Here’s the very first part of the Hogwarts au. Sorry it’s been so long since you asked me to write this, but I hope you’ll still love it! It’s a tiny little introduction to the story, but it sets a few of the characters and their relationships. Hope you have fun reading~
Jungkook had asked the way a ton of times, been directed in the wrong way on several instances, but now he knew he had to be on the right path. Right? This couldn’t be it. The pub he entered was definitely the right one and the woman that took him to the back alley seemed to know exactly where he needed to go. And yet, here Jungkook was, standing in front of a brick wall, with no other way to go. He reluctantly considered facing the shame of going back in and couldn’t decide. Just then, two others strode into the small alley, both laughing until they noticed the lost boy in front of them.
“Oh, hi there, are you looking for something?” the smaller of the two inquired. Jungkook decided to take his chances with these two. “Yeah, do you happen to know where Diagon Alley is?” The one who had asked the question just smiled, but the taller one seemed to erupt in excitement. “We’re on our way there as well! He knows the way,” he pointed at his friend, who ordered: “Step back, I’ve seen my dad do this plenty of times” he ordered. The boy touched the wall in front of them with a stick, which Jungkook would soon find out was a magic wand. Then suddenly the bricks started to move and rotate, and slowly the entire wall parted. Jungkook glanced to the side to check if the others were seeing it too, only to find the taller boy with his mouth hanging open.
What was behind the wall was unpredictable. It seemed like a rather narrow street, and yet it was packed with little picturesque shops, flashy images, people talking to each other, people laughing, children running around, children with their nose squished again windowglass. There was really so much to see, the contrast with the dull looking wall from before was what made it all more astonishing.
With confidence, the boy that made this happen stepped through the hole, into the busy street, quickly followed by his taller friend. He looked around at the still gaping Jungkook. “Come on, hurry up.” That was enough to lift Jungkook out of his trance and he stepped through as well.
“You’ve never seen this place before have you? You must be a Hogwarts firstyears!” the short boy deduced. Jungkook could only nod and smile shyly. “Awesome! We are new to Hogwarts too! You’re here to pick up your stuff, right?”
“They send me a list of things but I don’t know what half of them mean.”
“Don’t worry, just stay with me and I’ll talk you through it. I’m Jimin, by the way” the short boy offered, sticking out his hand for a handshake. Jungkook didn’t hesitate to take the offer. “Woah thanks! I’m Jungkook.” He smiled.
“And I’m Taehyung! But you can call me V. You know? For Victory” the tall boy winked at Jungkook while shaking his hand too. Jimin laughed at his friend “He’s big on the nickname thing,” he told Jungkook as if letting him in on a secret. Taehyung immediately defended “Don’t you think friends should have nicknames for each other?” Jungkook just laughed at the two interesting characters.
“Come on you two, let’s go get your books.” Jimin decided.
As he tagged along Jungkook learned more about these friends quickly. First of all, they had been friends for a decade, being neighbours in a huge street. They grew up together, only they lived very different lives. Jimin’s parents were wizards, always taking him everywhere with them. This is why Jimin already knew a lot about this world that was completely new to Jungkook, and already had gotten all his school essentials with his father. But it was new to Taehyung too. His parents happened to be muggles, that’s the term to use for people that are not wizards or witches, so Jungkook learned. Luckily for him, when he got the letter, he had his best friend to rely on. And so it happened that the two went shopping for Taehyung. Jungkook praised himself very lucky with Jimin, who knew exactly what not to get when buying certain books, where to look for certain things and who to ask for the stuff that wasn’t found so easily. Lastly, they went to Olivander’s. Not very practical, but Jimin insisted, saying it was the best part of the whole shopping-experience. Partially because of Taehyungs constant fire of questions, Jimin told them about how the wand chooses the owner and how he himself has a wand of red oak, with a dragon core. He thought it necessary to assure the others two that whatever they may read anywhere, it did not - absolutely not - mean that he was a short-tempered guy. This statement made Taehyung laugh so much that he cries.
The three went into Olivander’s shop, still laughing.
So that was the snippet of the beginning of the story, I hope this made you excited for the rest! Next: wand choosing time! Remember, you can always send me ideas and tips, even completely unrelated requests~
