Funny how you were “dead to them” until they needed someone to pick up prescriptions, get their groceries, drive them to appointments, or become their unpaid caregiver.

Funny how “never speak to me again” turned into “how could you be so cruel and heartless” the second their health declined and they realized you weren’t coming back.

They didn’t miss you.

They missed what you did for them.

And now they’re 😱 shocked 🫢 shocked 😮 shocked 😳 that the child they screamed at, disowned, and told to drop dead isn’t lining up to wipe their ass and manage their medications in their old age.

Enablers of narcissistic abuse say it’s “mean” to call a narcissist a narcissist.

They say it’s name-calling.

They say it’s “not nice.”

They say we should “use kinder words.”

Meanwhile, here are some of the names my late narcissistic mother called me:

- Cluster of cells she should’ve aborted

- Ugly inside and out just like my father

- The reason for her misery

- Crazy, out of my mind, insane

- Too sensitive, ungrateful, spoiled brat

And here are some of the names my narcissistic ex bf’s called me…

- Stupid, dumbass, idiot, r word

- Crazy, psycho, clingy

- Too skinny, anorexic, skeleton

- Crackhead, drug addict, alcoholic

And here are some of the names the narcissists my coaching clients are healing from have been called…

- An embarrassment to the culture

- Ungrateful, too sensitive, emotional, worthless, stupid, dumbass

- Possessed by a demon

- Crazy, bitch, slut, whore, cunt

- Insane, bipolar, psychotic

- Abusive, worst parent ever

If you’re worried that protecting your peace from a narcissistic parent might “cost you your family,” take a step back. For something to cost you, it has to hold value. Enablers? Flying monkeys? People who watched the abuse and said nothing? Be honest: what are they truly worth?
