Immediate petition for 13 to meet River Song
*Collective fandom sigh of relief that it isn't Kris Marshall*
Jodie Whittaker. Well we know she works well with Chibnall so that's a good start
And where was Bill’s title? The girl who waited, the impossible girl etc. Doesn’t Bill deserve one? Or is she just “the girl who was hella gay”?
I'm annoyed that 12 never got a catchphrase. Where was his Allons-y, his Geronimo, his fantastic?
Calm yourselves people! The reveal of the 13th doctor will not take away from what 12 gave us, or Capaldi, just like 12 didn't take away from the others. Each doctor holds a place in history and our hearts. And give the actor a chance to become the doctor and show us who 13 is before judging the poor sod
I am so relieved to know that you don't particularly like Clara either! I'm not a huge fan of her myself but I feel like so many people are. I wasn't sure why I didn't like her until you said that she was too full of herself, and that's exactly it!!
Yeah I know it does feel like that. She is too full of herself. Idk like I see how her story is good and I appreciate the points they try to convey through her, but most of the time I was like meh. Couldn’t fully care for her.
I ended up watching it and be slightly irritated on the side everytime. s9 opener was good times for me. She’s sort of like a teacher I don’t like, yet I still somewhat value the info they’re giving me, and don’t get to fussed about whether they show up or not. Occasionally I laugh at her jokes, but humour is humour. She got some good clothes though, I’ll give her that.
She reminds me of nursing students fresh out of University. My father deals with them a lot. He’s been a paramedic for over twenty years and has to put up with these kids who think they know everything just because they’re fresh out of school. Clara thinks she knows more than the Doctor on occasions even though he has hundreds of years of experience. And I would have thought that years with the Doctor would have humbled her, but it didn’t. That’s what really irritated me. There was no development in that aspect of her character.
yeah pretty much. I totally agree on the lack of development there. Sometimes I’d just be like “Clara sit the fuck down.” It was all old news.
The one thing I don’t like about Missy: her choosing Clara for the Doctor and saying that they were perfect for each other. Maybe with Eleven, but with Twelve I felt like there was a disconnect.
I always laugh at how despite choosing her, in the end Missy was like “eh fuck it” and stuck her in a Dalek. Maybe Missy started to see it wasn’t matching so well when Twelve came around and thought “guess it’s time I pop down and ruin her life.” Honestly though, she said Clara was perfect cause she bossed him around. Only The Master would have that opinion. It’s sort of sweet she tried to get him a good companion, despite the terrible miscalculation there.
I saw it more as Missy playing the doctor. Practically forcing a companion on him that wouldn't listen, would boss him about, take charge, manipulate him and basically cause him hell. Missy saying Clara was perfect for him is her version of perfect which for the doctor is just a massive headache. But because he is the doctor and he has a fondness for humans he cared for her (platonically) which wasn't Missy's plan but it also became perfect because then it would cause more pain when Missy killed her (or made the doctor kill her while in the Dalek)
I’ve got this little headcanon, in which Missy wakes up, in Simm!Masters clothes, not remembering what had happened, how she died, where she is. But a little voice deep within her mind, shouting at her, drumming in her subconscious. Pictures of her future self, dropping to the ground, dead. And she feels like her time is running out, constantly threatened by a concept she grew up to rule, feels it slipping through her fingers. And all she can think about is, when she’s really in her last life, really dying, she wasted her whole life denying something she wanted for years. So she went & found Clara, brought her together with The Doctor and she went to make him an army, to his birthday, to show him: “Hey, we’re not so different, can we be friends again?” and she saw him standing there & couldn’t help but shag him, because for a second she was safe and time stood still and she wasn’t dying anymore, but home. Maybe that’s how a cold, careless Simm!Master became Missy. Maybe he created her himself. Maybe he made his worst fear come true himself, being his own worst enemy once again.
(And this is why you should never break a writer’s keyboard. Anyone can tell I miss writing? Hell.)
…that’s exactly the same headcanon i have about her, like… wow
I like this but I also got lost in the idea of Missy in the master's clothes and really want to see it
I am staying in denial. Doctor Who will be on this week and Bill and Heather will invite the doctor, missy, nardole and his new lady to dinner and they will be happy and all laugh about how everyone thought the others were dead and absolutely no one regenerates
I am desperately in need of a purpose to life
I wish we had gotten to see more Evil Missy. She was so deliciously mad. We missed out on a lot of fun.
How is it possible to be so in love with someone's hair? I would touch Michelle Gomez's squirrel anyday
Bill said she didn't want to live if she wasn't going to be herself. The master lived up to this. He saw Missy was going to change, that this future version of him was going to stand with the doctor, he was going to regenerate thanks to Missy and he refused to let that be his future - he would rather die than not be himself. The sad part is that Missy actually tried to be good, she let the doctor lock her up, she submitted to the memories of the people she killed, she let herself go through the pain of her past and in the end it was for nothing. Being good is what killed her.
Trying to convince myself Missy is okay
I think we can all agree that Missy and the Master together was the best fucking thing ever
