Lester Turnquest, of Nassau, Bahamas, serves as the managing director of the Green Bay Group. Where he coordinates the operational aspects of the financial services firm. A longtime resident of Nassau, Lester Turnquest supports a variety of charitable organizations in the Bahamas, including Youth Against Violence. Former gang leader Carlos Reid launched Youth Against Violence in an effort to help kids who were on a path that leads to a lifetime of delinquent or criminal behavior. The organization works diligently to provide a positive environment for at-risk youth to promote and empower the next generation to live productive and healthy lives as law abiding citizens. To that end, Youth Against Violence has several programs in place that provide alternatives for the city’s youth: -Operation Redemption is designed to help at-risk youth learn a new trade while earning money. The program is open to both men and women and provides vocational skills that will help them find long term employment. Fields of study include auto repair and mechanics, home repair, computer skills, graphic design, and video production. -Diamonds is a program specifically geared toward young women. Training in character, etiquette, dressing, and grooming are anchored in Bible studies that help participants develop a passion for greater purpose in their lives. -Platinum Souljahs caters to young men. Under mature male leadership, participants focus on the basics of becoming a man of purpose. Key topics of the group include conflict and anger management techniques. Youth Against Violence directs its programming toward youth between the ages of 10 and 25. Currently, approximately 200 youth participate in Youth Against Violence activities weekly.
