THE FIRST BEAMS of sunlight have slowly began to infiltrate the previously darkened quiet sanctuary of the bedroom - rays from the window casting the two slumbering boys in warm early morning light - shadows punctuated with soft golden hues. eyelids fluttering in protest against the intrusion - a soft groan falls from greyson’s lips as he squints - quickly raising a hand to block out most of the harsh light. for a moment he’s disorientated - the curtains aren’t his - this room isn’t familiar. one, two seconds and it’s all coming back to him. last night at the club. having way too many drinks - running into ludde. giving into temptation and boldly making his presence known, dragging the other onto the dance floor before he could so much as protest. he remembers dancing so close but never close enough. carefully - grey turns onto his side, dark blue fabric of his shirt crinkling against the sheets. he appears to still be sleeping and the breath catches in his throat - unable to tear wide azure orbs away from the beauty before him. softly - so gentle the touch is barely there - his hand settles on the slumbering boy’s cheek, thumb ghosting softly along his skin. dropping his head back to the pillow - continuing to watch on with adoration painted onto delicate features.
ludvig can feel the sun hitting his face, claiming him awake. but he does everything in his power to keep his eyes shut, to try to will his mind and body to fall back into slumber. he’s scared that once he is awake, sober and no longer protected by the dim lights of the club, reality will come back crashing down on him. he’s sure now. he knows grey is his soulmate. he doesn’t need to see the mark to confirm, he feels it in his chest and all throughout his body. but he’s not ready to watch him walk away from him. not again. suddenly, he feels soft fingers against his cheek and he almost sighs in relief, a small smile adorning his features. “hey,” he barely whispers, eyes now struggling to open. ludde feels a surge of confidence take over him and he reaches out for grey, wrapping his arm around his waist and pulling him closer to him. he’s very slowly opening his eyes now and when he finds deep blue eyes staring back at him, his hearts swells in adoration for the sleepy boy laying beside him. ludde wants nothing more than to lean down and kiss him. but he’s still not sure if he’s allowed to do that. so he talks in an attempt to delay the heartbreak. “did you sleep well?” he whispers.
