Year in Review!
Hi y'all, a year has passed since I first started running bts ship stats and it's been a super great experience. I've always been curious about ship popularity in fandom, and bts is one of the most versatile fandoms out there, making it great for this kind of project. I've seen huge changes in this fandom since I joined in 2017, and getting to document some of them in this past year has been so much fun. Seeing that a few others have taken interest in this has also been great.
Unfortunately, this is going to be my last post for stats. I held out for the year mark but life does have a way of getting a bit too busy. Thank you to everyone who supported this little project of mine, your enthusiasm was greatly appreciated.
Now, without further ado, here is the year in review! I calculate ship popularity based on growth - that is, the percentage that the ship grew since last time. This isolates the ship so that it is competing against its own number, not against the other ships. It means that smaller ships get a fighting chance against the juggernaut ones - and we definitely see this reflected this year.
Under the cut is the full list ranking all of the ships, as well as a couple of graphs! (kldsgjf I went all out for this one).
Happy reading!
