplies are dwindling, the Kingâs Infected are closing in--
Eaton - The King is winning.
Michaelson - The King is--yeah. Yeah, it looks like he is.
Eaton - Why did we think that two IT people and a bunch of rebel students could save an entire country?
Michaelson - We let our ideals blind us to reality.
Eaton - Michaelson?
Michaelson - What?
Eaton - This story ends with the country being free.
Michaelson - âŠ.youâre right. Weâre going to do this. They are going to do this. Thereâs no other option.
Eaton - Eponineâs death will be our rallying cause. The people that killed her are going to pay big time.
Michaelson - Youâre right. So Chosen Ones, we should let you know what weâre seeing on our scanners. Itâs something weâve seen before. When Eponine was shot back in Orleans, we saw this type of reading. And it showed up again right before she was shot just recently. This reading is similar to that of Infected individuals, but slightly different...and itâs identical to the readings we get on Prouvaire. So it appears that Prouvaire is not an isolated case of an Infected person who kept their mind. There is a whole group of this type of Infected, and it looks like they have been targeting you guys.
Eaton - It appears that the target on Eponine was not random, but pre-planned. I had hoped that our only encounter with this type of Infected would just be with Prouvaire but it seems that this group of Infected have been trained to work for the King. That being said,  we can see youâve arrived at your next destination and like Michaelson said ⊠we are getting that same reading of Intelligent Infected that weâve gotten before. Theyâre lurking all around the city, probably hunting for you.
Michaelson - This is crunch time, guys. We know that thereâs something one of you needs to collect here--we think it should help you towards your goal.
Eaton - Please look after each other.
Michaelson - Weâll be here for you as long as we can.
Grantaire and Combeferre led the group down the mountain. After Grantaire assured the other man he was a good listener, Combeferre revealed that in order to make the cure they would need human organs. Not only that, but Eponine and Feuilly both have the information needed to make the cure. They both then agreed that their friends were not allowed to sacrifice themselves in order to make the cure.
Courfeyrac and Eponine were making their way down the mountain, discussing the group's situation, when Eponine was shot. Courfeyrac tried to do something to help her but the wound was too much for her. He comforted her as she died, bringing up old memories and assuring her that she was not useless. Eponine told him that she had a tattoo on her back and made him promise to take a picture of it to give to Combeferre. After Eponine died, Courfeyrac carried her down the mountain and found a spot out of the wind where he made camp. He built a fire and took the photo of Eponine's tattoo, then waited for the others to join him so he could tell them the terrible news.
Enjolras and Cosette traveled down the mountain straight to Dijon. Both were lost in thought. Enjolras informed Cosette of the bunkers Marius had told him about and she eagerly jumped on the idea of having a base to use. Cosette then told Enjolras her secret about how she had been responsible for Bossuet getting infected. Enjolras had a bad reaction and immediately became defensive and threatening. Cosette begged Enjolras to back down, and her Infected instincts kicked in and she stabbed Enjolras in the bicep. Enjolras was in shock and didn't remove the weapon, hoping that Combeferre would be able to help him later on. Cosette and Enjolras then finished their trip down the mountain and made it to camp. Enjolras was not able to sleep or rest.Â
Musichetta was put in charge of making sure that Feuilly didn't tumble down the mountain, as he was still getting over the flu. After some light conversation, Musichetta asked Feuilly if he was seeing their dead friends, especially Bossuet. He told her that she didn't want to be able to see them, because that would mean that she was Infected or as unwell as Enjolras. Feuilly told Musichetta that he could try to see Bossuet, and after hesitation she agreed, thinking that it would give her closure. Musichetta wanted him to tell Bossuet that she and Joly missed and loved him, and began to cry while doing so. Bossuet didn't speak to Feuilly but nodded when Feuilly said he loved them back. Musichetta realized that she didn't want to let go. Musichetta said she'd be with him soon, making Feuilly worry, and making her have to explain her condition. She said she was too scared to tell Joly, but said she would try to do so soon. They started walking again until Musichetta passed out, leaving Feuilly to drag her to the stopping spot.
Gavroche and Joly were tasked with watching one of the group's flanks as they made their way down the mountain. They talked a little until Joly started to have a hard time walking, at which point Gavroche helped him walk by letting Joly lean on him for support. Joly offered Gavroche Bossuet's car for when the whole apocalypse thing ended, but Gavroche politely declined. The rest of the walk managed to go down with minimal self-deprecating comments, and only a little bit more crying. That being said, it could've been a lot worse.Â
Marius appeared next to Jehan as he was walking, and came across Jehan muttering something to himself. He questioned whether or not Jehan was okay, and the two got into a discussion about Jehan having this voice in his head that told him to attack their friends. Marius attempted to encourage Jehan to tell the others about that voice, and offered to leave the group with Jehan if Jehan were forced out by them.

Enjolras & CosetteÂ
Cosette was recently attacked by a bear and it goes without saying that she needs a break from attacks of any kind right now. Both of you keep careful watch of the left side of the group. If another bear comes, make yourself look big, yell loudly and throw pine cones ⊠or is that for a coyote?
Joly & GavrocheÂ
You finally have a real lead on where your journey might come to an end. Gavroche and Musichetta cracked the strange radio message code and the Kingâs location has been revealed. Being able to create a cure has never been closer. Keep careful watch of the left side of the group, now is not the time to get killed.
Courfeyrac & Eponine
Eponine is still sick but insisted that the group continue to move so they could make it to Dijon. Courfeyrac, keep an eye on her, Eponine is strong but you are still walking through snow and wind and sometimes freezing rain, be sure she makes it to Dijon alive.
Marius & Prouvaire
Prouvaire is keeping at the back of the group, thinking maybe he can get some time to himself and recover from being strangely possessed by the high pitched noise he heard earlier and being stuck in a blizzard. He definitely isnât expecting someone he assumes to be dead to show up next to him.
Musichetta & Feuilly
Feuilly is just getting over a case of the flu so going down a snowy mountain and walking for miles to get to a town probably isnât the best thing for him. Musichetta, itâs your responsibility to make sure Feuilly doesnât keel over from exhaustion and start rolling down the mountain.
Combeferre & Grantaire
You are leading the group towards Dijon, hoping there will be something there that aids your efforts to save France. It is absolutely imperative that you DO NOT get lost and DO NOT let the group to attacked by anything. Why is snow so hard to see through

âOh shit. Are you okay?â
âStop lying.â
âThe world was ours, you know?â
âIf I want a lot of medical jargon, Iâll talk to a doctor.â
âWe donât talk about that.â
âThis is all your fault, you know.â
âJust hug me.â
âThere are no rules here.â
âHeâs dangerous.â
âI feel terrible, like thereâs a weight on my chest.â
âIâll listen to you.â
âYouâll be miserable.â
âYou canât save everyone.â
âOoo, child, things are gonna get easier â do not âbooâ my singing!â
Michelson - Thatâs what I said, a bear. A huge, giant bear.
Eaton - I donât believe you. You are making this up to punish me for sleeping all day.
Michelson - No, Iâm not! If you had been awake, you might have seen the âgiant furry mammalâ reading on the scanners.
Eaton - Pics or it didnât happen.
Michelson - Lucky for you, I decided to take a picture of the scanner just for this purpose. Incredible your snores didnât distract me...but here, look.
Eaton - ⊠WHAT THE *LONG BLEEP*
Michelson - âŠ..HAH. Did you hear that? I installed a sensor button. Now the Chosen Ones donât have to listen to your sailorâs mouth every time we check in with an update.
Eaton - *Bleep* you. Um, I didnât even say *bleep*! I said *bleep*!
Michelson - What was that?
Eaton - *Bleep*
Michelson - Illuminating.
Eaton - ANYWAY. Not much to report on this week gang besides Gavroche and Musichettaâs stellar work at code cracking. Who would have thought thatâs what the 19 was all about?
Michelson - Yes, excellent. And Iâm sure youâre all glad to be leaving the mountains. Soon youâll be in...well, I canât say, but you know where youâre headed.
Eaton - We think someone in your group has something to find at your next location, something very important.
Michelson - Be careful on your way, and especially once you arrive. It seems like thereâs a dense population of Infected there.
Eaton - Our scanners are picking up random isolated life blips that bear a remarkable resemblance to Prouvaireâs life blip. We arenât exactly sure what to make of that but weâre working on finding out whatâs up.
Michelson - Thatâs right. Okay... I think Iâm gonnaâŠ.take a long nap.
Eaton - Me too, that sounds nice. Later *bleep*. UM okay first of all how dare you. Second of all *bleep*
