ONE OTHER THING i thought of is that lkj and fred both are leaders that have horrible things happen and they lose everything. except with little king john he grows and changes and becomes better, more caring, a genuine hero and leader.

but with fred he becomes this hating, petty version of himself. the version he hides away from his coworkers and friends. the spiteful, conniving man that is far away from any sort of brave, charming superhero front he puts up. the one that so easily oozes out from the hate he's felt from losing everything, the alien that wants to blame someone, anyone, and then try to boast he has a very good reason to.

i think most of the fred hate comes from the fact that most people don't know that the happyan opera is an adaption based on real events in-universe and not the exact things that happened. it's possible that fred laughing at them alost dying in episode 6 was added as a comedic thing and not to show how evil and cruel he is [which i mean yeah he does a lot of bad things but that's because he's not perfect and a whole other can of worms i don't want to open right now.]

ignoring the feeling that i've accidentally ripped off smeone else's character and posting him now because i like him a lot and you guys deserve to see him.

the second drawing is a few days older. anyway, this is headphone friend. he first appears as an incidental in ratboy's kingdom then appears again in some future installment in his canon that i haven't got to writing yet where he works as an ice cream truck driver for the galactic friends and delivers stuff to other planets. he drives this really cool ice-cream-truck/spaceship/rv hybrid.

in ratboy's kingdom, however, he's a dj for parties and stuff. music and sounds play a big role in his life. since he's faceblind (which means he doesn't recognize others by their faces), he relies on the sound of their voices and mannerisms to recognize people he knows. he's good friends with basically everyone, both the people he knows from his job and his friends in the kingdom.

he likes helping people but he sometimes makes mistakes although he means well. he's a very outgoing type of person who likes being the center of attention, but he has a small ego. he's also a little clumsy and ditsy but always owes up to his mistakes. his family has a bit of hoohoo genetics hence the green eyes.

i also have a little story planned with him where the galactic superheroes help him after he crashes his ship and they all eat ice cream together or something idk
