Song Of The Day 01/05/16

Fall Out Boy released yet another music video for their single “Irresistible.” This time, the band parodies N’Sync‘s “It’s Gonna Be Me” music video from 2000. Sixteen years later, “Irresistible” features Fall Out Boy as bobble heads in a toy store whose workers include Demi Lovato, as well as Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick (from N’Sync). Since “Irresistible” has the same director as “It’s Gonna Be Me” did, it’s crazy how similar the two videos are, and it’s a complete throwback for any 90’s kids who were into N’Sync.

Any fans of The Big Time out there, listen up! The band has changed their name to Walkney, and already released their first single! “North” is acoustic and the band wrote on their website that they released it as their first single because it “represents sacrifice, change, and perseverance.”

“Oh, Calmity” is a track off of All Time Low’s 2013 re-release of Don’t Panic, Don’t Panic: It’s Longer Now! Hopeless Records put it up on YouTube in September, just a few days before the extended version was released. On November 23rd, Hopeless started to press Don’t Panic: It’s Longer Now! onto vinyl for the first time ever, in limited quantities. You can check out more about the vinyl version of the record here.

All Time Low just wrapped up their 2015 Back To The Future Hearts Tour’s US leg, but still have a show in Wisconsin before the year is over. At the end of January, they’ll be in Japan with ONE OK ROCK and Pvris. Then, they will wrap up the Back To The Future Hearts Tour in the UK with Good Charlotte.

Flash Back Friday 11/27/15

(So were late with the first FBF, nobody who knows us would be surprised to know this.)

On Tuesday, Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys finished in second place with partner Sharna Burgess. Their final dance was a freestyle to the 1997 BSB hit, “Larger Than Life.” Fan girls everywhere, rejoice and bask in the height of the late nineties boyband glory with this beautiful number.

Song of the Day 11/26/15

“Talk About It” is the fifth track on Paradise Fears’ upcoming studio album, Life in Real Time. The record drops Friday, December 20th, under DigSin Records.

Paradise Fears just wrapped up a west coast tour with The Rocket Summer, and are about to head out on a mini tour playing little shows in the cities that have the most pre-orders for the new record.

Song of the Day 11/25/15

“Strike me down with lightning Let me feel it in your veins I wanna let you know how much I feel your pain”

Thunder was released as the third single (the other two being Hero/Heroine and The Great Escape”) of Boys Like Girls’ debut self-titled album in 2008. There is an acoustic version and the album version of this beauty. Boys Like Girls is a pop punk band from Boston, MA (my big brother went to school in Boston and lived there for a few years after and I begged him the entire time to find their parents’ houses because I’m that kind of crazed fan).

Some songs just hit you on a deep level that no matter how long it’s been since you first heard it, it still feels like the first time (unintentional Foreigner reference). I remember exactly where and when I first heard this song. My brother and I had the radio blasting in the summer while we swam in my aunt’s pool. I heard the first line of the song and hopped out of the pool and sat right in front of the radio. It was so loud I could feel the vibrations going through me. I was 13. Thunder has been my favorite song for 7 years and counting. I consider myself very lucky to have a song that consistently gets me. No matter if I’m sad, happy, angry, having trouble sleeping, having a good day, having a bad day, or harboring murderous impulses toward my roommate, this song always fits and that feels great.

In 2010 to 2011 they “were on a break.” The band then released it’s third album, Crazy World in 2012 and hasn’t released any new music since. After the Crazy World Tour, they played shows in Boston (December 2014) and Tampa Bay (March 2015). Since they seem to come back into our lives just when we thought they were finished, I have not yet given up hope for new music from these talented boys (I know they are grown ass men, but they will always be my boys).

Song of The Day 11/24/15

“Growing Pains” is the sixth song on the UK pop punk band Neck Deep’s first studio album, Wishful Thinking which was released in 2014. The video was released on December 17, 2014 by Hopeless Records. 

Neck Deep is currently wrapping up a tour with Sleeping With Sirens, and All Time Low in the United States. After this tour the boys are heading back home to tour in the UK up until the New Year. They hit the road again in January heading to Australia, Japan, Germany, Italy and France.

New Music Monday 11/23/15

Philly pop punk band Grayscale just put out a new music video for their latest single “Palette.” The song is on their upcoming EP, What We’re Missing, which will drop on February 12th. All Time Low - 11/21/15 - Philadelphia, PA.

"Never underestimate a girls love for her favorite band. Never think even for a minute that she wont defend them to her death. Because it's not just the music that makes the band her favorite; it's the guys, the gals, the fans, the people of whom which she has interacted with thanks to the band. That band might have saved her life, or just made her smile every day. That band has never broke her heart, and have yet to leave her. No wonder she finds such joy in her music."

I have a lot of feelings about last night, and I want to share them with everyone. Last night, I saw All Time Low for the 4th time with two of my best friends. Last night, All Time Low lost one of their best friends after a fight with cancer.

The show was different than anything I've ever experienced before. Neck Deep and Sleeping with Sirens put on great shows, and then suddenly there was a long, long delay. Then a member of All Time Low's crew came out telling us that the band would be preforming, but that their set was delayed due to a personal reason. He asked that we give them all of our love, because they were going to need it when they got up on stage. A half hour after their set was supposed to start, a good portion of the arena had cleared out.

Satellites started, and we could all tell it was off. The key was wrong, Alex's voice trembled and cracked. But we lost it anyway, because that’s what you do when your favorite band comes on. The curtain dropped, and everything changed. The entire show was something else. There was so much love and admiration and excitement in the room. It was so different from any other All Time Low show I've ever been to; there was minimal banter and playfullness. It was a show that was purely music, and love for music. It was fans screaming every word to every song to show a band how much they mean to us. They didn't have to come out and play the show after receiving the news that Gavi passed away, but they did anyway. Because they didn't want to let us down and because it's what they think Gavi would have wanted. The entire crowd recognized that, and we did our best to not let them down by giving our hearts and souls back to them in the only way we know how; singing along loudly and proudly. Taking over for them when they needed or asked us to. Screaming and clapping and cheering them on because they mean so much to us.

I don't think I'll ever experience a show like last night again. It made me appreciate All Time Low and how much they give us so much more than I ever thought I'd be able to. You boys mean the world to us. I can only hope that we help you as much as you help us.

I am so, so sorry for their loss. I can't begin to imagine their pain, and I admire them so much for putting on the kind of show they did last night. Fly high and rest easy, Gavi. I know you're as proud of them as I am, if not more.

The Millenium, an indie-pop trio from Wisconsin, announced a new single today! Though it’s not being released until October 30th, we can still get excited about it by checking out the sneak peek video they posted on their social media sites promoting the single and it’s music video.
