so I haven’t posted in forever! I thought I’d share what I’m currently working on...

an aquarium! I started cycling this 5 gallon tank a few days ago and decided to add some live plants. I’ve tried live plants in an aquarium before and failed. I’ve done a little more research this time so maybe I’ll have better luck. hopefully in a few weeks it’ll be fully cycled and I can get a fish friend!

Today I made a diy leaf shine with water and lemon juice and cleaned the leaves of my monstera. Its leaves were pretty dusty. It looks so much better now!

I did some rearranging today. I moved my big monstera into the sunroom. She’s grown so much! She has a bunch of new leaves and I’m excited to see how much she’ll grow with more sunlight.

My dad is letting me borrow some shelves he has. We set them up yesterday and moved them into the sunroom

I moved a few of my plants out there. I have some tomato and eggplant seedlings under growlights out there as well.

Propagation

I’ve decided to try out propagating some of my plants. 

Here are some african violet cuttings I am trying out. I have tried propagating violets before with no luck. They just get moldy and die. This time around I’m using rooting hormone so hopefully that’ll help.

I cut back my pothos so I figured I’d try rooting the cuttings. Some of them have started growing roots! I have my pothos hanging in my window and I’d love to have another one up there.

Hi there! Welcome to my plant blog. I have to be home for awhile so I’ve decided that I need something to do with all this time I have now. So here it is!

A little bit about me - I’m 19 years old, and I am currently in college and majoring in Veterinary Nursing. I work at a vet clinic as a kennel technician. My hobbies include drawing, painting, dog training, and of course growing plants! 

My plant obsession started about a year ago and I went a little overboard with buying plants. I lost a bunch of plants that I didn’t know how to properly take care of. I have since then buying as many, and I try to research specific plants before adding them to my collection. I have about 20 different species right now. My favorites are my orchid, africian violets, and monstera deliciosa.
