It was with great pride that he watched his queen cradle the child, wiping his cheek quickly. Eyes must’ve caught him do so, but he deny anything.
Allowing Sif to have her moments first, Thor took a deep breath when she offered the small Asgardian to him. Taking both head and body in his hands, she was so l i g h t . A bit surreal, with all his mighty strength.
“I wish to name her…” Of all the names he had planned, they were all for males, and yet he didn’t put heavy thought onto any name… …Save for one.
“–Thrud. Daughter of thunder.”
To think that such a single word could be like a breath of life, that such a small child would one day grow and g r o w . . . But she is content with what is.
Her child is born and beautiful, and as a slender hand reaches out to take a smaller one in her own, a smile spreads across Sif’s face. It is as if the pain from moments ago has passed.
All that matters is the precious result. Hazel orbs gaze from her daughter to her husband. Thrud truly is a daughter of thunder... Thunder and...
❝ And of war. Thrud... P r i n c e s s of Asgardia. ❞

In the coming moments, Thor remained at Sif’s side, calmly encouraging her strength to deliver the child. Even he began to sweat merely watching her. Though, with all the strength and might of Asgard, it’s women still felt the pains of labor.
Then, in her final pushes, the sweet sound of the newborns cries filled the thunderer’s ear. Thor looks to Sif, seeming both happy and exhausted, he leaned to press his lips to her temple.
“A daughter–” He pauses, then looks to Sif again. He tears up, but for all good reason. It took him every bit of effort to not fly out of the room and yell it from the top of his lungs. “–we have daughter!”
A tiny form wrapped in silks and clothes is placed into her arms, plump and blue-eyed, rosy cheeks and beautiful. A few strands of blonde hair gently curl on the top of her brow as the child’s cries turn to s o f t whimpers, and finally to pleasant gurgles.
Tears roll down the raven-haired goddess’s visage as she cradles their daughter as if she was more prized than any treasure known to man and god. Smiling at her husband, she offers the babe to him.
❝ Aye, we do, ❞ Sif breathes with so much warmth. She can hardly believe it herself. Nothing could have prepared her for this meeting or how perfect their child was, born from an eternal, passionate love. ❝ —And what shall we n a m e our daughter, my king? ❞
( ✖. THORTHESONOFODIN. )
As all that deemed themselves apart of this process, it seemed awfully crowded. Yet, of course there needed to be witnesses– The All-Mothers included. Something about them being there had the thunderer’s nerves u n e a s y.
Still, he tried to think less of them and more of Sif– And the child. He said nothing to the others, keeping his watch on his wife alone. There was hardly anything he could do or say… Just merely wait.
“Your strength is prevailing, love–” It would all be worth the anxious excitement in due time, and soon enough.
Sif did not remember how much pain she endured or how much time had passed, but enchantments of the healers and murmurs of god and goddess alike drowned into silence, all at once, at the sound of a wailing c r y of an infant babe.
No words could describe the overwhelming relief and happiness that washes over her, as if it was the most loveliest thing that the the warrior-forged had heard in all Nine Realms... in all her l i f e . . .
Presenting the child to them, Eir bowed her head and smiled warmly. ❝ My king, my queen, the Fates have blessed you with a daughter— ❞

It happened all so quickly, the midwives taking Sif and ushering her quickly to where she was to deliver. Eyes watching them a moment, he wasn’t quite sure of his place–
–Not until his queen spoke directly to him, chest tightening a bit. “I am at your side, my love.” Though it all, by her request, he would remain.
Relieved that he was welcomed by her word to follow, despite the crowd of women tending to her, Thor took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. He couldn’t help but be excited. For the both of them– They just needed to get through this first.
Before she can so much as relax her brow or collect her thoughts, she was surrounded by all women she respected above all: Eir and her healers, the All-Mother trinity—
As magic was cast and medicine was administered, her vision blurred as the pain increased. It would not be tomorrow or even the next h o u r .
This child was coming, as stubborn and fool-hearty and brave as the god and goddess who claimed her. Sweat beaded against her brow as her free hand dug into folds of silk and blankets. The lady and lord had waited for their child long enough.
( ✖. THORTHESONOFODIN. )
It hadn’t clicked completely in the thunderer’s mind what she had said. There was a long pause until Thor’s eyes widened as big as they could go. Was it time? It was TIME!
“With hast, my queen!” Before scooping her into his arms, he could barely hold back the wide smile and slight jump in this shoulders when the pieces all fell back together.
And just as he said, with lady in arms, he flew them bot to their midwife with incredible flying speed.
She loathed the helplessness of her predicament, every searing sensation of unbridled pain, but she calmed herself as best she could. This was about her child’s life—
No matter what, this new son or daughter of Asgardia would be safely delivered, by a n y means necessary. Eir and her healers are upon them at once, ushering her to lie down.
Sif knew she was in the most capable hands, but one mattered to her more than the rest. ❝ Thor, stay with me... ❞

It was amazing how quickly time moved upon the golden realm. With his wife– Queen, Thor walked alongside her in the winding pathways of Asgardia, leading which ever way to all the different halls of the floating realm.
Quickly did they stop, Thor looking over with an arched bow, confused at why they had. It wasn’t as though they moved all that quickly in their strides.
“Are you alright, my lady?”
It should have occurred to shieldmaiden-turned-queen that the fated day they had yearned for had finally arrived, but months of preparation and council—and one attempt at a Midgardian birthing class—could prepare her for t h i s .
A single, faltering step followed a spasm of pain in her belly, different from any injury from battle and a flooding sensation that meant only one thing.
❝ M-My lord, take me to Eir at once... The child, o u r child— ❞
