When I was like 12, my friend was staying at my house. it was that weird time of night where nothing actually seems real but you can still think, and so we were going over this crap devotional I had from when I was six and laughing over it, and there was this one phrase about friends and how God gave them to you. And she just looked at the ceiling and said "God? Can I return this defective piece of trash?" and I replied with "can i return THIS piece of trash" and we both just laughed.
thank you! I will tag the posts with #trashfriend :)
(c) The following day, I woke up on the floor and saw her siting on a branch, a cigarette in her hand. I swear I didn’t feel the heat at first. It is only after I joined her that I noticed the walls were on fire. Before she left, she said to me: ‘I’m afraid of heights’. How do I tame the fire ? How do I forgive myself for not wanting to tame the fire ? How do I look into her eyes and not see the flames ?
Thank you :) I'll tag the posts with #treehouse
I was the more loving one. I didn’t mind, I just rolled up my sleeves and went to work. I started building a tree house in my garden, nothing much you know, just a little hut with a floor she could walk on without stumbling and a roof for raining nights. I sanded the walls, built a ladder and hanged a bird table near the window. I didn’t know much about woodwork but I sure knew about devotion. When I finally brought her here, she looked around attentively but said nothing. (c)
I fell for a girl with honey-coloured skin and a personality just as sweet, so now when I see bees I smile and think of her.

The first time I kissed another girl was on a cold September night in a dark parking lot. I remember every second of it. She had long dark hair and was wearing a black dress and I was so in love with her. The kiss was brief and subtle, almost like we were doing a drug deal. Her lips were so soft. She smelled like fabric softener. As I drove away, I kept watching her in the rearview, knowing that I would never be the same. We dated for years.
Wonderful, thank you! I will tag the posts with #parkinglotloveaffair
One of our friends lives in a village, and her house comes with an acre or so in land, so a few summers ago we had this little camp fire with amazing food. There were about 8 of us, and we all crammed into this tiny wooden summer house in the middle of the field, all snuggled up together in duvets and blankets. The sky was clear and there were thousands of stars. It was my first summer with my partner, and everything in that moment felt perfect.

I sat on the back stoop watching the fireflies and trying to decide if I loved him or not.

Last night I witnessed my best friend start to fall for an amazing guy. She's tall and nerdy. He's also tall but taller than her. He has facial hair and is nerdy. They were in here kitchen sharing a bottle of wine and at some point I looked over and they were looking at each other and talking about guitars. You could see the sparkle and depth in their eyes that you read about in books when someone realizes they're falling in love.
Lovely, thank you. I will tag the posts with #booklove :)
I was about 10 at the time, and me, my younger brother and my cousin decided that whilst the adults where being boring and sitting and chatting we would build a straw that would go from the top of the stairs to the bottom so we could drink our water. Obviously this just resulted in us getting water everywhere instead. Once the parents had helped untidy up we were told to go play up stairs, so we thought we would continue playing with water. Using cups, straws and a washing basket, we flooded three beds, ruining the mattresses and began filling up a wardrobe with water too. The parents only stopped us cos water started to leak through the ceiling into the living room. Got a truly brutal telling off. Was a lot of fun tho...
When I was 16 I met my first love. We dated for three years and broke up a few months ago. One of my favorite memories is from New Years that first year we were dating. We kissed in some parking lot at midnight while fire works lit the sky and then we slept in a freezing car together while big fluffy snow flakes covered everything. He gave me his sweater because I was cold and I still have it. I've never been colder in my life, but it didn't seem to matter much to me then.
